i would just like to suggest that if your looking for something to read, you cant go wrong with Orson Scott Card.
soon many more people will know his name as Ender's Game is meing made into a movie.
i suggest reading both ender's game, and his parallel novel, Ender's Shadow.
enchantment, all of the ES series, the alvin maker series, mack street, hart's hope, all good(everything ive read so far).
so... discuss OSC's books here,
Lost boys is on my list, but ive been really busy lately.

I'm afraid I havent read anything of his outside of the Enderverse.
However, I did greatly enjoy the books in that metaseries, and plan on reading more of his books at some point.

do you include ender's shadow through shadow of the giant in your description of "Enderverse"?
if not i highly suggest you read those. i actually liked Ender's shadow much better then ender's game. (though they were both still great)
im actually odd in that i havent read anything past ender's game in that series. but OSC is making one last book to that series, so ill either wait for the last book or for the movie to come out.

do you include ender's shadow through shadow of the giant in your description of "Enderverse"? Yes. Otherwise it would be the Ender series. Enderverse encompasses that whole Ender universe. And I personally think as a series, Bean's was more solid.

i agree. orson himself has said that, while Ender is most popular now, he has learned alot since he wrote that book and he personally believes that some of his later books would be more respected after he died.

Yes, these are great. I've read EVERYTHING in the Enderverse. Can't wait for Shadows in Flight. Bean > Ender
These books changed my life.
I've also read Empire.

how was empire? i heard mixed reviews. ive stayed away from it so far because of Card's very pronounced political beliefs. also, "Shadows in Flight"?! i thought he was making another book in the ender sequel, but ending the bean series at "shadow of the giant." i was gonna point out a major spoiler here because... well i wont even give my reasoning. osc's books are soo good you should feel shamed for trying to spoil yourself... if you havent read SOTG that is... but Angry Crustacean, should know what i mean... sorta. anyways... do tell about shadows in flight... spoiler tags when needed obviously.

Dude, those books I have reread so many times. OSC is my favorite author. Empire was good, slow start, but good story and action sequences. Plus it has a Scorpion Tank on the cover! He's making Ender in Exile: Ganges which is a prequel to Speaker For The Dead. Shadows in Flight interests me the most though. I have a feeling it's going to tie the gap between Ender's and Bean's sagas. Yeah, no spoilers for OSC. They're too good to be spoiled. Not much is known about Flight. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shadows_in_FlightDON"T CLICK IF YOU HAVEN'T READ GIANT!

thanks for the info... i suppose ill wait for exile before continuing ender's saga then.
cant believe i forgot to mention this, but although it is a good book, do not make Hart's Hope for the first OSC book you read. it is a brilliant book, but is is very dark and different from his normal style. do not read without a mature and prepared mind.
Treason, is another stand alone that is sorta similar in that respect, but not as much. i recommend it. (as i would any of his writings)
