Shucks, she has already beaten the odds in in that department!
(too bad that her exploits outside the studio got som much more attention)

Hmm... I should have clarified "ensuring her longevity in music." In the tabloid media, she'll be around for quite some time.

luthien: I have to agree, Toxic is an amazing song <3 But I don't know about you, but I really like the electronic modifications. It makes the song fun to listen to. I was talking to my friends about this last night and we're all in an agreement that we still love her voice. It isn't like Christina Aguilera or Beyonce in the sense that they have strong ones, but hers has a distinct sound and you instantly recognize it when you hear it, right? I just love the sound. cara: WEWT! I love "Ooh Ooh Baby", "Piece of Me", "Radar", "Toy Soldier", and "Break the Ice". But of course I like them all

I listened to Spears' full cd on the internet. Here's my review of it for my school newspaper. Oops! She Did It Again Britney’s Talent Blackout
After five years without a new cd, Britney Spears made her comeback to the music scene with, Blackout. This is her first all new, full-length studio album since In the Zone. While Spears retains some of her old pop diva vocals, the entirety of Blackout is more reminiscent of Toxic. Blackout is by far not Spears’ strongest album, ever, but is more or less her weakest album vocally. One can tell even from the opening lines of the first track “Gimme More” that Spears’ voice has been tweaked. Some of Blackout’s tracks, including Piece of Me and Freakshow are catchy and keep you dancing to the end. Other tracks, like Break the Ice and Heaven on Earth are tasteless and leave the listener wanting more than Britney’s same old Slave 4 U act. All in all, old fans of Spears will be pleased to see her back. However Blackout won’t exactly gain her any new fans. [/center]

I know, but really it's how I felt about the album. Britney doesn't sound much better on this cd than what the true critics are saying "like a Brit Bot".
