I heard nothing but good about Okami, but I have yet to play it. Has anyone beat the game already? If so, how long did it take you to beat it? Well, according to the game log, it took me 34 hours to beat it total. Realistically several months. I started playing in the middle of October...beat it at the end of March. But that's because I have school and work etc. EXCELLENT game. I strongly suggest you play it.

I love this game so much. The whole premise is awesome. Great story, I love the whole sacrificial maiden thing.

Well, a long time ago in ancient Japan there was this 8 headed snake monster named Orochimaru. He terrorized this village for a while and ate maidens until this giant white wolf named Kiba Shiranui and some other dude seal the monster away. But the wolf died and became a statue. 100 years later, some guy accidentally frees the monster and spreads evil energy all over Japan. The wolf statue comes back to life as Amaterasu and you have to save the world. (You could look this up on wiki but I wanted to explain it because I love this durn game so much =P)
You use the power of nature to kill things. Yes, weird I know. But it's more awesome than it sounds. You can freeze time and draw stuff on the screen with the joystick to control nature (wind, time, water, fire, lightning, ice etc.,). The graphics are absolutely stunning imo. The game and storyline are really good too. The fighting is a little button mashing here and there, but it's alot more fun if you figure out how to use your "Celestial Brush power" with your weapons. And then there's puzzles and crazy tasks and whatnot. I loved it. I was depressed when I beat it, but I still wanna play it all over again.

This is game has possibly the most stunning graphic design I've ever seen. The watercolors in the game are just breathtaking, and the characters are always fun; I've never found them annoying despite their squeaky voices. The story seems a little basic, but I haven't quite played through all of it yet. This is probably the best game out for PS2 right now, even with God of War II.

I actually thought the story had quite a bit of depth. I loved the characters too, even the voices didn't get on my nerves Well... Kushi's did but I found her character awesome after her scene at the Sacrifice Ceremony.

I love the graphics, but what I really love is the soundtrack, I was able to find it and it is awesome. It's a wopping 5 CDs long but it had every single note played in the game so it is worth it.
I was wondering if anyone had any tips for beating blockhead grande? I tried to bust that thing for 20 minutes and I could never get all the spots right.

I hate Blockhead Grande, I memorize the spots by taking it into regard where it appear on his face. This game would have twice as good if it was on the Wii.

I cheat! ^^;;
I have a friend stand beside the TV with an erasable marker and draw numbers in the spots on the screen in the order they light up.... ^^;;;;;;;
Yeah. Lame. I know.

Where is that guy, I never found him. Plus, how many spots light up on him, 10?
Yeah, the soundtrack rocks. I love most of the tracks, but The Sacrificial Arrow (I think that's what it's called) is one of my favorites.

I started a thread on this a few months back....No one replied! Oh well, a thread reborn! I got Okami from my friend during X-Mas. I love the gameplay and the plot. The soundtrack is awesome too, and the graphics are astonishing. Okami is probably one of the last good games released on the PS2. And I agree with Confettie. Okami would be uber awesome on the Wii. ^_^ The only problem that I have with it now is that I can't get past that dang Blockhead! And I don't even wanna think about Blockhead Grande. ;_;

Blockhead Grande! I hate that stupid BLOCK!!! I didn't think about the erasble marker though, before I taped a peice of paper to the screen. I still haven't beat him!! That is the LAST stray bead I need. On the second time I started the game I now have over 65 hours logged in. Unless I don't have enough praise I've got everything to beat the game 100% and get all Karmic transformers. (Excluding the one stray bead.)

I saw this at the store tonight, and it looked really good, but what's it about? Ancient wolf god with the power to use a magic brush to change the world is awakened to fight a crazy evil. sounds black and white-ish (games not color)
