There's quite a dilemma you have.

On one hand,

In fact, the interaction between the two of them in DoBS was more than I could ever have hoped for.

I'm not against Sukka. If it happens, I'll be happy cause I know there won't be the issue of pedophilia. If it doesn't, which I don't think is the case cause I'm pretty sure it will happen, than as long as he's not with Toph, I'm still happy.

It wasn't meant as an attack. It meant to be humourous and as a generalization of what some people might see Tokka and/or Kataang as. Zutara is pedophillic too once you break it down. Hell almost every single pairing reeks of it. It's the result of fans thinking too much into things.

And it's also based on the individual fan.

Why don't I like Tokka?

Well, if I ever saw my 12 year old cousin hanging out with a 15 year old teenage boy, no matter what his personality is, warning flags go up.

"Oh we're just friends."

"Fine. Stay that way."

I don't have siblings so my cousins are the closest that I have. I can't stop her from liking boys. I'd even find her crush on the boy cute. I'd just rather she hang out with boys her age.

If the boy's a good kid. Fine. Maybe I'll even like him after a while.

If he says he thinks of her like a little sister, I'd be fine with it. Anything else, I'll kill him.

Over protective?

Maybe.

She can handle herself, but it never hurts to have backup.

And I'm pretty sure back in Avatar's times, 12 year old girls were typically not sluts. Today, hell yea they are. Today, 15 year old boys are on a mental level much more primative then that of a goldfish, combine that with .....*vommit*. In Avatar, 15 year old boys are.......probably at a mental level (slightly) less primative then Toph's or near it. Or atleast it's not as primative as the 15 year olds of today. And sorry to tell you this, but Toph can think for herself, she has no parents,older cousins, sisters. or people who can control her if she doesn't let them.

Umm...see this isn't about Toph per se. It's about my own family. It's just that when I see Toph, I'm reminded of my own cousins whose her age. She's not Toph but they're the same age which makes me connect the dots.

Well, on the radio a few months ago I heard a mathmatical formula to figure out how young is to young for a person.

What you do is, take the age of the older person, then divide it by 2, then add 7. The number you get is the age that is the permissible floor of that allowable age. If the younger person is below that, then she(or he) is to young.

Let's try it out! ^_^ Let's say Sokka is 15. Half of that is 7 and 1/2, so: 7.5+7=14.5

And how old is Toph? 12? To young!

Shall we try Kataang, with Katara at 14?

14/2= 7, 7+7= 14

Aang is 12, soooo. .....Nope! To young. ^_^

Now, true, some couples probably won't work out on numbers alone. Like Zutara:

If Zuko is 16, then half of that is 8, and 8+7=15

Katara is 14, but since her mother died when she was young, she was forced to grow up exponintially, so one could make the argument that she is indeed old enough.

And what's great about this formula is that it only works when those involved are old enough to have gone through puberty and are at the age when they're ready to consider a relationship.

Well i think all the possible avatar relationships could work no matter the age, because it's just in the cartoon. If it were in real life then of course they all would b too young, although i knew a girl, this was back when i was in middle school, who was 12 and was dating a high school guy who was like 17. (i wasnt friends with her, she was a psycho)
This does happen in real live and its prob the parents fault for not controlling their kids, (If i had a kid like that i'd keep her on a tight leash).

To me it's your age - 1/4th of your age at a minimum, and +1/4th as a max, this is assuming both you and the person you're dating are old enough to date.

Remember also, that Katara will be turning 15 in about six months, if we can assume that she was born in the winter like most waterbenders are. Adding or subtracteing roughly six months, I assume*, could be acceptable, but any more is starting to push.

Besides, you could subtract six from Katara(make Katara more immature?), and you'll still not get the numbers to work. Same with Tokka.
