[glow=red,2,300][shadow=red,left,300]Chapter 14 - Unexpected Surprise[/shadow][/glow]
“Ok, how am I supposed to land now, there’s someone coming!?” Aria thought frantically about what to do, if she couldn’t land because it was too risky, then staying in flight was definatly a problem as well. “just keep going, maybe they wont notice” she said in a low voice halfheartedly. How could anyone possibly miss a girl flying around out here? They would have to be complete morons to miss it.
The bison came closer and she was almost to the ground. But she was so worked up, the odds of making a smooth landing were slim, she would probably just be sent tumbling through the sand.
The swift breeze from her passing sent the sand just barely a foot below her flying, as she circled back toward the water, skimming a wave. She picked up speed, and headed back to where she had just left Jay.
“Aang, look over there on the water.” Katara pointed out to the others as they passed by, letting their cloud cover go for a few minutes to see the surroundings.
“How many people use gliders to fly now, seriously!” Sokka said, “I mean, first those people at the air temple, now this person!”
“Their not just gliding” Aang said, “I think their actually bending”
“Like that could really happen. Aang, you’re the last airbender. There are none left, especially so close to the Fire Nation!” Toph broke in. “Did you learn nothing from when you encountered the fakes at the temple last time this happened?”
“Maybe your right….but I’m gonna check it out.” He said reaching for his glider
“We’ll follow from up here, be careful.” Katara said, as he flew off.
The sea breeze whipped around him, as he dove toward the water to get more speed. In an instant he was almost directly behind Aria.
“HEY!” he called.
“Oh crap! What am I going to do now?” Aria thought frantically, taking a quick glance over her shoulder. It was…another airbender! It must be Aang.
“You’re the Avatar aren’t you?” She asked over her shoulder.
“Yeah, and your…” He paused as he brought his glider beside hers
“An airbender like you, yeah. Though I’m not very good, I only know a little. I haven’t trained.”
“So there are other Airbenders alive.”
”Not exactly…”
“What do you mean, you had to come from somewhere, and why are you here in the Fire Nation?”
“well, I’m kind of only came here by accident…its complicated…. And I’m only in the Fire nation, because Azula captured me, Jay, and Ve’ar.”
“Who are they, they aren’t with you.”
“Jay is my friend, we travel together. And Ve’ar is my bison.”
At this, Aangs eyes only got even bigger, “You have a bison!” he nearly shouted.
“Head back toward the beach, I think I saw a cave right over there” Aria pointed. “I’ll go get Jay.”
“Ok, I’ll tell the others.” He said before lifting his glider back.
“whoa! I just met the Avatar.” She thought to herself. But how would Jay react, she knew that he had been really good with her strangeness so far, for being from the Fire Nation, but what would happen if what he was taught as a kid came out now? Or soon? She shook the thought from her head, and pressed on.
It wasn’t too much longer before she caught up to him.
“JAY!”
“Your back already? You got the supplies fast.”
“I didn’t get the supplies, but we have to turn around, your never going to believe who I ran into!
[glow=red,2,300][shadow=red,left,300]Chapter 15 Revelation[/shadow][/glow]
“Aang, how do we know that she didn’t just take off?” Sokka asked
“I just know, she should be back any minute.”
“Do you even know her name?” Toph asked suspiciously.
“well, no, but…”
“see, we don’t know anything about her now do we.!”
“Sorry to keep you guys waiting.” Aria said as she, Jay and Ve’ar entered the cave
“So you made it, were so glad,” Toph said sarcastically
“How on earth did you get a bison!?!” Sokka almost went into hysterics,” we would have heard if one was still alive.”
“And your being an airbender, the world would have heard of this a long time ago.” Katara added.
‘well…I….”
“She only recently found out she was an airbender.” Jay said
“Well, her parents had to be Airbenders, so she had to know somehow!” Sokka said
“She hasn’t even told me about that.” Jay added.
Now she was under everyone’s questioning eyes. Looks like she would have to tell them about how she came here, even if they thought she was crazy.
“Ok” she sighed, “I’ll tell you, but you probably wont believe me.”
“just go on already!” Toph demanded.
“I’m not from this time, so I don’t know how I’m even able to be an airbender. I was just in my living room watching TV, when the surroundings vanished, they faded away to a forest.”
“But, you didn’t look any different from anybody else…” Jay added
“My clothes obviously didn’t fit in, so I had to sneak around for awhile, until I came upon a laundry place and made a disguise so to speak so I wouldn’t stand out so much. I needed a job, so I worked in a tea shop. And I lived in the woods. That’s how I met Jay, he worked in a store next to the tea shop. “
“But how did you get the act down so fast, I couldn’t tell that you weren’t from the Fire nation? And how did you know about some of the places around here, where to go, and in what country?” Jay asked
She thought about how to answer this correctly, she couldn’t just tell them they were in a TV show! They wouldn’t even know what that was… “It was in a text book I studied in school. Just because I’m not from this era doesn’t mean that he future just forgets about the past.” Ok, so far so good. “ I knew I couldn’t just stay in the Fire nation, since they were known for creating the war, I had to get to the earth kingdom. So I saved up my money for the trip, and saved up supplies as well. I only found out I was an airbender when I met Guru Pathik. There he told me that he had been keeping a Bison hidden for a bender that was to come one day. So he thought that was me.
“So lemme get this straight, your not from this time, can you prove it? You look just like anyone else around here.” Sokka pointed out.
“Actually I can, I still have my cell phone.” She said reaching into her bag and pulling it out. “Its almost dead though, but here, see, its nothing like anything around here.” She turned it on, and played a video on it for them.
“This things alive!” Toph exclaimed
“No, it runs on battery power, and I cant charge it here cause there’s no electricity.”
“It’s getting late guys, we can question her more in the morning, but we should leave early tomorrow since Azula’s near by.” Katara said
And with that they got their sleeping bags out and went to sleep.
