My mom and dad don't know my sisters and I adore anime. Bwahaha, it's so great. I feel devious and rebellious! >3

My mom says the contrary. She says that guys in anime and video games look eerily gorgeous. By "eerily", she means effeminate. And whoa! She just watched another eppie of Kenshin with me! She even asked about one the characters. Here's how it went: "That guy just stabbed himself. ...Why?" "He's nuts, mom." "Ehh!" At least she got somewhere. I remember my dad watched Fullmetal vs Flame with me. I picked it because it was funny and my dad likes funny. But he fell asleep during the episode. I tried showing him Death Note once, too, because I thought he'd like seriousness, but he didn't. The only thing he cared about was why Soichiro had a piece of hair sticking out from his head. -_-

^Lol! It's funny how my mom makes fun of anime and such, but then she sometimes puts up with it and watches pieces of it. And giggles at the humor. Kinda makes you feel good, in a bully victim way.

I have to rely on my friends to discuss anime with. My little sister (she's 12) starts watching a lot of stuff with me, but then there are the perpetual questions if she doesn't understand something, or the freaking out at any sign of yaoi, yuri, or creepy fandom. She makes unneccesary comments sometimes when I'm trying to watch the show. It gets annoying when she wants to watch the shows with me a lot. And my parents will never accept that anime refers to more than one show. It could be shojo, shonen, anime, american anime (like avatar I mean), Miyazaki movies, but to them it's all the same. They just don't get that I AM watching a variety of stuff. I mean, Death Note, Avatar, Blood+, and Naruto, for example, are all very different shows.
Then again they don't know that I'm reading manga like Ceres or Alice 19th with hentai and sex, but they are really good series xD

^Ceres ain't no hentai. XD Even if Aya and Tooya are at it like bunnies in every volume. XD
Yeah. I don't watch stuff with freaking fandom in it in front my parents. Actually, I don't watch that kind of stuff period. It freaks me out. The most I'll watch in front of my parents is anime with bloody violence in it. And I watch enough of that on live TV. sooooo there isn't really a differnce there.

Well, I mean my sister freaked out in Blood+ when Gregory posing as the blond girl was hitting on Saya, stuff like that. And in the Naruto intro when it shows Sasuke up from his lower back, she always goes "Naked Sasuke!" o__O Whereas I just stare because it's hawt, she just has to comment and ruin it.
Generally, my parents don't watch the anime with me anyway. My dad has been in the room a few times when I watched avatar but he usually leaves. He was in the room once when I was watching Bleach and they were describing the method of execution in the Soul Society. He just looked at me and went, "That's nice."
Well Alice 19th volume 4 or 5 I forget which has like a whole fight thing where Alice and Mayura are naked xD

And I ain't a pervert! >.> But I avoid watching stuff with sexual content/innuendos in front of parents, albeit they probably know what kind of stuff I read... But I ain't gonna mouth feed that fact to them by watching it right in front of them. lol

Well I guess I haven't seen the worst, because Alice 19th and InuYasha are the most nudity that I've seen really. But it should be that way, I'm only 15.
But there are sexual jokes in just about every anime. They're hard to avoid. But my parents don't watch stuff with me unless they happen to be in the room. And my sister doesn't pick up on everything.
I've told my parents that the stuff I watch isn't completely clean. But hey, it's better than MTV and other crap like that xD

She thinks it's wierd, my mom. She's really only knows about Inuyasha and Naruto.. I suspect she thinks Avatar in an anime.
Anyway, she thinks that these are all "serious" cartoons. Lol. She hasn't seen the trippier animes.. has no idea Ecchi or Hentai exist.

^ Never show her anything by or based off of Ken Akamatsu's works. He is the master of ecchi.

^Oh lord. I've got three of his books (He did "Love Hina" right? Or "Aiori Aoshi" or "Ah! My Goddess" or something? Whatever they're all equally perverted.). I know that Japan is the most perverted country in the world and all, it kinda saddens me that some of this mangaka are part of the perverted population. Of course, Ken isn't the worst. I lost my innocence in anime when I was 15 (No I didn't loose it to hentai. I lost it to really, really hot- you know.). But yeah. Perversion and innuendos are in ALL media, both domestic and foreign. My mom is still in the old times unfortunately. When we were watching Rurouni Kenshin the other day, she got all "Say wha?!" when Sanosuke said, "pisses me off." All I say is, "Mom. You just heard them say that word 5 times on 'Tin Man' on Sci-fi and 20 million times everywhere else."

My parents mostly ignore it. They don't really care what I watch as long as I do my homework and stuff. Though my mom was a bit creeped out when she watched a more violent episode of Death Note with me. XD
My brother, on the other hand... I was watching Blood Plus, and my brother came in and sat down. After a few minutes of watching, he was like, "Where'd the Avatar go?" Me: Uh, I'm not watching Avatar.
A similar thing happened with Death Note. >.<

Truth be told, Negima! was much worse in it's first volume than in the first THREE volumes of Love Hina. His stories are cute and everything. It's just too bad he has to add naked women to the mix. Yuu Watase and most shoujo artists are much worse than him, though. The first manga I've ever read was Imadoki! (by Watase XD). Of course, that series had no nudity and few perverted moments. But the second series I read was Alice 19th and it all went down from there. XD

^Aw. Yuu Watase ain't that bad. I started Imadoki, but I returned the book to the store cuz I needed the money (yes, I'm THAT cheap. Cheaper than just reading the book in the store.), Alice 19th wasn't that bad to me, Fushigi Yuugi - being my favorite Shojo if all time - eh. Some of the nudity seemed neccesary (SOME of it). Appare Jipanga! - well, that wasn't even released in the U.S. (I read the scanlations online, but it's a really good and funny series), but the lewdness was hi-larious. Absolute Boyfriend..... I only read the first chapter so I don't really know.
But CERES....
THAT series you need to watch out for.
(Albeit it's good.)

My dad watched Death Note with me yesterday. But he missed the first half where Light kills Raye Penber . The rest of the episode after that was slow and he was all, "Why aren't they doing anything? Why is all they're doing talking? Why don't their mouths move to the words?" I was trying to show him that some anime has wonderful animation and that Death Note was intelligent, since he thinks it's all mindless fighting. *sighs* If he doesn't like Death Note, then there's no hope for him. Oh, Chibi, Chibi, what are we going to do with you, you and your obvious lies in your sig. But what DO you mean, If he doesn't like Death Note, then there's no hope for him? I, myself, absolutely hate Death Note, and I'm as big an otaku as many other here on DH. Good animation, yes, but I hate the story. And not because no one ever does anything. It's the Light. I hate that guy. He thinks he's so smart. I could do the same things as he did in the same amount of time and no one would be the wiser. Sometimes I think he's trying to get caught...
