Wait, what? Almighty Bum is alive and doing the OC contest again? You may feel that the world is coming to an end, but it certainly is not. I would like the thank Combustion Man for allowing me to continue this contest for a second time.
So, rather than making the topic as "everything goes", there is a now a specifc guideline that your OC must follow. It is a contest after all.
The "Non-benders are better" Contest
Alright. People seem to think that bending is the only way an OC can be truly cool, that the majority of the Avatar world are benders. Well, what about the non-benders? Aren't they important too? So, the theme for this contest is "Non-benders are better". Everything else should be quite obvious... create a non-bending OC that is NOT the typical assassin or any other sue trait.
Deadline: December 8th, 2007.
Rules
With every contest, there are rules.
1. PLEASE follow the canon guidelines. In this case, there are absolutely no benders. Not even the oh-so-fun "Not a bender... yet". That just drives me nuts, so don't do it. Also, remember the physical traits of each nation! The Water Tribe has a darker skin tone, brown hair, blue eyes; EK has green/brown eyes, brown/black hair, varying skin tones; FN has amber/brown eyes, black hair, and light skin tone. Try and stick to that. (You may want to debate with me about this... I'm just telling you the typical appearance for the citizens of each nation.)
2. When describing your characters, PLEASE DON'T go "like Katara's dress" or "like Zuko's hair". Don't mention the avatar characters in your description AT ALL.
3. I know this is common, but just don't base your character off another character on another show. Too many times have I seen someone who just based their character off a Naruto character.
4. Use actual names that might appear on Avatar. That is, don't use Mary, Sue, Gary, or Stu.
5. Make your character believable! Make it seem as if your character can actually guest star!
6. USE PROPER GRAMMAR! I know I suck at grammar, but I at least try to put something that is... readable. I don't want to read anything like "u r so kool!!!11!" You have taken English classes.
7. Max of 3 entries per person.
8. In this case, the OC has to be human AND living in the present time.
9. For the purposes of saving my eyes, please don't make your background run so long. I understand that there are a lot of descriptions, but I just get cross-eyed and unmotivated to read such a long background. ><
10. ABSOLUTELY NO PICTURES. I don't care if it is the best artwork in the world, no pictures. No if's, and's, or but's.

This time, the submission will be private. That is, PM all entries to me. I will reply to your message saying that I got it, so I won't receive 10 PMs asking if I received the entry or not. To save my sanity, only send it once and just don't continuously PM. The more you do, the more I get annoyed and the more unhappy I'll be when I begin to judge.
Judging
Like the last contest, the judging is private. For those of you who are unfamiliar with this, it means that judges will be called upon to judge the winners. This, I think, is the fairest way to do it. I don't want people to make multiple accounts in order to vote for their own OC. Okay. So I think everyone's issue is patience. I understand that it's exciting to see the results, but please, the judges have a life too. If it takes a while, don't whine, cry, or PM. IT WILL BE DONE. Hopefully, the results will be announced within a week after the contest closes.
Who are the judges?
The judges consist of people who are not members of this forum, but are still avid Avatar fans. Most of them are my own friends who are willing to do this favor for me. Just to clear this up, I don't want any favoritism when it comes to judging. If I ask a member of this forum to be a private judge, then there might be some leniency towards some people's characters. It just won't be on the same playing field. You may think I am crazy for this, and I'm willing to accept that.
Prizes
And, of course, there are prizes for the winners. Like the last contest, the winner will receive the same prizes. (If you would like to see what I have made for the last contest, please look in the other thread.)
EDIT: Because it is the holiday season, all OC's with scenery will be in a snow globe. ^^ They will have a background depending on their background. The names of the OC will also be printed at the base of the snow globe for all to see.
1st place: Large Pixel doll of your OC along with scenery for it.
2nd place: Medium pixel doll of your OC along with scenery for it.
3rd place: Small pixel doll of your OC along with scenery for it.
If needed: Because these two don't have scenery, they'll come with holiday gifts. ^^
4th place: Small pixel doll of OC. No scenery.
Judge's Choice: Small pixel doll of OC. No scenery.
Note: It may come as a shock to some of you, but I do have a life outside of this forum. If I don't get back to you right away, please don't panic. Chances are, I probably did receive it and that I have it in my file.
If you have any questions, you may post it here for others to see. Chances are that they might have the same question to. I'll try to answer promptly.
