"-do not be afraid." Ambassador Story smiled, though it was a weak smile and easy to see through. "We are all friends deep down. All supporting one great cause: the great story that we love. It's silly, really, this whole thing...but I don't think anyone is so bent on battle that they won't help those who have lost. I'm afraid, too. But we shouldn't be."
Then the lady hugged the general: the "enemy."
"Don't tell the Zutarians I did that," she grinned as she headed toward the linen door. She turned around before the exit and suluted. But before she could exit the tent...

Somewhere very near the horizon where the flames of the sun can be felt deep within your pores and one's eyes can be highlighted the lightest shade of there own, there sit two people, meditating on the desert sands. "I knew this one day would come...I just never thought it'd be this soon" General Alleluia spoke breaking the long silence that had shrouded her and General Fairy. "War, like one's own destiny follows no path and is never written on stone. It rises like the sun and sets like it as well. We have a long day ahead of us...are you ready" asked General Fairy as she brushed some grains of sand from her Zutarian war robe. "You know that I do not hesitate in battle, General. My Arsenel was born ready, I was born ready and if fate has it her way then my soldiers and I shall fall with no hesitation. Remember that" General Alleluia spoke as she gathered some sand from the desert ground and with ease formed it into small boulders to twirl around her formed fist. "I promise I will...it's just the stillness before battle can be even harder to bear then the wounds we will be given in war" sighed Fairy as the tall flame that was once lit in her hand had reduced itself to a spark. "Well I'm sure the enemy feels no different...Besides we have our secret weapon, the one that will-" General Alleluia began, but was soon interrupted by a mysterious presence. At this time, Captain Ardor decided to step in. It was the only time one could see her clearly since she stood out in the light, which the sun provided, with her dark blue spirit uniform. "It's time. Our prince has requested our presence before we march to the Battlefield" were her only words as she gave the two generals their greetings and turned away from the Sun. "Very well." both Generals understood as they stood up and made there way following Captain Ardor towards the summit and their Prince. Looking down at the grand empire every Zutarian hands had contributed into building, not knowing whether the next time they would set eyes on it if it will stand so tall again...

The sweltering heat increased on her neck as she leaned down towards the bush. Plucking a few more raspberries, she dropped them in her basket, and once again, bent down to pick more. The food had become scarce: the soldiers were growing thin, their faces as blank as paper, their cheeks pinched from hunger. Each person received a piece of bread and water a day, not even close enough to what they all needed; so when they had found large bushes of raspberries and blackberries further back in the forest, everyone, including the officers, had simply sighed with thankful relief and began to pluck the berries from their bushes. A bead of sweat rolled down her forehead and cheeks, falling off her chin. Stretching her back, she yawned and set the basket down as she sat herself down upon a stump, closing her eyes as she sighed warily. The berries were almost all picked... "General Mashnip!" called a voice. The speaker, General Almighty, approached the girl, setting her basket down. "The berries have all been picked. We need to head back to camp." General Mashnip nodded, and getting up, plucked a berry from her basket and popped it in her mouth.

-but before she could exit the tent, she noticed a basket of berries on a little table. She didn't say anything, just hoped that there were some berry bushes near her camp.
Storybookgirl found Chibang sitting on the ground outside the tent. He looked tired. She wished that they didn't have to walk back to camp, but there was no other way. The rhino's had been needed for the soldiers. Storybookgirl sighed.
"Come along, Chibang. Let's hope we can make it back to camp before it gets too dark."
He nodded and got up reluctantly.
"Do you think Prince Zuko knows I read his letter?" he asked.
She smirked. "Probably."
"Oh." He looked sad. "It was really sweet. He misses her a lot."
"I'm guessing the Avatar does, too, though."
"Who do you think misses her the most?"
Story thought for a moment. "I don't know. I don't think there's an answer."

