It may be more of an Avatar level airbending that simpl higher level airbending but Avatar Aang's use of all the elements at once to form orbits around himself in Sozin's Comet was clearly informed by his airbending discipline.

Maybe they can create wind storms, like tornados or hurricanes?

Tornadoes and high leveled gales are nothing more than powerful Airbending. I'm sure most master airbenders are capable of such feats.

How the hell is Gravity Bending canon? --; That one reference used Airbending to stop the piece of meat using a vacuum of sorts. Seriously, you can see the spherical style of the air surrounding the meat much in the same way Aang does to himself. It's manipulating the air, not a force such as gravity. My theory fits in with Soundbending. Remember when Aang makes that whistling noise to attract the animals, or when in the "Firebending Masters" he increases the intensity of his cry for help? There's two solid references for you. If it was soundbending he wouldn't need a sky bison whistle, you saw air currents because gravitybending is the higher version of airbending so of course air would be involved It may be more of an Avatar level airbending that simpl higher level airbending but Avatar Aang's use of all the elements at once to form orbits around himself in Sozin's Comet was clearly informed by his airbending discipline. Yes it was, it was also informed by his fire, earth, and water disciplines, whats your point?

^^ Not it wasnt. The circular or orbit like forms that Aang employed around himself are distinct to the Ba Gua Zhang style of kung fu on which Airbending is based. Arguably, if Aang's principle discipline had been Firebending (based on Nothern Shao Lin style of kung fu) like Roku, he would have employed the Avatar State differently.

The orbit reminds me of an atom. That orbit that Aang demonstrated was based on a Kung Fu move? I know that bending is based on kung fu (air is ba gua zhang, fire is northern shaolin, water is tai chi and earth is hung gar, top uses mantis and hung gar) but i thouht that the orbit wasn't based on anything, it thought it was more of a generic fighting style.

^^ I disagree. The circular motions and defensive postures of Ba Gua Zhang were stated by Sifu Kisu to be the basis of Airbending style. I didnt mean that forming an orbit or sphere of the elements was present in the actual martial art as that is not physically possible in real life. I just mean the spherical/ orbital forms would come more naturally and readily to an Airbender than to a master of one of the other bending skills. Consider Aang's airscooter which is basically a sphere of air. Or even the sphere of rock that Aang used to cocoon himself from Ozai's attack. It was clearly earthbending but the specific form would probably not have occured to Toph who thinks like an Earthbender. I like to think of it as akin to Yoshoku, the Japanese Version of Western Food where the Japanese take western dishes and just give it their own unique japanese twist. Aang just added his own airbending twist to his use of the other elements.
