Hello *winks*! My name is Hikari Shiro, and I’m an Airbender. I’m five-foot five, and I have long, wavy, black-and-brown hair. I’m not exactly what you call a “simple monk”, either.
I was born on December 25 to Airbenders named Harano and Ying, in the Southern Air Temple, which happened to be a boy temple. When I was born, I was chosen to be the Holder. Technically, the Holder is a person chosen at birth to hold the Crystal of Light, a legendary diamond said to have been blessed by a spirit, and to have mysterious power. You have to have special circumstances to become the Holder, but I wasn't told any except you had to have a prism on your forehead (which I have) I apparently inherited it from an Avatar. Pretty cool, huh? Well, I think so ^^.
So anyway, time passed pretty quickly. My first friend was my air bison. Named Shinji, he was a runt when I got him. I remember saying to him, “ Shinji-san, I will always be by your side. Forever and ever!” Eventually Airbending school, going to the fighting doujo (to enhance my airbending ^^), and traveling became a big part of my life. I remember my yearly schedule. I went to the Fire Nation for winter, the Water Tribe for summer, the Earth Kingdom for spring, and finally, I stayed home for fall. I learned karate in the Fire Nation, healing arts in the Water Tribe, survival skills in the Earth Kingdom, and advanced Airbending with the Air Nomads, all the while making new friends, visiting old ones, practicing Airbending, and of course, creating my own moves. Life was awesome!
My life dramatically changed, though, when I had “the dream”. I barely remember what happened that day, but I remember being alone in my room, touching my crystal, and suddenly falling to my knees. Then the room disappeared and I had it. “The dream”. I can’t remember all of it, just a flash of ice and a young women lying dead on the floor, blood splattered on her chest. I was 14. After that, it seemed like someone had pressed an off button on my life. I started going out into the wild for long periods off time, sketching things and people I saw and singing to myself. I also started working harder on my Airbending. My sleeping habits became weirder, for sometimes I needed half an hour of sleep, and sometimes I slept 15 hours. My moods were going haywire, and I would be singing one moment and crying the next. My world was falling apart, and I was going down with it.
A ray of hope came in the shape of a letter from the Southern Air Temple. One day, after Airbending lesson, my teacher, Monk Kyana, gave me a flyer from one of the boys’ temples. Apparently, it was tutoring season. Bleh. But still, it gave me something to do, so I signed up.
The next week, I found myself at the Southern Air Temple, tutoring boys in Airbending. They all seemed pretty stupid. Either that, or they thought they were good, but they were worse than the stupid ones. All except one boy. His name was Aang, and he made me feel better than I had in a long time. He was nice, charming, and always seemed optimistic. I had never hand many friends back home, and Aang was like a wake-up call to me. I was happy again, and laughter found me more often. He was quick to learn, too, and he even taught me some of his moves, which I thought was pretty silly. More importantly, my crystal, the Crystal of Light, seemed to shine more when I was around him. I spent more time at the Southern Air Temple, and I even had a room there.
Finally, after 15 hard years of training, I was a master. Even better, I became part of the Western Air Temple’s council, because the Monks seemed to think the Holder needed to be on it. I was 20, and of course Aang was right beside me when it happened. I was kind of jealous of him; he was 12, and he was already a master! But I let that slide. I thought that our friendship would never end, even if it were a distant one.
Then Aang was found to be the Avatar. I was shocked, and apparently, so was he. Our lessons seemed to be getting more frequent, and when I saw Aang, he always seemed a little unhappy. I talked to the Southern Air Temple council about this about this, but they didn’t seem to care, all except Monk Gyatso, Aang’s Airbending teacher. He actually cared for Aang, like I did. We often talked.
Now, as I’m sitting in my room at the Southern Air Temple, I just hope Aang is all right, because if anything happened to him, I don’t know what I would do…
“ Monk Hikari!” a monk called from the window. “ The Avatar is gone!”
And so my story begins.
(Heh, I finally got it done! WOO-HOO! Like, GO ME! Wow, I’m a Valley Forge girl ^^. It took me so long, but I guess having a green-and-black background when your writing helps A TON. ^^ Likes, go me AGAIN! And guys, remember, I’m not a seven-year-role-player-fanatic LIKE SOME OTHER PEOPLES *hint hint* so please be polite and logical.
Zukosfire5 alias The Queen: I really hope this blows you away LOL. Peace!)
Yay I got it up! I had to get it from my sis's computer caues it didnt have internet. But of course, I was lazy so I let my dad do it ^^
