I didn't like Jin at all at first. I was hardcore Maiko, but I'm more open to other pairings. I'll be happy with anything really. Actually, I'd like a little of each. >3
I'm still more of a Yue and Sokka person, even though I love Suki too. Ah, it's sad Yue had to... leave.

deana- You should really see the episodes with Song and Jin. I think you'll like them.  Plus there are very good episodes IMO. I like Yukka too but I prefer Sukka.

Zutara is my OTP but I do like redeemed Jet/Katara and Haru/Katara a lot. I am pretty sure I will like Zuko/Song and Zuko/Jin when I actually see those episodes. I don't like Haru/Katara anymore because I think they've destroyed his character. I loved it from Imprisoned, but now ... bleh. But I do love redeemed Jet/Katara. If he hadn't died I think all other Katara shipping would be moot. Oh yeah. Post war fics are my favorites. Five to ten years is perfect for me. |

From stars YES! We had a whole conversation about the innuendos and Katara not getting them lol Yeah and there will definitely be a new room before the finale.  If not before the new epsidoes, definitely after the ninja mission!  Congrats on Blue Spirit femble! I can't wait till I make it there! And TM did you go up to Sprit Aang too? Yay Airblazer likes Stormbenders too! Woohoo! Chapter 1 really was great.  I love the part about Zuko's face too. And maha's coming back! I'm definitely a hopeless romantic too. And deana! *hugs* lol What episodes have you not seen deana? muahahahhahaha femble - it's finally getting to you  Older Zutara is definitely awesome. Fire Lord and Lady and steam babies!!!! I loved Yuokka too. I loved both Yue and Sokka, so I loved the pairing. But now it's Tokka FTW. Sorry if this doesn't make much sense......It took me forever to read through everything I missed and comment on it. DX |

But you did post it femble.  It's in your subconscious. I think older Zutara would work good because I can see Kataang lasting a little while longer at least. Aang was the first non-related boy Katara's seen in years and I think it'd be weird for her to marry him, but a relationship for some time is likely. I'd like a well developed epilogue that introduces Zutara, but I don't think we'll get one.  |

Umm...sorry for this monstrosity of a post. I hope that's ok with you guys that I post such humongous posts! ^ Sounds like something Iroh would say. Even though I'm not a zutaraian what makes zutara beautiful to me is the fact in order for them to get together. Last night before I went to sleep, I thought about whether or not my feelings at this point about Zutara is enough for me to be a Zutarian. In order to be a zutarian or be a shipper of any ship, I guess being merely intrigued by it and seeing that's it's beautiful is not enough to really be called a shipper of a ship. Perhaps at this point I could be called a semi-zutarian but I'm not sure if I am. At this point, I like Zutara to some extent but not as much as I like Kataang. I accept Zutara now and I find some aspects of it intriguing. I think that what's blocking me from liking Zutara 100% (oh wow, now I started thinking about fruit juice for some reason - sorry, random note) is the thought that if Zutara happened, I'd feel sorry for Aang. Which reminds me...in the Final Fantasy 7 series, I ship both CloudxAeris and CloudxTifa in equal proportions (although I don't have a sig of CloudxAeris right now but only CloudxTifa). Anyways, when I found out that Cloud loves Aeris until the end of the story (And probably beyond) but only thinks of Tifa as a friend and that his love for Tifa was only a memory of the past, I felt sorry for Tifa. I wish she'd at least end up with someone. It's weird how one can get so attached to fictional characters but hey, it happens. Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if I shipped Zutara and Kataang in equal proportions from the start. And can I call myself a semi-shipper of Zutara since I see things about it that intrigues me? Or see things about it that is beautiful? This makes me wonder: To what extent do you have to like a certain ship in order to be an official shipper of it? I know for certain this, I'll definitely support Zutarians as I support my fellow Kataangers. I think of Zutarians and Kataangers as equals. I know that one cannot say one ship is better than another. All ships are equal. By the way, yesterday I thought about this: Shipping=Love...and it made me compare shipping to what it's like to love someone. And I remember what Nymph and Bagpipe were talking about when they said (and I've worded it differently and I hope I got this right) that they like Zutara just because that it's something that just is. When one loves someone, they can't help it as they can't help what ship they love. And one can't easily be swayed away from loving the one they are in love with, just like one can't easily be swayed away from loving the ship they so chose. You love someone without a reason and you love a ship without knowing why you ended up loving it. I mean, for sure you can state your reasons for liking a ship but there lies the mystery of why those reasons have drawn you to have that feeling inside. I hope I'm making sense XD. So anyways with that said, in sum, all ships are equal and we can't chose what we ship, it's something that just happens. When we like/love a ship, it may be what we like the best in our hearts but it doesn't mean that it's better than all the rest if we look at it at a world viewpoint. (Whew, I hope I said this right, I'm having a hard trying to say what I want to say). So yeah, even if I like Kataang very very much and I like Zutara to some extent, I still view the two ships equally, I see that Kataang isn't better than Zutara or Zutara isn't better than Kataang even though Kataang is a ship I like very2 much. I hope this doesn't sound contradicting because I feel like I'm not getting out the right words. Now I'm starting to feel like this belongs in the Kataang v Zutara thread but wait, actually if there was a Kataang=Zutara thread, I'd post it there Katara needs to forgive Zuko for almost killing Aang. And since Katara seemed to hate him in WAT I think it's there biggest obstacle. But judging form the zutara hug in the trailer I think she'll forgive him. Yeah, that hug did seem very forgiving like. And yes, the hate surely would be a big obstacle since hatred is a hard thing to overcome but it is possible to overcome it however. Anyways, I was going to reply to a post deana made but I will save that for my next post as soon as I get the chance to do so. I think this post is too long so I'll wait for 'til I can can post a fresh one. |

