Okay, not just Dark Crusade but also vanilla Dawn of War and the Winter Assault expansion pack. Anyone else played these games or at least one of them?
IMO Dark Crusade at least has much stricter unit balancing (no more vehicle spam and such).

I have the original Dawn of War, it's pretty cool. Online sucks, though.

I recommend Dark Crusade. The new races (Tau and Kroot) are cool but Tau has a disadvantage for not being able to build turrets. Now the gameplay is more to infantry push, less tank rush. I still hate the Falcon grav tank spam tactic though because I don't know how many times they massacred my troops. As for online, I haven't really fared well (1 win, 6 losses). I have a slightly better chance winning a Control Area victory compared to Annihilate. Why do many people choose Annihilate anyway?

Annhilate is more fun, Control Area is just getting troops out quickest, Annihilate requires you to build an army and use more strategy.
In my online games, I was Space Marines and I got pinned in 2-on-2 by Dark Reapers. I hated it.

I prefer Annihilate for smaller maps. For bigger maps, Control Area really makes a race against time to beat the person controlling the locations.
So far I haven't encountered Eldar players using Reapers against me (most of the time it's the dreaded Falcon spam). That's why in team games I attack the Eldar first. Playing Chaos is much more enjoyable now with the 'Purge the Weak' upgrade that doubles the Aspiring Champions hp and gives a +100 hp bonus to everyone in his squad. I like to annoy other players with the infiltration ability for Chaos Marines (in Dark Crusade, they can fire while invisible).

Those Necron Flayed Ones sure are annoying since they reduce the morale of infantry around them but that isn't as bad as the Necron Lord whose artifacts can either make it stronger or adept at disrupting attacks. A Doombolt and some flamers (or whatever way to inflict massive morale damage) on the Flayed Ones should take care of them quickly.

That includes all other units that can use 'Infiltration' (Rangers, Scouts, Tankbustaz, Assasin, Stealthsuit). Depending on how you play it, it can be either advantageous or down right annoying (found myself scrambling to get detector units when under attack by cloacked Chaos Space Marines).

But can't Seargents/Squad Leaders detect them, as well as commanders?

Not anymore. Only detector units (skull probe, psyker, librarian, cultists, big mek) can detect them. Detection rules have changed in DC.

So, basically, Chaos rapes?

Unless you have detector units because Tau Firewarriors can basically massacre them since they have much more superior range. That reminds me, the Necron Builder Scarabs can also detect cloaked units (I forgot which is the Eldar detector unit since I rarely play as Eldar).

I never got the whole "long range" thing. Do they have bigger Fields of Vision? Even then, it can't be that much of an advantage, since the screen is only so big.

The Tau players usually use Stealthsuits or Kroot carnivores to reveal terrain and the enemy (they use Pathfinders and Vespid Stingwings as detector units). Once the Chaos Space Marines are revealed, they will start dropping like flies in the face of pulse rifle fire.
