Haha, yea serisously! Here are some pictures from it - Basically the set is one giant death trap. The ring wraith looks pretty cool, though. I'd like to hear the music from this to see if its truly terrible but I can't find it anywhere. Maybe there are samples on the website, though.

I actually really love the LotR musical. I've heard bits and pieces, and as far as the concept goes, it's entertaining. There is this one really great song Frodo and Sam sing (cannot think of the name; it's the scene where they're talking about being in songs and tales) and I think it's very lovely and homey and hobbitlike. Gollum's bits are very interesting, Galadriel is a bit bizarre but appropriate...those are the only impressions I can think of right now. I didn't go in expecting it to be a perfect adaptation and it certainly exceeded and vague expectations I had. ETA: Press reels are here

Some of my favorite musicals along with my favorite songs:
Singin' in the Rain: Yeah, it's a classic. * "Singin' in the Rain" * "Make 'Em Laugh" * "Moses"
Moulin Rouge: I was highly skeptical, but I found it surprisingly fun. * "Roxanne de Tango" * "The Show Must Go On"
Avenue Q: The adult Sesame Street. * "What do you do with a B.A. in English?/It Sucks to Be Me" * "The Internet is for Porn" * "I Wish I Could Go Back to College"
Evil Dead the Musical: I kid you not. * "Housewares Employee" * "What the F*** was that?" * "Join Us" * "All the men in my life keep getting killed by Candarian demons"
Hair: Hooray for Hippies! * "Aquarius" * "Hair" * "The Flesh Failures"
Tommy by The Who: The 1st Rock Opera Ever * "Amazing Journey/Sparks" * "Acid Queen" * "Pinball Wizard" * "See Me Feel Me Listening to You"

*points to icon* Rent fan. xD But I also love Wicked, Chicago, and Disney musicals (Aladdin, Lion King, The Little mermaid, etc). I've been curious about Avenue Q, though (I feel in love with "It Sucks to be Me"). I'm also fond of the classics too: West Side Story, The Sound of Music, Singin' in the Rain, Calamity Jane, and The Wizard of Oz are my favorites.

*points to icon* Rent fan. xD RENT! your icon is love. I've come back to RENT recently after a sort of "meh" period because the current cast on Broadway (or, rather, the cast on Broadway prior to Jaime Lee Kirchner leaving in March) makes my life.

I saw RENT last December with her in it! She was my favorite in the show, though Mimi was always my favorite anyway so that might've had something to do with it. I also really enjoyed Chris J. Hanke's Mark and whoever played Maureen. She was an understudy and I don't remember her name but she was pretty awesome.

West side Story is really cheesy, but it's still great, its what you get when you mix The outsiders and Romeo and Juliet.

whoever played Maureen. She was an understudy and I don't remember her name but she was pretty awesome. Karmine Alers & Haven Burton I think are the main Maureen covers...so you probably saw one of them? but gaaah, Jaime. She's ridiculously amazing.

I looked in my playbill, and it was indeed Haven Burton.
