So, we have "Movies that make you cry" and "Books that make you sad". This can be the "Music Board" version?
Song that makes me sad, even cry:
Blink 182 - "Adams Song"
We lived 10 blocks away from Columbine HS for 8 years. My job required me to do alot of local travel, and I was literally a block away from Columbine when the rampage happened. The aftermath really hit our community hard. A year later, when you could see the local churches, schools etc, slowly recovering and looking toward the future, Greg Barnes hung himself in his garage listening to this song over and over. He was still in the throes of serious depression over seeing his friend shot and killed. It was a wake up call that the healing would take a LONG time, and there were kids still in serious need. To this day, I can't listen to this song anymore. It takes me back to those dark times.
err... now for something more cheerful.
Hepcat - "Dance 'wid me" and Hepcat - "Riding the Regi" I can't sit still when these songs are on. I have to get up and jump around ;D

Ohh. "Little Soldier Boy" was really sad =(
I went and worked out at lunch today, as usual. Today's emphasis was weights. I have a bunch of Metallica songs cued up for that activity, and I've come to the conclusion that Metallica songs make me "angry" (but in a good way?).

"Perfect" by Simple Plan makes me cry. It reminds me of my friend's life. She and her dad weren't very close and stuff. It makes me sad knowing that she never really had a father.

Pretty Girl (The Way) by Sugarcult makes me feel content. *shrug* Dunno the name of it, but if anyone is familiar with Yuna and Tidus's theme from FFX, that song makes me bawl. No joke. Let Go by Frou Frou makes me smile.

Sam Fisher, do you mean thrash metal, or is this trash metal something new?
There are exactly four songs that have made me cry:
"Mockingbird" and "When I'm Gone" by Eminem--mostly because these were released when the story of the song was playing out in my life.
"Little Soldier Boy" from ToBSS...who didn't cry when they saw this?
And...I can't remember the third one. I think it was a Fort Minor song though. You'd think I'd remember...
I've noticed that for me, at least, the songs that are the most powerful emotionally are the corny ones that everyone laughs about but secretly listens to when no one is watching. Those are the ones you can really just throw yourself into.
