It was as if the Rock Gods Themselves predetermined the fate of (from left to right) John Bonham, Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, and John Paul Jones. They rose from the ashes of the Yardbirds, a band that produced legends Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck. They took their name from a statement Who drummer Keith Moon made ("It'll go over like a lead zeppelin"). They reached the top of the charts the day the Beatles broke up. Their blues-influenced brand of hard rock has influenced countless groups past and present. Discuss your favorite songs, albums, their reunion concert, or side projects like Robert Plant's duets album with Alison Krauss. Discography: Led Zeppelin (1969) Led Zeppelin II (1969) Led Zeppelin III (1970) (1971) Houses of the Holy (1973) Physical Graffiti (1975) Presence (1976) In Through the Out Door (1979) www.ledzeppelin.com

I like Hammer of the Gods and Whole lotta love.... They are great songs.... I like the orchesteral version of Whole lotta love its really cool...
I think Robert Plant sounds a bit like Chis Cornell out of Audioslave.... I think Audioslave are kinda like a modern version of Led Zepplin some of their songs sound similar....

Led Zep kicks A$$ man. Edit: There's a new rule that you have to give reason(s) why you like something. Not just say that you like it but explain why too.

Led Zeppelin is amazing not because of their musical writing poweress but because of the ablitiys of each member of the band. I am a guitarist like Jimmy so I think he is the best. I also like Robert Plant because I can sometimes sing like him. But this is possibly the best band of all time and thank you for finally creating a thread for them.

Quite welcome. I, too, am a guitarist, but I find myself being more impressed with John Paul Jones' mastery of both the bass and the keyboards than Jimmy Page's solos at any given day. Just a taste thing, I guess.
Furthermore, John Bonham was, hands down, the greatest rock drummer in history. He was good technically and he was freakin' loud. Keith Moon of the Who may have been fun to watch, but Bonham was a god.

Go on youtube and check out the 'Black Jacket Symphony'
among others, they play in concert a whole album, like you would have listened to it on the turn table/CD player.
They are located in the Southeast...so a bit of a secret, but they really do rock!
(This was actually an encore, so they do kinda talk and do the concert thing)

Fun fact about "Kashmir." The riff is in 3/4 time while the drum beat is in 4/4, helping to create the driving, unfamiliar feel.
