It's a fun game but it just feels too much like Zelda (seriously, that insect that follows you around is basically a more annoying Navi). Still, the gameplay is better than it's gorgeous graphics which is saying a lot. Sometimes the framerate stutters, but it's all good. The puzzles are kind of nice... but that bug completely ruins them by telling you how to beat them EXACTLY.

Yeah. Issun is pretty annoying.
But he doesn't always guide you.

Amazing game. I finally beat it last week. Some of those puzzles are pretty nuts. Like Tobi, I won't go too into details. But know that Tobi is a pain in the rump. This absolutely has to be one of my all time favorite games. What sucks though is that in the states, it technically failed, even though IGN gave it a game of the year award. Probably because the whole game is so heavily rooted in Japanese culture, Americans probably just wouldn't get any of it.

Well Americans are the ones trying to wipe every species from the face of the Earth, and only a select few of us(like me) still like wolves. Guess that doesn't sit well with all the environmental stuff in the game.
Okami has to be the best(but longest) game I've ever played. I just beat it a couple days ago but I got in in November. It's not that it was hard, I just wasted way too much time looking for everything and doing stuff over again to get it perfect. I'm actually playing it again, but I'm NOT looking forward to doing Tobi's little races again...
Ever since watching Ginga Nagareboshi Gin and Ginga Densetsu Weed(see my topic in the Anime/Manga board), I've been trying to figure out what breeds the canine warriors are. I know that Chu(Hayabusa) is most likely a Kai-Ken or a Tora-Ge Akita because of the stripes, Tei is a Tosa Inu, and Ume(Jin) is probably an Akita. I'll have to look more closely at the others. Don't ask me my reason for doing this, I just felt like it.

I really badly want this game; I first saw it in a game store and almost missed the movie I was going to see because I could not stop looking at the screen. Its $100 over here so I have to wait until after I get God of War 2, which is also $100. I'm in the middle of drawing the wolf from it, she is so much fun to draw, a really amazing design.

Er, not exactly. It's done in cell-shade mode in a way to give it that ancient Japanese art scroll effect. So clever on the designers' part. If there's a soundtrack to this game, I want it.

If there's a soundtrack to this game, I want it. Well after you beat the game, there is a menu that lets you listen to the music, so its a pretty safe bet that it's ripped and on a fansite somewhere.

On a review I read, it said this game didn't have the best graphics but one of the best plots made in this day and age.

I heard nothing but good about Okami, but I have yet to play it. Has anyone beat the game already? If so, how long did it take you to beat it?