Air Admiral Kataang sat in the airconditioned tent, brooding over her squadrants' plans. Her battalion of Airbenders, herself included, were awaiting orders from General Almighty. She rose. Her Airbenders were ready. Nervous, but eager to fight ardently for their ship. She shook her head, brushing the soft linen of the tent's cover out of her path. She walked into the heart of the camp. She intercepted the two Generals, General Mashnip and General Almighty, conversing in low tones. She saluted, as was her place. They were her superior officers. As they saluted in return, she began. "Generals, I have been meditating over the strategy which we discussed earlier. If I take my battalion and combine it with General Almighty's, " she said nodding her head towards the said General, " We have a better chance of taking out the Zutarian Waterbenders." The Generals looked at each other. Admiral Kaangluv waited nervously, biting her lip. Had she been impertinent? Would they demote her? She awaited the verdict...

(Do we have to RP? ..Oh well : General Almighty was attentive at Admiral Kaangluv's suggestion. "Excellent idea. Double teaming the enemy while creating a diversion for an ambush. Pure brilliance." General Almighty saluted and was looking at an almost relieved Admiral. ------------------------ On a side note, I've also noticed that nobody, other than storybookgirl, has answered my first question. Why do you guys like Zutara?

Shafts of sunlight sprinkled the luscious carpet of grass, dancing as the wind scattered the canopy of leaves. Inching her bare foot further into the hole, the young maiden lifted herself onto the branch, her legs dangling in the air. She giggled, and standing up, began to climb further up the branches. Suddenly, she heard a laugh behind her. Startled, she glanced to where the voice came from, only to see Lady Story, the Zutarian Ambassador. "Um, General Mashnip?" she managed to say. "What? Can't I have some fun?" The ambassador scoffed, amused, and looking up, asked, "Do you have your answer yet?" The girl's smile faded as she climbed down. "I'll have to discuss it with the other officers."

In answering Almighty's initial question, I went and dug up a post I made on another thread (can't remember which one, sorry): Personally, since the first episode I ever caught was "The Waterbending Scroll," this affects my perception of the characters. The script writers could have chosen to handle the interrogation scene in a number of different ways, and they chose that one. And yet, though I do feel that therefore some Zutara~ness may be foreshadowed somewhere along the convoluted path we all tread with this show, I couldn't say who would end up with each other conclusively, nor do I think it's my place to. In the Ava~verse as well as in real life, I believe relationships are the exclusive business of those involved in them. I will think more on that later.

Question on the umbrella thing. .....Is only romance love? or can it friendship love or family love? or any other time of love? If it is only romance, then why!? Another thing, so.... if Sokka was under the umbrella as well, does this mean he will love either Katara or Aang romancely? Now, why I support Zutara? Hm... ...Well, not counting the fact I read a few Zutara(That don't suck ar*e.) and read the theories........I never really put to much thought in it. That and I will admit, it remind this Vegeta/Bulma shipper of.... Vegeta/Bulma.. What? I am not good as some of you at debating! Umbrella thing? Oh... never mind... I get which evidence. Zutara fans always argue how Zutara is evident from the symbolism presented. Well, this is symbolism towards Kataang. Symbolism isn't always interpreted the same its pretty obvious that a Zutarian would think that the umbrella thing is pretty unevident. I can say the same for the fireflies/moths that was mentioned in one of the posts. Was it Bato of the water tribe? What if those moths were actually meant for someone else? How can you determine that its Zutara from looking at a moth? Maybe it can be drawn that reconciliation might be in the near future between the Earth Kingdom and the Fire nation. Kuniki, that's why I wanna ask that question. I've noticed how so many people argue for something, but sometimes their reasons might get lost in the arguing. I see. Thank you for answering my question. *Moves to the sidelines again*

You cannot judge things from only screen shots. Screen shots can be misleading... take youkai's for example. Misleading screenshot. Great comeback Almighty ;D. Anyways i have a question. Think before answering. Its been obvious that Zuko would do anything to get the Avatar. He still live in his la la land that his father will take him back. He almost left Iroh to travel back to the Fire Nation. He stole the girl who save Iroh life and fed his behind emu horse. So its been obvious that he'll do anything and hurt anyones feelings. So wouldn't it be obvious that he will target Katara. Being she's a young naive girl. I think he'll use his blue spirit mask to make her fall in love with him. She likes him starts following him around, Aang see gets worries and follows her. Then Blue Spirit aka Zuko betrays Katara breaks her hearts and runs of with Aang. Here's the question do you think that above is possible and would Katara forgive Blue Spirit aka Zuko for breaking her heart?

