By old I mean like 1980's and beyond. You've probably heard me talking about Ginga Nagareboshi Gin before. It's a dog anime from 1986 or somewhere around that point. It definitely has a very unique style to it and for the most part I really like the unique twists and turns its at first glance simplistic plot takes you on. It spans a total of 21 episodes, and it makes for a nice watch if you like dogs and have the patience to track it down. Youtube is cracking down on anime more than ever now, and even I'm having trouble keeping up with where they're moving the episodes next. So unfortunately all I can show you from this neat classic is the opening sequence. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q4_mrdCI6Rw&NR=1

Does Ranma ½ count as being old? I know it's silly, but it cracks me up so much...

Oh, by the way, for anyone familiar with Excel Saga, Ginga Nagareboshi Gin was what they were parodying in episode 10.

I watched an episode of that. I didnt like it too much.... i like the newer one better, whats it called? Silver Fang Weed? The real Japanese title of it is Ginga Densetsu Weed, but the group that fansubs it translates the title to "Silver Fang Legend Weed." Although according to an Japanese/English online dictionary, "ginga" means Milky Way or galaxy. It's a bit strange, I know. I like both series equally actually. But the newer one(GDW) on occasion has some...issues. I think it's in episodes 2, 8, and 22 that the animation is extremely screwy for no apparent reason. But the rest of it looks pretty nice. My personal favorite characters are Jerome, Kyoushiro, Tesshin, and the Kai dogs. I'd say my favorite character from the older series(GNG) was John. He's a bada** killer and an adorable German Shepherd at the same time. I love it when the good guys are allowed to be jerks. Just makes them all the more lovable.

Tekkaman Blade (1992-93) was classic, though it was a remake of Space Knight Tekkaman (1975)
The show actually had very good potential for deep plot progression but they just kinda bulled through the ending. The action scenes were great as well as the armor designs.
They made some really horrific OVA sequels and I'd rather not even mention them.

I actually liked Marmalade Boy {{1993-1994}} it's still pretty old, since I was alive during the 80s xD . But yeah, that was probably one of the first animes for shipping, I mean the whole anime was ships. Of course Deviantart wasn't around back then, but Random artwork Yeah, but overall still a good anime.

It looks like one of the older ones.
Most people at my school had Case Closed as their first anime.
