You didn't fall for my FFA answer for one second, did you.
hehe
I haven't played in awhile due to being busy, but I can see how the boredom with the game would set in. Thankfully, I've had a forced break.
You know what most ppl would go crazy over is the fact that I got immediately bored with COD4. I never even finished the single player. I think I've played enough of those games that it just feels like the same worn out thing to me. The difference with Halo is the balance of vehicles and other items you can use, that can really warp gameplay (honestly good or bad) into something markedly different, every time.

See, I think I'm a bit weird in that I haven't gotten tired of campaign play yet. But I try it on different difficulties, with different skulls enabled, and try different tactics when I go through a certain level, so it stays interesting for me. That, and I'm constantly challenging myself to get better. I'm improving a lot these days, and every time I go through the game I want to do more. That way, hopefully, when I dive full-on into online multiplayer, I won't get totally pwned.

I'm trying to get all the achievements right now. So far I got all the meta-game ones (with a little help ) and marathon man. Now I'm trying to beat the game on Legendary and get those random ones. I might need some help on the Legendary campaign, I'm getting my butt handed to me.

^I know what you feel, but I have come up with a totally boring process to beat Legendary! 1. find cover 2. Look out of cover for about 3 seconds and shoot your butt off trying to headshot with whatever weapon you have. 3.Return to cover and regenerate. 4. Repeat. If you follow this process you will finish the first lvl of Halo in about 3 hours (: Good Luck!
Note: This process does not work for the Flood... Try and figure something else out to kill them.

The Flood are easy, just head shot with the battle rifle then punch the corpse so they don't get up. Works on the majority of the flood except for those wall crawlin pure forms.

In Halo 3 I actually find The Flood to be easier opponents sometimes than the Grunts. The Flood are particularly susceptible to physical attacks (the spiker's actually great for bashing them around, and works well when shooting them, too). I find the Grunts tougher because of all the grenade throwing (including the little cusses that had one in each hand and basically charge right into you). It's made all the worse when you have the Catch and Cowbell skulls enabled. Btw, Tungsten - sorry we couldn't play last night! We were in the middle of a campaign level, and had to get to bed when we were done. But we want to catch up with you again soon!

Thank You Luthien and Skithas (and mercman) for helping me get the last 3 meta-campaign achievements! As always, it is super fun to play with you guys! =D
It's always refreshing to play with people who approach the game differently. I would prefer to move around and keep my distance and aim and pick off the enemies. Playing with you all is like playing with a herd of charging elephants, and it turns out to be quite fun!

Glad you had fun, Danny! I'm kind of a "stay back and strike from a distance" gal myself (hence the abysmally low scores last night for me!) - but Merk's definitely a "let's just charge in" type of guy. Which works for getting those points achievements very well! We tease him so much about his "must go faster" philosophy, but those time modifiers really make a difference when you're trying to rack up points. But my own personal style is very much that of a slow-poke. Half the time I only catch up because I get warped to another checkpoint.

I really think that was the first time I had ever been warped to catch up with someone, and we were all warped in to where he was 123543425 times. =o I will reiterate that going fast was a nice change though, because my strat is usually to crank it up to legendary with a couple of gold skulls on, and slowly and methodically pick my way through, which takes a long, long time. You can bet nothing's alive when I'm done, though.

Yeah it turns out that I need to beat all the levels in co-op in order to get the Legendary achievement, I can't mix and match single and co-op
