Good points, Zoisaito--I have my own theory, but it takes a bit of time to explain and I haven't been as up to date on spoilers as I would like to be before I end up typing out the long explanation.
I think Azula does actually care for her friends in her own way--useful allies are definitely hard to come by apparently. But I do wonder if someone else will become a contender for Azula's position as Ozai's favorite/most trusted--and I don't mean Zuko (...AHHAHAHHHAHHHAA, AS IF).
I'm looking at you, combustion man.
Here's a rough version of what I was thinking: Say Zuko leaves (we're all almost certain he is the runaway, y/n?). Ok, Zuko makes it into hiding without telling Mai, Mai decides to set off after him. Well, if she comes across CM and he makes her go boom--how hard would it be for him to tell Ozai that his son just split to probably start a rebellion, and his gf was going to aid him? It wouldn't take a whole lot of effort to effectively brand Zuko and Mai as traitors, thus giving a good excuse to kill Mai straight off since she isn't of royal bloodline.
So here's what you'd end up with: Azula is out one ally, and the very person who took that ally was able to use that situation to gain favor with the Fire Lord, while at the same time making her look bad because it seems that Mai was able to deceive Princess Azula, the favored child and prodigy--or worse yet, it raises suspicion that Azula could be planning a coup to usurp the throne with her friends, the way she took down Ba Sing Se.
Sorry if it sounds complicated and weird, but I've watched a lot of Chinese drama series that are based loosely on actual Chinese history. If you ever watched a series like that set during/between the Sui and Tang dynasty, you'll see just how much conspiracy and manipulation come into play. Ever since Azula took BSS, I kept being reminded of a similar situation in which the character that proved to be a little too good ended up being watched and scrutinized more often for signs of rebellion.

I accually think Aang will die this season, and take out Ozai along with him. It would make sense to me for a brillant scarifice

Ozai will definetly die. Aang I don't will because it just wouldn't fit right. He's supposed to be there for the salvation of the world, considering he's the one that caused it. I don't think Azula will die either... she's more likely to be jailed forever. Zuko... I'm not sure, but I think he might still have a chance to be reformed. So for right now, Ozai is the only definite, and thats not even definete because he might not.

It's really up in the air.
If she betrays Azula and helps Zuko...Mai! Azula is evil and crazy and she won't like a friend's betrayal one freaking bit. LOL, she might become Zuko's sun like Sokka's Yue moon.
The Fire Lord, if Azula is planning what I think she is planning.
Zuko if Azula is planning what I think she is planning.
I really don't want them to lose Azula if the show continues pass season 3. She is a villain that so good a being evil and dirty.

Toph. "The swamp shows us visions of people we've loved, people we've lost. Time is an illusion." What does this translate to? Ignore the past tense; people you've loved and lost = people you are going to love and going to lose. "So, I saw someone I;'m going to meet." Correct. So, you saw someone you're going to lose. Just like Katara's mother and Yue. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Toph died. Okay, surprised, yes. But it would make sense.

The Swamp is about time, not just about the past but the present and future. Obviously it was very important for Aang to see Toph more than say Bumi or Monk Gyatso because- really- the entire point of this episode was to have a cool way to introduce Toph while also not making the intro too obvious or dumb. Besides, Toph is a cute, tough, super strong, and awesome 12 year old girl with a great background and powers. We have been able to become attached to her but not as much as Katara or Sokka, they won't kill her because they might just forget about Toph's importance again.

I don't see Toph dying... and I didn't vote Ozai cause I thought tha was obvious. But I said Iroh. As Much as I don't want him to die, I'm surprised he's made it this far int the series. My main reason for why I think he is going to die is because he is the mentor figure, and the mentor figure always dies eventually. And Zuko would like... die if Iroh was dead so it would be a great plot stirring. But I really hope he doesn't die T_T

Which is why it will be so sad they won't kill her because they might just forget about Toph's importance again. Deaths of characters that major only come at the very end. She wouldn't be killed in the middle of the season and forgotten, like Jet. I said Iroh. As Much as I don't want him to die, I'm surprised he's made it this far int the series. My main reason for why I think he is going to die is because he is the mentor figure, and the mentor figure always dies eventually. Good point. Let's hope there's a loophole in being the mentor of the villain instead of the hero. Aang's mentor already died.

The Swamp theory is a load of trash to me, no offense to you, but I've never bought it as being a foreshadowing of Toph's death... I don't think Azula's doll from Iroh was foreshadowing either.

Good point. Let's hope there's a loophole in being the mentor of the villain instead of the hero. Aang's mentor already died. Okay...so the mentor dies in order for the mentored to learn to stand on their own two feet, right? So the loophole with the death of the mentor thing and Iroh is that Zuko has already severed the ties with him in order to go on and grow stronger on his own...he doesn't have to die in order for Zuko to learn to stand on his own because the mentor/student bond is already broken.

I'm not sure, they might just keep Azula alive--she's insanely popular... Plus, it'd be too easy to just kill her--no, I think they ought to either lock her up or disable her and force her to help rebuild what she destroyed.

Hmm... I'm thinking either Iroh or Zuko. Sorry that this will be long, but here's my reasons why i think one of them is most likely to bite the dust:
Aang: No. Well, someone needs to rebuild the Air Nomads. So Aang can't die. Katara: Probably not. I want her to die, it would be a good twist (please don't kill me!) it's not that i hate her, i just think that in the story, she is the "Enchantress" (i did this in english) and often the enchantress dies. And if he did, Aang could master the avatar state, or he could just sacrifice himself because he sees no reason to live anymore, thus ending the war. But wait... then two people died and i contradicted myself. Scratch that. Sokka: No. That would just be pointless. Face it, he's not a huge factor in determining how the war ends, but he is the comic relief. You just don't kill the comic relief. Except if you're JK Rowling killing Fred.... *grumbles endlessly*. Toph: She could... but i'm in denial. She strikes me as the kind to be "ROCK LIKE!!!" and stand her ground and die fighting. And there is the swamp thing. All the people in the swamp are dead. Azula: Hell no! I just don't think Azula would die. I think there will be a final battle where we have to face the truth: as much as we hate the Fire Nation, they are more powerful than the kids. And if the reststance does crumble to Teo etc... then Azula would run away to save herself. Duh. Zuko: Maybe. Maybe Azula could be about to kill Iroh, when Zuko jumps in front of the lightning and saves him because he feels so guilty about betraying him and being mean to him when Iroh was so nice and patient and tea-drinking. Iroh: My best bet. Nooooo! But then again, he is old, and it is more his time than anyones. He might just do what is best for the world. I love you, Iroh. Ozai: I don't think so. I think maybe Zuko could run away, find Ursa and bring her back, then Ozai would be happy and end the war. Or not. Because that would be very Harry Potter- like. Mai: Probably not. Why would she? because of those sketches of Azula looking geniunely upset, and Ty Lee crying (i don't care what M&B say, i insist that it is her) Ty Lee: NO. Just no. I can't see why she would, could or should. And i am also one of the awsome, yet strange people who insist that she is an Air Nomad and she and Teo will help Aang revive them.
whew! that was long and boring. Ah well, i hope it helped some people to gather thoughts.

Toph/Sokka is looking more canon after "Sokka's Master," and... yea man i see some flirtin between toph an sokka too, maybe toph will die now seein as sokka kills all the shawties he flirt wit. True. Sorry Toph. Of course, Sokka is genre savvy about the way things work in their world ("Weird stuff happens to us.")...
