Last night I seen the Finale while Aang was talking to the avatar Kurok I noticed he had a resemblance with Hakoda. It's mostly noticeable with their hair. They both have two small pieces of hair to one side of their face. Do you think it's possible that they are some how related to him after all Roku is related to Aang.

Roku is only related to Aang because Aang is the next incarnation of the Avatar (spirit). There was no genetics involved.
With the resemblance of Kurok, it could just possibly be a cultural thing i.e. with the styling of their hair.

Well Kuruk was born in the North and so was Gran-Gran.
I heard that GranGran is Hakoda's blood mother, so she could have had some familial tie to Kuruk. But we dunnp, water tribe people have a custom of hairstyles.

I thought Gran Gran was Katara's mom's mother? Did I get that wrong?
As for the similarities, even Yue's dad has similar features, so I'll go with cultural. Alot of the older watertribe men have similar features. FYI, I love those two little peices of hair that hang down like that. I find it hot! I'm weird, I know!

^^I think the conventional wisdom is that Gran Gran was Hakoda's mom but I agree that there isnt much information on this point and it could be argued either way.

Don't forget that Hakoda is wayyy older then any of these people. To suggest that gran gran or hakoda were related to Kuruk would be like suggest someone you know is related to George Washington.

I got the impression from the avatar and the firelord that all the avatar's lives are interconnected in some way so maybe Katara is a distant decendant from Kuruk like Zuko is to Roku and monk Gyatso knowing Aang and Roku.
You know 'Friendships trancending lifetimes' and all that jazz

It's cultural. It'd be pretty pointless to have Sokka/Katara/Hakoda to be related to an old Avatar. How do we know that Gran Gran was Hakoda's mother? I always assumed that she was Kya's mom because Kya had the betrothal necklace passed down to her. Granted, a mother in law could do that too, but it's more likely that a mother would.

^I think it was stated somewhere, but Avawiki is saying that GranGran is Hakoda's mother.
I know, I know, it could easily be edited, but I think GranGran IS Hakoda's mother. I believe the betrothal necklace was like her giving to to Hakoda to give it to Kaya.

I always thought she was Kya's mother because in The Swamp it looked like the mom had the same hair loopies. But she didn't in SR......
That would be cool if there was a relation, but I think it's just cause they're both hot Water Tribe men. It's probably hard to draw people with the same type of look very differently.

I don't know, if you look at the very youn gran gran from the Puppetmaster, she looks like Kya. Katara said it was passed down from her mother from her mom, Kana. I believe it was in the Waterbending Master.
Anyway..........I think Watertribe men all have similar features, just like FN men and EK men. The Air Nomads had like features as well. It's cultural, just like in the real world.
I will say I re-watched the finale again, and I guess Kuruk does look alot like Hakoda.

^^ as said above I also believe that it is cultural since its the water tribe. You notice others besides Kurok and Hakoda that also look simailar because they are in the water tribe.

I believe the betrothal necklace was like her giving to to Hakoda to give it to Kaya. Im not disagreeing with you but I would like to see some more indisputible evidence. Katara said the necklace was given to her mother by Gran Gran and her mother passed it on to her. Hakoda wasnt mentioned at all. Even at such a young age, it is arguable that Kya would have mentioned to Katara that her daddy giving the necklace to her. Having said that, Ive always considered Kanna to be Hakoda's mother just as a matter of course although I have to allow that I may be wrong.
