Well, by virtue of her argument then shouldn't Meng get Aang cause she loved him the most? I think it is absurd. You have no way of telling whether Mei or Katara could love Zuko the most at this point. The only thing that seems to give you an indication is that Mei is generally apathetic about things while Katara is compassionate. But I am not shipping for the love of Zuko. I am shipping out of my love for Katara and I think Zuko is her match. You do not seem to be getting the point. She was arguing that, even if Katara starts loving Zuko, she will still not be as devoted to him as she is to Aang. And as she clearly stated, she wasn't even talking about romance here. Katara's devotion to Aang is undeniable. It's been so clearly portrayed, even if you don't want to interpret it romantically, you can't really deny how deep their bond runs. So she thinks that Zuko would still be second to Aang if Katara would start loving him, since he will still not be her emotional priority. Mai, on the other hand, is one of the few characters who has not been shown to have a deep emotional bond with another character yet, so if she'd fall in love with Zuko, then it's much more likely Zuko would be first and foremost to her. He'd be her number one. So yes, I do understand Rawles when she says that she ships Maiko out of love for Zuko. It's an unorthodox argument, but still a valid one.

You have yet to even see whether Katara's bond with Zuko could match if not eclipse her bond with Aang. I say in the cave alone it did for she broke down in front of Zuko something she'd never do with Aang because she has to be strong for him. Zuko got to see the vulnerable side of her. And we don't even know if Mei is capable of feeling any real love. All we know is that she has an attraction to Zuko. I understand this argument but it is like saying that the obsessive stalker is more in love with the stalkee than say the person who is actually the one the stalkee is dating.

Maiko doesn't appeal to me... i think mai just has a crush on zuko.. i don't think it's love.. KATAANG.... although i know that that's the ideal ship(or so they say)... i just can't get myself to support it. When i see those fanart of aang and katara kissing.. it just ... doesn't appeal to me either ...
Zutara... the first time i got that idea i immediatelty shouted in my head, they are so together! hahaha

True.
Or the other reason she doesn't breakdown for Aang is because she knows he's suffered a great loss and there's no real point in the series to have them sit down and discuss death. It's there and they've both acknowledged it. Both characters seem to be the type to get the job down and not dwell.
Katara got angry with Zuko. She was finally able to confront someone she believed to be an enemy. She immediately went on the attack and as soon as Zuko said: "...you don't know what you are talking about." she started to cry and continued yelling. Even then there was no discussion shown about the issue of Katara's mother.
Was it an important scene, yes. But it was also setting us up for the turn Zuko takes later on in the episode and how once again, Katara did let her guard down and it turned around and attacked her.

or she broke down because she wanted zuko to feel guilty and think that it's his fault why her mother died >

I think katara directed her anger for her mothers death on Zuko. She let her guard down and got hurt for it in the end.
I don't like the idea of putting Katara with Zuko so she can fix him. That is something he has to want and change of his own will. I'm not saying that because I hate Zuko, I just don't like the idea of having people fix each other. In my opinion, their personalities don't mesh well. They would have a lot of arguing and Katara would probably lose her patience with him.
Quite frankly though, Zuko has a lot of pride and he is very stuck in his ways. I don't think he is the type to marry outside of his nation, especially not with a water tribe peasant girl. Overall Mai is the best match for him and she has feelings for him. Mai just needs more character development and some flashbacks so we can get a better idea of what she is about. I think there is more to her than meets the eye.
We just have to wait and see. The creators are not going to change the story for shippers and I doubt they put all those little hints for kataang and Maiko in there just to throw us off. They are going to go with what they want. There is hinting that aang is going to choose love over power and defeat the fire lord together with his friends. They just may choose to leave romance out of the finale though and leave it open to interpretation. We just have to wait and see.

Did you guys see the avatar short. Well, first, the avatar crew made Zuko also be in love with Katara. Showing that they believe in it. Second, I know Katara didn't pick Zuko exactly, but we all know Zuko as the Blue Spirit, who she decided to go to the dance with. Also, Katara said NO to Aang. Showing that they are nothing more than friends.

Zuko was clearly shown not to be the Blue Spirit in that short. It is not evidence, it is not proof, and it was nothing more than something fun.

Apathy should not be a typical attitude for anyone and there is nothing wrong with caring about someone and trying to be there for them. It is an apathetic attitude that will not help Zuko. He is someone who craves respect and love. He would get none of those from a person who is just like "whatever" to his problems. But see, I don’t think she would be “whatever” in a relationship with Zuko. One of the first things confirmed about Mai is that she likes Zuko and I don’t think she be all “You’re so [insert negative quality of your preference here], it's making me nauseous.” with him. Of course that’s all how I perceive things. You have yet to even see whether Katara's bond with Zuko could match if not eclipse her bond with Aang. True. But I think the “shipping people with the person that loves them the most” argument holds some water. One of then first things we hear Katara say is “But I believe, Aang can save the world.” and if she got into a relationship with Zuko she would still be that devoted to Aang. While with Mai, since she doesn’t have an emotional bond with another character yet, it’s more likely Zuko will be her number one. Did you guys see the avatar short. Well, first, the avatar crew made Zuko also be in love with Katara. Showing that they believe in it. Showing that they are nothing more than friends. ...Katara said yes to Aang. Yeah, she went with the Blue Spirit but she still said “Aang, that's so sweet! I'd love to go to the dance with you!” Regardless, I really don’t it’s wise to look or hidden foreshadowing or whatever because, as Amira said, that short was nothing more than something fun for the staff to make.
