So, what do your parents think of anime?

Hating a character is no reason to totally dislike the whole show. Many fans of DN despise Light but they still watch/read it. And if Light's character were any different, then DN would not be the same story. It's his arrogance, his smarts, and pride that lead to his downfall. If he was a happy-go-lucky guy with an average brain, he would've been caught. He might have not used the Death Note at all if he was a happy guy!!!! Wouldn't have a story then, would we?

And I've shown him many anime and the most recent was DN. He hasn't liked anything I've shown him.

I have a feeling that I should hide the content of Ceres from my parents awhile longer. My dad was kind of freaked out when I told him that the fantasy novels I'm reading are filled with lots of baby-making activities xD

Every series has something. I mean, even Avatar, tamest of the tame when it comes to content, had Sokka on the cactus juice and some hawt kissing scenes.

On some shows there are characters I don't like, but sometimes they redeem themselves. I'm still really irritated with Sasuke and I'd hate him if he weren't so hot, but Neji, who I used to find annoying, has at least shut up about destiny now and redeemed himself. But I can't actually think of any character in an anime that I HATE.

Sorry, but telling your folks about the, er, "emotional action" that goes on in some manga is what get's these soccer moms to start this gay @$$ petitions to ban anime from America (albeit they never work.).

Yeah I feel the same about redeemed characters too sometimes. Like Aoshi in Rurouni Kenshin. He annoyed me with his antics to kill Kenshin (a.k.a. Battousai) just to justify putting flowers on the graves of his fallen comrades, but after he got the $#!% knocked out of him a second time and became an ally of Kenshin, he became alright and mega sweet.

(I know that you have no idea what I'm talking about, but I just had to throw that in there. XD)
