The work of art and sensational music called Jack's Mannequin that came from the mind of Andrew MacMahon has never ceased to amaze me. The piano and guitar blend so perfectly with the steady drum beat that it never occured to me that someone actually made it. To me it was just there. It took me so long to realize that the beautiful instrumentalist was actually human.
Everything In Transit is the first and so far only album from Jack's Mannequin. It was an enormous sucess. Everything in Transit details a young mans trip back home to California, mostly Santa Monica and Venice and how he finds so many changes upon return. He is amazed but not dissapointed, because whatever happens to California will happen, but the old feel of Santa Moncia and Venice will always be felt by those who seek it. Even though Corperate America seems to have moved in on the Always-Summer Bohemian feel of the aformentioned places, they still seem to keep their charm. There will always be a guitarist, case open and strings vibrating sitting on the Venice Boardwalk during a sweltering summers day with the twinkle in his eye of the way it all used to be.
Anyone love Jack's Mannequin like I do?

I've heard of this band, but their music doesn't sound like it'll be up my alley. Any good songs to recommend?

OOOOOOOhhhhhh, I love JM!!! ^_^ "The Mixed Tape" is currently my... 4th most played song on my iPod. I love it soooo much. I also like "Bruised," "Dark Blue," "MFEO" [part 1 especially], and "La La Lie." The other ones are great too, but those are my favorites. It's nice to know there are some other Jack's Mannequin fans on DH!!