Here's the question do you think that above is possible and would Katara forgive Blue Spirit aka Zuko for breaking her heart? It is not obvious that Zuko is willing to do absolutely anything to capture the avatar. There have been times where he could have been much more cruel than he was and it would have probably gotten him better results, but he wasn't. I don't think the scenario is possible. Zuko is devious when he wants to be, sure, but I think that stringing a girl along like that would be nowhere near in character for him. He tends to be more honorable than that. If he liked to use that method to gain things to his advantage, he could very easily have done it with Song and tried to get much more out of her than an emuhorse. But it would not be a right course of action and he didn't. Secondly, I think if there was any duplicity involved on his part, there would be hints of it that Katara would pick up on. Now you are going to bring up how Jet was a jerk and she was blind to that. Well, I think the whole incident with Jet would make her more liable to sense duplicity in a guy, especially one as mysterious as the Blue Spirit. She would be more likely to pick up on any ill intentions b/c of the incident with Jet. And, since I don't think it would happen, the second question about whether Katara would forgive him is a moot point. As for an answer to the question as to why I llike Zutara. Well, I think that these two as a couple would be more entertaining to watch than any other couple. They are my favorite characters and I also think they would go well together(there have been times in other shows where I had two fav chars of opposite genders, but I didn't want them together) I like all the depth the relationship would have. It would be like a personification of one of the main themes of the show, which I think adds a cool level of depth to the story. Plus, it is kind of a forbidden love on both sides, which makes it attractive to me. If one of the characters was truly evil, I prolly wouldn't feel that way, but we all know that this is not the case and so I do. Also, if these two characters could get together I think it could serve as a broader "Ray of hope" in the show to the other nations. If Fire and Water can get along, then peace is still possible. lol It could be a healing influence for the rest of the world.

So the fact that he was willing to go by himself to the North Pole where the interiors were heavily patrolled does not show that he is desperate to capture the Avatar? Does going back to fire nation waters when he's banished not show how eager he is the capture Aang? Zuko is desperate to capture Aang: -he went to the north pole regardless of the patrol, Zhao, Aang, Sokka, Katara, etc. He swam in freezing cold water and snuck into the N. Pole. -he ordered his ship to go past the fire nation blockade even though he's banished. -he was willing to jump off a high level on his boat to grab Aang in the 2nd ep. -he even hired pirates, which for a noble, is very low. -he stole Song's emuhorse even though she has been nothing but nice towards him Do you see where I'm going with this? He even ignores his advisor, Iroh, in order to get Aang. I really don't understand where you are going in saying that he wasn't desperate. If that would be out of character for Zuko, then wouldn't falling in love with Katara be out of character for him too? You said yourself that he wouldn't string girls, so why would he want Katara then? He has so many other things to do than spending his time with Katara.

^ Yeah, jumping off his ship’s helm might have killed Zuko if he hadn’t caught Aang’s ankle ~ that’s pretty desperate.
And as far as stringing girls along. . . I noticed something last night by accident: if you watch the interrogation scene from “Waterbending Scroll” with the sound off, Dante Basco’s sexy voice doesn’t distract, and Zuko does indeed look pretty evil.
It would take something pretty intense to turn their current combative relationship around to something more intimate. However, since Avatar has left me stunned on more than one occasion, there isn’t much I’d rule out.
Also, I agree that if reconciliation, redemption, and personal growth continue to be themes of the creators, this relationship would be representative of those themes. A Zuko/Katara pairing would demand the most change and involve the most conflict; Avatar is nothing if not challenging.
