I was thinkin, the title of this thread is "Songs that trigger emotions." So does it have to be about songs that are sad, or can they be songs that trigger other emotions. Cuz I was just listening to "Cartoon Heroes" by Aqua and now I feel bubbly and excited. And before that I was listening to "PHD" by Crystal Method. I swear, that song will make you feel like...some sort of secret agent, high tech ninja out to kick everyone's a**. Okay, yeah, I'm done.

wow LT. you come up with some pretty neat music threads <3 CountessRachel, that's why I carefully picked the title. Any emotion, the song alters your mood. @gamb That's what I was wondering, "thrash" or "trash" @ kappasam There was an even better title in the "welcome" forum for awhile. Something about "I have come to eat your..." which was truncated to "I have come to eat you" in the front page preview, rofl Adding: Blur - "Boys and Girls" makes me want to DANCE.

"Wonderful" by Everclear gets me everytime I listen to it. It makes me sad because I can relate to this song a lot after my parent's seperated when I was 11.
"Kylie" by Akcent makes me want to jump up and dance!
"Precious Illusions" by Alanis Morissette makes me smile for some reason.
"If You Want It To Be Good Girl (Get Youself A Bad Boy)" by the Backstreet Boys makes me laugh. I guess it's because I first heard it on a Katara video with Jet and Zuko. XD

For one thign, there has always been "Speeding Cars" by Imogen Heap, and that song almost always moves me to tears by how much I can relate to it, especially now. Along with "Hurt" by Johnny Cash.
Then, there are songs like "Super Freak" by Rick James, and "I Won't Say I'm In Love" from "Hercules" always make me giddy & wanting to dance. XD

The Mortal Kombat theme. I don't care who you are, that song will make you back flip off the ceiling and shoot fireballs out your eyes. "Renegades of Funk" by RAtM and "Lose Control" by Missy Elliot give me an overwhelming urge to breakdance--or try to anyway.

The Mortal Kombat theme makes me want to just start fighting someone for no other reason than just to fight them. And I'm not talking just punching and kicking, I'm talking straight up suddenly being a master of two forms of marital arts and a weapon and having all sorts of crazy powers.
"Let It Roll" by the Charlie Daniels Band makes me happy.
"Nothing Else Matters" by Metallica makes me feel sad and emo-ish.
"Prince of Darkness" by Megadeth makes me want to straight up kill someone.

JUST LIKE HEAVEN!!!
Sorry, I really love that song. Anyways, if you want some really sad songs, try these.
Homesick-The Cure Or, better yet, just listen to the entire Disintegration album. So sad A Day in the Life-The Beatles The saddest, and possibly best, Beatles song of all time. The Shadow of the Valley of Death-Marilyn Manson Reminds me of Zuko(I wish that I could be the king/then I'd know that I am not alone) Great Gig in the Sky-Pink Floyd Toy Soldiers-Eminem Something in the Way-Nirvana
And since you mentioned Columbine, have you heard "The Nobodies" by Manson, Lt. Dan? It's about the boys and the false accusation that Manson inspired them to murder.
My happy songs include Rocks Off-Rolling Stones Octopus's Garden-The Beatles D'Ya Think I'm Sexy-Rod Stewart Strutter-KISS Blue Sky-Allman Brothers Band
And if someone creates another sub-genre of metal, I'm going to kill myself.

Frozen by Madonna makes me sad. It describes the relationship between my sister and me too well. Run run away by Slade - pure joy!

Some great songs mentioned in your post. About Columbine: I don't remember that detail about them listening to Manson. When I'm not feeling angsty about that era of my life, I'll have to listen to that song. I just remember what was on the air at the time, like it was yesterday. The local modern station (93.3 KTCL) was still playing alot from Enema of the State, and "Adams Song" was played alot. Sugar Ray - "Falls Apart" being another Columbine shooting era song that gets at me. They played that alot, and I'm almost certain it was on the air when that all went down.

Well, the media accused Marilyn Manson of inspiring them to murder their classmates with his music, but it was later revealed that they actually disliked his music. The media needed a scapegoat, and Manson was chosen. It's funny, the bands the boys actually did listen to (KMDFM, Rammstein) are almost never mentioned as being a possible influence on the boys, it's always people blaming either Manson or video games.
