Name:[/u]Riyan Hokimoto
Age:[/u]19
Gender:[/u]Male
Nation:[/u]Fire Nation: (Not aligned)
Bender?:[/u]Yes. Fire
Appearance:[/u]Long Jet-Black Hair, with curls in the bangs. He wears a black battle gown with a cerimonial robe. He picked the robe out of many he had found at a small northern-earth kingdom town, after he wore through his old refugee clothing. It has a battle stripe down the side of the gown, colored red. The robe has a hood with it, and covers Riyan's face when he wishes to remain secluded.
He has golden eyes, witch sometimes give him away as fire nation. He is around 5'11, and has a sleek build. He has a scar on his abdomen, which happened when he picked a fight with a drunk earth kingdom merchant.
Personality:[/u]He is calm. Riyan likes to keep to himeself with most strangers, whereas he is most alert. When with friends, he talks, but is sometimes consolidated. He can get angry, but he has a lot of self-control that helps him master his bending.
Not meeting many women, Riyan does not really have an idea of romance... he has gone far, but never known many people for very long.
He is easy on people unless he feels threatened, as he would like all of the people he meets to leave a little happier.
History:[/u] Riyan was born in the heart of the Fire Nation. He spent his first years with his parents, who where wealthy, and powerful. However, there where spies. After a few years, the fire lord had gotten supisious of them, and it soon got harder and harder to keep up their operation.
When Riyan was eleven, he was in the middle of his firebending training. His father, Hi-Yo, had decided early in his life to start his training due to his "job".
Then, the fire lord found out what he was looking for. His servants recoved a document that pointed out that his parent where consipring against the fire lord. That night, the fire lord's soldiers stormed the mansion. Hi-Yo put Riyan in the care of his most faithful servant, Tatka, to bring me to the group of earthbenders that he had been sending messages to.
Riyan has since heard little of his parents. A waterbender commented to him that he had heard the name before, but he could not remember where. Riyan decided that he would become a nomad, where he would travel the world, learning all he could about the world, and fighting for justice wherever things called for it. He also vowed to master firebending like his father had wanted him to.
Riyan took a journey to see the famed "Deserter". He found him in the Southern part of the Earth Kingdom, and he spent the next 5 years training with him.
The master of firebending turned him down with a sturn no when Riyan first meat him however. Riyan decided to not leave the master's side until he proved that he was worthy, and that he would not abuse his fire, but in turn use it to do what It was meant to do. Bring life and peace to the world.
Riyan spent night and day with the master, doing whatever his wished of Riyan to do.
A year passed. The Deserter was still unwilling to teach him. Even with his resolve, Riyan was still starting to lose hope, and to get very frustrated at this man they called a "Master".
One night, while Riyan took a walk along a river he had found in the mountains, he haphazerdly walked into a earth kingdom refugee camp. As soon as he had did such, the rumble of the ground was unmistakeable. "Rhinos......" Riyan said to himself.
"They are destroying everything!!!" cried a woman.
Riyan could not let that injustice continue. He but an ultimatium toward the Fire Nation soldiers, "Stop, or I will make it that you stop."
They just decided that a simple refugee from the earth kingdom was easy enough to deal with. That cocked their hands, ready to unleash an unending yield of fire to consume Riyan body.
"I don't want to hurt you....... So I won't." Riyan. Just as he finished, he pivoted on his axis, and he pulled out a flash bomb, and detonated it when he was just clear enough. The soldiers where blind, and he told the refugees to tie them up until they could be released.
As he started to return to The Desterters's camp, Jeong-Jeong came out from the underbrush. It just seemed like he was always there.
"You stay with me a year, slave away at my tasks, do all that is needed, and never did you lose patience." he said. "Now you save refugees.... not very common for a person of your background.
He stolled over to Riyan and contiued talking. "I guess that warrants some attention. I will teach you...... but you will continue with the same dedication and patirnce that you have shown in this long year."
Thus, Riyan completed his training after another long 4 years. He never stopped, but at times his resolve was tested.
When he was 17, he left Jeong-Jeong to start his journey around the world. he started at the Southern Water Tribe, and from there, the story does begin.

The Personality I will revise, but (not trying to nitpick) it does feel like I am telling everybody what I will role-play. He does not have friends yet. He has nobody. He is supposed to be socluded until something happens to make him slowly open up.
Also, I try not to use myself as a template. This is my first Avatar RPG, but I am not new to them. I even mod at a Star Wars RPG. I have used myself in others, so I try now to brouden that horizon.
