Ok just let me clarify something first though.....no.....you counted a 14 year old as a 15 year old because of maturity. Yet you didn't count a 16 year old as a 15 YO or younger because of immaturity, so I assumed that within your twisted logic, the younger person in the relation ship can be counted as older based on maturity but the younger can't be made younger for immaturity.
The amount of pure hilarity that would come out of it

For me, the best part of Taang is the humor that can come from it. Think of it, two twelve year old master benders who are complete opposites put together. Oh the havoc that it would cause. I also like how they're just plain adorable together. Kataang I don't have much of a problem with, I just prefer Taang (and Zutara) to it. Tokka on the other hand reminds me too much of my brother and me. I'm pretty much like Toph in RL (aside from the fact that I squee at some adorable things like Taang), same for my brother and Sokka. The age difference is the also the same. When I see Tokka I honestly cannot see it happening, because I see this twisted up picture of my brother and me. O.O Scares me half to death. I don't think age difference matters, but at this point it also plays a factor. I mean, my cousin is marrying a guy seven years older than her. My dad is two years younger than my mom. Age doesn't matter, but right now in the show Toph and Sokka should age a little more...maybe when they're both older...but for now....taang.

ah ok. i understand, K9. just don't start using algebra for shipping and it'll be fine. although i wonder what you guys could do with shipping and the pythagorean theorem.
favorite part about taang? hmmm there's a few actually. i'll just go with the one that came to me first though. i like how toph helped aang stand up for himself more, and how aang, being toph's first friend, basically started her opening up. even though they don't show it that much, i think they care about each other a lot.

Hmmmm.... I think I could inject pythagorean into this, using comparitive triangular sides to indicate age, intelligence and percieved maturity and match the angles up in degree based equations. May need a pie chart too. As for what I like about Taang. Ummm... hard to say in so many words. Basically, I like what it could be. Right now there lives are complicated enough without obsessing over their older crushes returning their younger emotions. Hell, they even have that in common, but neither seems to really take advantage of their friendship. That's what I'd like to see for now. In years to common, when they're both a bit older and wiser, well... that's another story.

lol i love talking to you, lun^_^. so are ya gonna show us this pie chart when you're done? i think i like the friendship relationships in the show more these days anyway....and that's saying a lot cause i usually don't like something without a bit of romance in it . (yes i'm a hopeless romantic...i believe i've mentioned that before)

Well, Cleary, I'm glad you have so much faith in me, but that would be a big pain, and I know there'd be a bunch of debate about the measurements since character intelligence, life experience value and estimated maturity levels and compatibility are mostly speculative ideas even when dealing with real people. Factor in that these kids are all fictional and suddenly concreting evidence becomes an impossibility. Besides, I don't feel like arguing with fans over what they consider to be their favorite or least favorite character's traits. As for ships sans romance, it's kind of an on and off appeal for me too. A lot of fandom relationships are just boring if the characters aren't having emotional fits over one another. Though I admit I can only deal with so much of it. I draw the line right before teen angst dramas, and just beyond spitting distance of day time soap operas. Which is too bad. I'd really like to have the reach. Alternatively, it is nice to see how two potential future lovers act before they start obsessing and romanticising over one another. As kids Toph and Aang have that potential, to take one another at face value right now, and maybe in years to start looking more deeply into one another. I find that kind of entertaining. Too bad, I don't actually get to see it.

I know this is off-topic, but I see all those presents and I'm getting into the holiday spirit Well, what I like about Taang? Well, it's just that it fits so well into the storyline: it's like it was meant to be. If they hadn't injected Kataang into the show, it would've been Taang. I mean, two twelve year old kids. Two bending masters. Two completely different kids, but they have problems and deal with them with each other. I mean, Toph and her parents- Aang was really the only one who got that. And although they don't get along so well, it's just fun to watch. Taang really is a very interesting couple. Yup, I agree with lunauc. Right now, it seems like Aang is in the "I'm crushin' hard on Katara" phase, and he is crushing hard on her because they know each other well enough. But Toph and Aang aren't at that level where they can realize, oh, I love Toph or whatnot. It'll be interesting to see how their relationship matures over the show. I just wish that they could have more quieter scenes together, like the one in the Bei Fong Garden in the Blind Bandit episode. Some bonding stuff, you know? It's disappointing that we won't be able to see their relationships mature past the third season.

You know what I think might be our best chance of taang? Sokka makes Toph angry somehow, Katara makes Aang angry somehow. Toph and Aang both want to make their water tribe person of the opposite gender jealous, so they say they're going out. It doesn't work in the slightest but they both start to like eachother that way, they continue going out for years and years, and years.

^LOL and then there will be a long pause... Aang: "Well....see...ummm...what happened was... (Oh spirits, anything I say will be automatically wrong)" Toph: "Well, your daddy wasn't the best choice out there. But he was the best choice for me. And I'm the best for him. Isn't that right?" Aang: "Yes! Yes! Best choice! Air and Earth! Huge success!" Best I could come up with. The third part to the Sokkla travesty is up and on the Sokkla thread.

WE GOT TOGETHER TO MAKE OTHER PEOPLE JEALOUS. Toph:.............*is ready to chuck rocks at Aang* Taang kids:................ Aang: oh crap. Well we stayed together because your mom is awesome enough to not break up with me when I screw up, like I just did. *whispers "please don't kill me, I'm so sorry" in Toph's ear*
