Animal Farm by George Orwell Didnt understand it at all. You can't be serious, that book was absolutely hysterical! (In its own little way) The worst book I ever read was The Giver. It was just so bizarre and none of it made any sense. I admit that I did read it in sixth grade and that I probably didn't understand it very well but I still think that book was really out there...

Catcher in the Rye by JD Salenger (puhleeeeeze) On the Road by Jack Kerouac (double puhleeeeeze)
Actually anything by the above two authors is fatuous, self-indulgent, clap-trap. I encourage everyone in the whole wide world not to fall for the hype.

I concur. It's obviously not a simple book to understand but I greatly enjoyed it.

^^ No, I understood it. I've been assigned that book so many times and analyzed the stupid piece of trash to death and had it explained and re-explained by the most pompous and erudite of teachers and professors.
If I wrote that garbage I'd become a recluse too.

Animal Farm by George Orwell Didnt understand it at all. I know. But at the same time, it kind of cracked me up when the animals were killing each other. I was just laughing at the stupidity of it.

Well I just didn't like the book very much. I didn't like any of the characters in it, because either they were evil or stupid one of the two. Plus I was forced to read it in 10th grade, which I was not happy about.

^I love Animal Farm. Such a great movie and book.
I don't really outright 'dislike' any books... I haven't really read any horribly bad ones.
Nevermind. I forgot about Deathly Hollows.

One book I don't like is Uncle Tom's Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe. It's long, boring, and too hard to read. >_<

~|EarthbenderM|~That novel actually played a large role in American History before the Civil War. It showed the Northerners how bad the life of a slave in the South really was. It also ticked the Southerners off because it showed how cruel they were to there slaves and gave them a bad image. I do not remember when I read it but it was definitely not a bad read.

Wow, a lot of people dislike classic literature. It may not always be a thrill ride, but it can be amazingly enriching and deep when approached with the right mindset....Ah well, to each their own!
As for books I dislike, I'd have to say anything written by Sherrilyn Kenyon.
Trashy romance novels are bad. Trashy vampire-centric romance novels are worse. Trashy vampire- centric romance novels with cookie cutter, Mary Sue-esque heroines are just short of apocalyptic.
I read her work on my friend's recommendation a few years ago.
That one scene...I haven't eaten whipped cream since *dies*

Jekyll and Hyde
Just plain boring. The ending sucked and it was so ... bad. I didn't like it.

TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD.
Urgh....
@kaneda: Everyone has their opinions and I'm tired of your bashing. I swear, you bash everything in every board. If I dislike Golden Compass, my opinion is valid and it's not wrong. I could say the same thing to you. "LOL, I like Golden Compass." "Wow, your taste in books suck."
