I just watched the trailers for this film last night I am sooooo badly want to see it!!!!! Everything about it look breath taking and amazing. Based on Frank Miller's graphic novel. In the Battle of Thermopylae of 480 BC an alliance of Greek city-states fought the invading Persian army in the mountain pass of Thermopylae. Vastly outnumbered, the Greeks held back the enemy in one of the most famous last stands of history. Persian King Xerxes lead a Army of well over 1 000 000 (Persian king Xerxes before war has about 1 700 000 army) men to Greece and was confronted by 300 Spartans, 700 Thespians and other Slave soldiers. Xerxes waited for 10 days for King Leonidas to surrender or withdraw left with no options he moved. The battle lasted for about 3 days and after which all 300 Spartans were killed. The Spartan defeat was not the one expected as a local shepherd named Ephialtes defected to the Persians and informed Xerxes of a separate path through Thermopylae, which the Persians could use to outflank the Greeks. 300 official Site

The Persions had A LOT less than 1 million at the real battle. More like 250,000. Second, there were about 10,000 Greeks. Third, they weren't all slaves. There were tons of Athens hoptlites.

^Hollywood it's not known for being historically accurate. The price to pay for really good entertainment...lol. I am loving the way it has been filmed, it has a sort of rustic/burnt look to it, looks beautiful.

Keep in mind that the movie is an adaptation of Frank Miller's graphic novel 300, not actually based on very many historical facts. I'd approach the film as if it were based on a myth/legend rather any history. Regardless of that, the movie is gonna rock very hard. IGN gave it 5 out of 5 stars in their advance review There's not a lot of spoiler, at least nothing a fan of the film wouldn't already know. movies.ign.com/articles/763/763580p1.htmlAlso if you're lucky enough to be near an IMAX theatre, 300 will be released in IMAX and conventional March 9th www.movieweb.com/news/58/17258.php

I can't wait to see it.
The colors look gorgeous. I just hope it doesn't give me a headache after a while like Sin City did.
I love the music in the trailer. (NIN - Just like You Imagined)

I freaking out I so excited. If they stay close to Frank Millers idea then it should rock. I'm very fond of the spatarns having down reports on them twice this should be interesting. It looks amazaing and if done correctly coould be referecne materal froma aduio vidieo stand point. I wonder when they will release a sound track And if anyone is wondering The battle of Thermopylae en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Thermopylae"In the Battle of Thermopylae of 480 BC, an alliance of Greek city-states fought the invading Persian army at the pass of Thermopylae in central Greece. Vastly outnumbered, the Greeks held back the enemy in one of the most famous last stands of history. A small force led by King Leonidas of Sparta blocked the only road through which the massive army of Xerxes I could pass. After three days of battle a local resident named Ephialtes betrayed the Greeks, revealing a mountain path that led behind the Greek lines. Dismissing the rest of the army, King Leonidas stayed behind with 300 Spartans and 700 Thespian volunteers. Though they knew it meant their own deaths, they held their position and secured the retreat of the other Greek forces. The Persians succeeded in taking the pass but sustained heavy losses, extremely disproportionate to those of the Greeks. The fierce resistance of the Spartan-led army offered Athens the invaluable time to prepare for a naval battle that would come to determine the outcome of the war.[1] The subsequent Greek victory in the Battle of Salamis left much of the Persian navy destroyed. Xerxes was forced to flee to Asia and left his army in Greece under Mardonius, who was to meet the Greeks in battle for one last time. The Spartans and other Greek allies assembled at full strength and decisively defeated the Persians in the Battle of Plataea, putting an end to the Greco-Persian War and with that, Persian expansion into Europe. The performance of the defenders at the battle of Thermopylae is often used as an example of the advantages of training, equipment and good use of terrain to maximize an army's potential, as well as a symbol of courage against overwhelming odds. The heroic sacrifice of the Spartans and the Thespians has captured the minds of many throughout the ages and has given birth to many cultural references as a result." Just that in this case we don't have Brad Pitt fighting like a wimp, which is something that I'm so grateful for. I haven't read the graphic novel, but now I really want to, I like Frank Miller's work, I've read -and watched the film version- Sin City and a Wolverine story he wrote -I'm not really into Wolverine, but I liked the story- Watched the final trailer of "300" and it's so amazing, I can't wait or it.
