Just finished Memoirs of a Geisha today. Overall this was a splendid book. I really enjoyed myself reading about a different culture. I found it all quite interesting. I would recommend reading this good, if you like to learn about different cultures!

The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka
Summer reading... Ugh...
I don't really like it very much, it seems really unrealistic. Honestly, I think the main character is insane and that the whole book is a figment of his deranged imagination, because nothing makes sense.

Skinny. It's about a girl who is anorexic and is dealing with it. It has the point of view of her and her sister. After reading a bit, I think she turned anorexic because her father didn't love her, but loved her sister instead.

I'm reading Storm Front by Jim Butcher, The Amber Spyglass by Phillip Pullman and Katani's Jamacian Holiday by Annie Bryant.
I'm rereading Amer Spyglass cause I love it and Storm Front is the main book I'm reading now. It's really good. Katani's Jamacian Holiday is a book in a series for 10 year olds, but I love the series. lol

I've been reading Pride and Prejudice, went and bought it yesterday and can't get myself to put it down. I fell in love with the movie and watch it all the time, so I thought what the hey, time to read the book. It's pretty good, kind of hard to read though (god I don't know how people could have talked like that @_@), but I'm planning on reading it again a second time right after I finish it just so I can actually understand it and pick up on things I may have missed the first time through. XD

@ardor: The first time I read P&P (8th grade) I found it difficult, but school helped me out a bit when we went over difficult texts. Once you get used to the writing style, it's not so bad. 19th century talk isn't AS bad as Shakespearian. Haha!
As for me, I'm reading at the moment The Da Vinci Code. Heaven help me finish the poor book. D: It's a great book, but I keep putting it down, and not picking it back up!

Yeah, a few months ago when I was thinking of buying the book I picked up a copy and read the first couple paragraphs and I was like oh no way in heck am I going to try and read that right now. But I'm feeling like I'm getting used to the writing style, the beginning was a struggle, but it was a whole lot easier to adjust to than some other books I've read in the past. 19th century talk might not be as bad as Shakespearian, (although I found a certain liking to his style) but my goodness, how cruel women were to each other!! XDD

XD I read it in World Lit. My teacher is so amazing, she really helps you understand what's going on. I'm about to read Sense and Sensibility, after Jane Eyre (Brit Lit summer reading - I already read Wuthering Heights)

Hm. Well, I just started Sold no less than two hours ago. And I'll be done before 11 if I keep it up. So I guess I'll be starting another book soon.
