I give it an 8. I think it was well done, but they left a lot of things out. What they actually had in the show was great, but they didn't explain anything about Iroh's past, Koh didn't return when I'm pretty sure they said he would, they didn't explain whether Aang actually mastered the Avatar state or just went into and if he did master it, how, and several other things. I have a few other personally problems with Aang not having to sacrifice anything and what not, but those don't really count as holes so I'm not counting them.
So basically what they had was pretty good, but the series had a lot of holes and didn't bother to address things that they forshadowed they would, which is a pet peeve for me. I don't have a problem with filler episodes when they make me laugh, but you could have filled up a ton of the fillers like Painted Lady and Avatar Day and better yet, the Great Divide with answers to these questions.
But they totally blew my mind with the awesomeness of the finale, so I give it an 8.

I give it a 10, cause I really enjoyed the ending I may have wanted for Ursa to come out and more Hakoda screen time but over all it was a great ending.

I think the ending was great, not only for the fact that the avatar story concluded, but because it was great. I showed my friend (who never got into avatar, but saw and episode or two before) And they absolutely loved the ending, and they didn't even know what was going on. After I informed him on what was going on he liked it even more. The ending had many great points to it. Like Ozai trying to take the final step, The revealing of The White Lotus Society, the Agni Kai with Azula and Zuko, and finally the epic fight for the world. However there were some disappointments though, like Aang not killing Ozai. Now i know people are more peace oriented and Nickolodeon is a kids station and that Aang is a monk who believes all life is sacred, But the inner killer me could not stand it, all this build up and what? Take away his bending, which is a worse punishment but not as entertaining really. Next is Ursa, From what i heard and understand, she was dropped out at the end by Neil Patrick Harris (Micheal Dante DiMartino), this fact was annoying but i could of lived with out it, now the bad part is that at the end of the final episode, Zuko goes to Ozai and asks him where his mother is, Which leaves a huge Cliffhanger like Halo 2. I mean if they took out that one scene then most people wouldn't of even noticed that part.

I thought it was amazing, nearly perfect. 9 because it could have been a wee bit different. e.g. We all wanted to see someone die, specifically Sokka's sword kill something instead of whacking other's broadside !!! Or Aang on Ozai.

I loved the ending. I knew not everything was going to be resolved and I am glad it wasn't. It leaves the door open for future projects (if there are any).
I loved the fact Aang did not kill Ozai. He stayed true to himself and his beliefs. Taking away Ozai's bending is far worse. Death would have been kinder but it kind of came full circle. Iroh was imprisoned and declared a traitor, Zuko banished but in the end it was Ozai who ended up powerless and imprisoned. Reduced to nothing.

Majority agrees it was insanely amazing.. I don't know how much I would change. But I do know I would want to see more closure in the areas of Zuko and his Mother Ursa, Azula, all the people who helped during the invasion, etc., as well as see what ends up happening to the South Pole and Omashu and other locations that were basically destroyed because of the Fire Nation. I'd also love for Zuko and Aang to burn their outfits.. the fire lord and monk outfits respectively. They looked HORRRIBLE. But besides that, EPIC (in the words of mark spitz). Although we all know what Micheal Phelps pulled was the definition of EPIC. I would also love to see a kind of "where they are now" thing also sometime soon. Like I don't know, 5-10 years into the future. So we can get more fufilled closure.

^^I think we all want to see that, but I doubt we'll get it. I'll keep praying for M&B to have a change of heart and give us what we want though!

The finale was good, I just wish the first half of the season wasn't almost complete filler.

Personally, I give I have to say this season finale wasn't completely satisfying. I thought for sure this would fill every gap left in the story and answer every lingering question. The future of every character at the end was not discussed in the detail it should have. There was just too much story in so short a time. It felt, rushed... So I rate this finale a 5, just "acceptable" . This is considering that there is no Book 4 or any kind of sequel season... PLEASE! Do not rate based on whether the ship you support came to pass. Believe me, as a Toko fan, I wasn't happy with Zuko ending up with Mai, but I did not allow this to influence my rating. Wait just a minute. The Finale? Are you saying that all of you have seen the Finale?ALREADY?! The latest episode I've seen was Book 3 Chapter 13! This is crazy!WHERE ARE THE EPISODES HIDDEN?!

Are you saying that all of you have seen the Finale?ALREADY?! The latest episode I've seen was Book 3 Chapter 13! This is crazy!WHERE ARE THE EPISODES HIDDEN?! Avatar's been over since July. And they've been playing Season 3 Friday nights at 6:30 on Nicktoons Network for who knows how long. The only way I can think of you having missed them is not living in the U.S., but then, Canada and Europe both got Avatar episodes from Western Air Temple up to The Boiling Rock before the U.S., and even then, I'm fairly certain that the finale aired at about the same time worldwide. I've been wrong before, though. I give the entire finale movie-type deal a 10, despite a few gripes. For example, taking the Avatar State away from Aang at the end of Season 2, making us all believe that he was blocked from it for good, then all of a sudden giving it back to him. That really chaps my hide, and so does the fact that every single Avatar before him that he talked to, Roku through Yangchen, said he's going to have to kill Ozai, and Yangchen even pulled a Dr. Phil and said "It's not about you!" The whole taking Ozai's bending away was pretty cool, and I'm telling you, the Lion-Turtle gave him that ability, cause remember, Toph asked him where he learned to do it, and he replied, "A giant Lion-Turtle," so I don't want to hear any "He already had that ability." Anyway that was cool, but so wrong that he had to make no sacrifices whatsoever, when Zuko, Suki, and Toph all almost died, and Sokka may never walk properly again. Don't get me wrong, I mean the finale was epic, and I wanted that, but humans are murderous creatures, and when you have four of your past lives telling you that you're going to have to do it... YOU HAVE TO F***ING DO IT!!! I'm sorry, but it is just too convenient to not only give him the Avatar State back on a silver platter for the most part AND have him come up with a way to avoid killing Ozai. Monk or not, Aang should have had to have made that sacrifice, when three of his friends almost died fulfilling their role in the war's end and one got seriously, probably permanently, injured, though Sokka was seated at the end, so we really don't know how he was doing.

Sure, some loose ends being tied up would be nice, I suppose, but as it's already been stated, most such loose ends are, in fact, inconsequential.
