Been both looking forward to and slightly dreading the live-action movie coming in November, but mostly looking forward to. And now I've seen a little mention about it in TV Guide, which lets us know who'll be playing the main characters. I don't know the kids from anything, and I'm a bit upset that Gwen doesn't seem to have red hair (and also that the actress is a bit old to play Gwen). But Lee Majors as Grandpa? Awesome.

Perhaps no one cares, since there have been no replies... or maybe that's just because it hasn't aired yet. But I thought I'd bump this thread, since this is the week... the movie airs this wednesday, with chances to catch it again all weekend. Of course, I'll be working when it's on the first time, and probably won't want to watch it when I get home. Gotta go to sleep after work, get up in the morning and drive north. Which means I won't get to see the movie til at least saturday night. Might as well just catch it when it reruns on Toonami.... But I'm still looking forward to it....

Actually, I just saw the preview for this movie in the theatre yesterday. It looks cool, but my family doesn't like too much animated movies (except avatar . I plan to see it though no matter that they'll bother me to death.

Well, I just watched this tonight. And sadly, I thought it was pretty lame. The fx weren't that bad, but the writing and the acting were worse than the cartoon. The lowest point I thought was Ben acting like he'd never heard of Plumbers, an obvious excuse for the writers to explain it to the audience in case anyone wasn't familiar with the cartoon. Which was just stupid, especially considering everything else about the movie pretty much depended upon the audience being familiar with the cartoon. It also bugged me alot that the movie acted like Ben, Gwen, and Max all lived in the same town, and that there was absolutely nothing about Gwen doing real magic. I thought just maybe she'd do something in the talent show, but no, of course even that was all about the Omnitrix. Besides which the whole bloody story was just so incoherent and nonsensical.... I really really hope the show doesn't even mention these events, because I'd hate for the movie to be considered canon.

Don't double post (I'm talking about when you first started this thread). Honestly, you should know better by now. Anyway, I watched it tonight, and thought it was pretty good for what it was, which obviously wasn't much. Anywho, the sole saving feature? Lee Majors, the only cast member I've heard of, as Grandpa Max. Oh, and I liked the theme song.

Personally I just prefer the cartoon. And I prefer the original version of the song.
As for double posting... well, I just posted something in the questions/help forum....

I like the one they did for the movie. And really, Lee Majors was the only thing the movie had going for it. I like the cartoon better, too.

Nerull, check the timestamp: his two posts are *months* apart. They're neither spam nor a pointless bump, but rather contribute to the discussion. Please be polite to your fellow members. And yeah, this movie did look painfully horrible. From the commercial I saw, it looked like they spent most of the budget on alien effects (which did look cool, btw) ... and had little left for anything else.

Here is how I rate it...
Special FX = 7/10 Story = 4/10 Acting = 2/10