Nooooo *continues to be in denial* I much as I like kataang I think it would be pretty strange if she married him cause it was her first experience around a guy other than her brother. Unless Kataang is really love at first sight. But I don't know. EDIT Airblazer - I hadn't seen your post. But I prefer Katang and like Zutara for now I just say I ship friendship zutara but think it could develop into more. I don't think you post belongs in the Kataang vs zutara thread cause those post are more debate like. But your post just point out your view on zutara and this is the zutara thread. |

Yeah femble I agree about the love at first sight thing, but I don't think it was. Airblazer - I totally know what you mean. I was the same with Sukka and Tokka. I really do like both and was Sukka for a long time - while also enjoying some Tokka - before deciding that I really liked Tokka a lot more. Being a semi-Zutarian is good too. Or friendship Zutarian or fanon Zutarian. It probably doesn't matter as much of what you label it, just enjoy them both. And I contradict myself soooo much when explaining shipping, so don't worry. |

You're right, it doesn't matter what kind of a Zutarian I may be labeled as, what's important is that I like Zutara and don't hate it. @nymph, Heh...he...okay, I won't worry about contradiction in what I say! Thanks! Why do I like Zutara? I shall answer. Because honestly, you had me at hello romances don't really shiver me timbers anymore. Some rare times they are done so well that I can't help but like them (Elizabeth and Will Turner) and other times they get locked in my Davy (should I say Deana?) Jones locker of Superficial Nightmares (Lana Lang and Clark Kent). I want to like both characters in my romance of choice. Sometimes, that doesn't happen. I get a small pleasure out of liking a romance when one-half of the romance is a character that I despise with the fire of a thousand suns. That means the writers have done a very good job in the romance genre, if they reel me into a romance that stars a character I hate (Scarlett and Rhett GWTW). I hate Scarlett.  In Zutara's case, I like both characters. I love the redemption storyline of Zuko. He is now the guy I caught a glimpse of in The Blue Spirit (Which is the episode that I started shipping Zutara). He has grown into a guy that Katara could love. He is now the guy she thought Jet was. I know that Katara could grow into a woman he could love (really she is already). She has enough passion to last him a lifetime. She would make a dang good Fire Lady one day. The End . . . Wow, that's amazing how you would like a romance without liking one of the characters in the romance! I've never had the experience of liking a ship in such a way! Must be a good romance indeed for you to like that. Amazing! And thanks for sharing about what you like about Zutara! I surely like to learn more about it so thanks! Oh yeah, and the whole thing about Katara being a "dang good Fire Lady" is true for sure. Katara has great leadership skills Thanks to everyone too for being so kind by the way.  Something I made weeks ago:  Nicely done! That background, it makes it look like the characters are popping out of the sig as one would view those 3D books through 3D glasses. And the transparent Zuko add's a nice touch. Thanks femble. ^_^ As for Mai and Aang ending up alone if Zutara happens: No way. Their love stories don't end just because they don't end up with the person that they thought they would in the beginning. (hypothetically speaking) It is like the bend in the road that is always there that you cannot avoid. That bend in the road, can't avoid it and it always hurts. I know that feeling... But the thought that Mai and Aang end up alone and hurt somehow bothers me. I guess it's because it's something that I can really really relate to since I've been painfully burned many times in my past by the pangs of a broken heart. But you're right that love stories don't end right then and there. They can end up loving anew, finding the right person just for them. Hmm..if Zutara happens, I wonder who Mai and Aang will end up with? AangxOnji, Mai and uh...I guess femble's right about it being hard to see Mai paired up with anyone but Zuko. Hmm..I better think about this...who could she be paired up with? |

Maikoh? Umm I don't really know who I'd pair Mai with. Chan or Rahn Jahn (really bad spelling there lol) or just some random FN man. There really aren't any men besides Aang, Sokka, and Zuko around that age. Oh - Haru, Teo or the Duke? No..... About liking characters in ships.....I don't particularly like Katara or Zuko. I don't see anything too special or interesting in Katara. She's like a lot of girls in RL, unlike Toph, Mai, Ty Lee or Azula, so nothing about her really interests me. I used to be a Zuko fangirl, but his angsting (Ok I spell angst "aangst" the first time every single time I write it now XD) got to me. I don't really love or hate Zuko or Katara most of the time, but sometimes I HATE them. But I love them together. If they put their opposite, better qualities into the relationship, it's loverly. Then in Tokka, they're my 2 favorite characters so it's totally different. :/ |

Maikoh, lol. Maybe Jet, No she would probably end up killing him, Haru is probably gay IMO, Teo is too young but kind of looks like Zuko if you squint, The Duke is even younger. Hmmm  I can't think of any one for Mai. Ty Lee.  My Favorite character is Mai , followed by Sokka and then Toph, Azula, Suki, and Zuko. Most of the romance I like usually invole two charters I really like. |

Ok, I have an idea...Mai + ________ Why don't we do a romance character elimination from this list of characters: Avatar Spirit's list of characters Hmm...who could Mai best fit with other than Zuko? But I guess it's probably not best to talk about it in this thread so I'll be doing this in the Mai character thread. *Goes to Mai character thread* Maybe it might spark some interest? |
