Storyboards? That...is an excellent idea! I get scenarios in my head like that all the time, but lack the confidence to make several panels out of it since I don't have a tablet or anything.
Oh man, I had a crack scenario come up in my dreams last week where the Gaang went to look for Song because Katara was ill, only to find that Song had been taken by the governor of Omashu because his son had come down with cholera. Basically, Song was being kept as a nanny/nurse against her will (not because she hated Tom-tom, but because he had already recuperated; they were just keeping her there out of paranoia that he'd get sick again). XD

^Man that's crazy- but it works. I've been using this comic page layout sheet... thing made by Canson; I know that it's meant to appeal to fantards BUT it's surprisingly useful. I might scan in a couple.

I look forward to seeing it! I think I've had quite a handful of scenarios in which Song could be brought back in, one including Bumi somehow. I just never write it down because it seems so cracked at the time--then when I look back on it, it oddly makes some sense.

Deals with Zuko seeing Song again (obviously) and him trying to apologize... there's a very distinct image in my head of him taking her wrist/hand /whatever and bring it up to his scar... XD Those two sound like excellent ideas. In the first, clearly he's learned something ~ it'd be great to see storyboards. And in the second, I love how so many people suddenly realize how much they need her. ^.^ Don't worry about crackiness, just write it down quick and set it aside for a day or three... then come back to it and evaluate.

^Yeah, that's why the idea won't leave my head (it's been marinating in there for awhile and one day it apparently just when 'Screw this!' and unleashed itself). I'm trying to combine the two variations on the concept in my head (and maybe... ya know, give it a beginning. ) since the banter in one is really nice and really cute in the other. I realized while I was drawing it the pacing was the same as the Zutara scar touch... different angles and visual clues though.

Aquavi@ I see your first scenario, and I like it much--but you said you had 2 different scenarios. Are you gonna tell us the other one or are you gonna surprise us? ;D

Not really- like I said, same scar-touching concept, just the dialog is different... the second version/dialog came about after I drew something with Song in her FN outfit with Zuko and... I just need to scan it. It'll make more sense. Even if that sketch I realize has at least two possible captions, one of which including: "We should have sex." "...Over there?" >_> ETA: The thumbnails/story boards... And the sketch illustration...

LOL! Man...looking at what you put up so far...I almost want to ask you to see if you can put together a sort of doujinshi--but I won't because you have school and that'd be foolish to add an assignment you don't get credit for. It just looks amazing!

Well, what's the main goal here? Maybe we can make this a bit of a group project or something. >3

Um... practice? That and the underlaying thought that maybe if I ever make it to s con that I might be able to sell a few copies, but I already know I can't do that with a Soko DJ since... most people don't even remember Song. Not to mention I don't know what sort of copyright issues there are or if anyone has produced a proper ATLA DJ for cons either...

No, I mean, what's the goal of the story here? What point are you trying to get across? If you can determine that, we can come up with different ways to make it happen. And never doubt the doujin market--if you want to practice, you can always sell it online at first--if it does well there, then you can take it further. I know I'd buy a copy from you. Not sure about copyright issues--I mean, if it was such a big deal, I don't think doujinshi could even be made, so....

^ That's the thing, I usually don't have point, just an image/scene (or base concept in the case of my original work...) in my head that usually just grows. I have a tendency to let the idea marinate in my head for a bit when I then [usually] realize that it's a sucky idea and trash it. This scar touch thing has actually been on my mind for months, so I know it's fairly safe, it's just trying to work out the rest of it that's difficult since I have no confidence in my writing capabilities. Japanese copyright laws are different then American ones. This is why I don't really fear doing a DJ of an Anime/Manga because of that reason and because US licensing companies know it's free advertising in a business that hits only a certain amount/subset of people. For a company and series that's US based however is another story since copyright here is more strict and finicky. (As far as I know, I'd just have to break even i.e. make no profit which I can't really afford to do.) ETA: Icons!

Hm...well....hrm. I suppose we can try to tackle it by inserting some context--like, is this a fluffy scene? Dramatic? Funny? Tender?
I usually have a storyline in my head before I draw something, which is why the drawing is never that good. It's always so much funnier/sweeter in my mind--something clearly gets lost in the translation from my brain to my hand. XD

Yeah, everything in my head is fluffly. Despite my cynical view of the world, I'm actually a hopeless romantic... even then, the scene itself isn't fluffy. Well, not incredibly so. Just something believable for them both.
You just have too keep working the same concept from different angles- you'd be surprised the number of ways you can draw the same thing.
