Thanks! Im glad you like it. Heres another chapter....
[glow=red,2,300][shadow=red,left,300]chapter 8- Travels[/shadow][/glow]
It was taking them weeks, and it would have taken months for them to reach the other side of the earth kingdom, if they hadn’t been able to catch a lift with another traveler headed for the west as well. HE had a pair of ostrich horses he was trying to herd on the long journey. But their ride stopped about four days short of their destination, in a small town.
”Thanks for the lift!”
“No problem, we were headed in the same direction, I was glad to help the two of you out” The man said with a smiling face.
As the man went away, the two restock their supplies at the market.
“Ready to head out again?” Jay asked.
“Yeah.” She couldn’t help but remember seeing that symbol on the saddle blankets somewhere. “Jay, did you recognize the symbol on the saddles or was it just me?”
“No, just you I guess. Lets keep moving, we want to get there as soon as possible right?”
“Of Course we do!” They continued walking west. But deep inside, she knew what that symbol was, the Secret Lotus society was farther spread than she thought. She looked back. There must be hundreds of members around the globe.
The days passed slowly, and they began to take breaks more frequently. They were covering huge distances everyday, but the Earth Kingdom was huge!
“How much farther? We’ve been walking for days now!”
“Well, we should be getting close to the shore.” Aria said looking at the map.
“Look, there’s a town, maybe we can rest for a little bit!” Jay exclaimed with a happy note in hi voice. He was obviously tired of walking, as was she.
When they reached the town, Jay nearly collapsed into the bench he had found while Aria went to ask a shop owner how far it was to the shore.
Jay had never know life beyond the Firenation. Since he was little, their viewpoint on the war had been drilled into his brain. But seeing it from this vantage point was awkward. His family had always passed it down for their own good, that the war wasn’t what it seemed. Now he actually understood. All around them, everywhere they went, were citizens who had peaceful lives, and some who were wounded. Obviously soldiers. They were fighting to defend their lands; the Fire nation only sought power and domination. He resented his own nation now. Aria had told him her point on the war, and what the other nations thought as well. His own people were so blind, how could they have let the FireLord do this to the other nations? But since the war had gone on for so long, they had probably forgotten, and didn’t know the real meaning behind it.
“The shores are only about thirty minutes away! Were almost there.” Aria said coming back.
“Lets go, maybe we can still catch a boat this late in the day.” Jay said getting up and clearing his head of the negative thoughts about the war.
The walk wasn’t as long as they thought it would be, and the price of their boat was extremely cheap. Probably because not very many people went to the islands of the Air Nomads.
“So, may I ask why your setting sail for the Islands of the Nomads? Not many go there ya know” the only sailor/captain asked.
“Well, we just wanted to see them.” Aria said quickly.
“They are beautiful, I’ll give you that.”
The trip wasn’t long, But the maintain was sigh. It’ll take ya some time to get up there. We’ll have a boat come back for ya in about two weeks from today. If you don’t come then, you may have to swim back to the shore” The man laughed as he sailed back.
“So, do we have to climb this thing?” Jay said hoping they wouldn’t have to, he had never climbed in his life.
“I would think so.” She looked at the mountain hard, “Look, there’s a small set of stairs over there! We only have to climb a little bit to get to them!
“Joy.”
It was slow going at first, but then they got the hang of it. It really wasn’t as high to the stairs as it had seemed from the ground. Aria was surprised that she had actually seen them, they were pretty well hidden.
“Now to climb the stairs of evil” Exclaimed Jay.
“You know, you could have stayed down at the bottom if you wanted. I could go on on my own.” Aria said. Looking up to see just how far they would have to continue.
“No, I’m coming, it’s just really long, I mean, just look, you cant even see the end!”
As day passed to evening, and dusk. They made camp on a ledge. “Do you think we’ll ever reach the top?” Aria asked Jay.”
“I think we might tomorrow. How would anybody want to climbing this thing? They’d have to be crazy.”
“Well, all the airnomads were born benders, so they could just glide up to the top, or fly on the bison.”
“They had it a heck of a lot easier than we do no climbing this thing!”
“Yeah, I guess your right, but these temples were built so they could live in peace.”
“Well, see you in the morning, be careful you don’t roll over, you might find yourself tumbling back down the stairs.”
“Yeah, you don’t roll over either! We have a ways to go yet, and we don’t need to go backwards. See you in the morning.”

[shadow=red,left,300][glow=red,2,300]Chapter 9- The Guru[/glow][/shadow]
Morning came all to soon for them, but at the height they were, it was to bright to ignore.
”Better get moving again, huh?” Jay asked sleepily stretching. “Yeah, the sooner we get there the better.” She still didn’t quit understand that after she had kept the fact she wasn’t firenation from him for so long that he still wanted to go with her.
Their journey took hours, as dawn turned to midday, they had to stop for their feet began to hurt, and their sense of balance was becoming distorted after climbing stairs for days. They took the opportunity for a much needed lunch break.
“How much farther?” Jay asked lying down on one stair. “How should I know, its not like I’ve been here before. I can’t see anymore than you can.
“It was just a simple question, no need to bite my head off.” Jay said sitting up.
“Sorry, guess I’m just tired of making this insane climb to the top of Mount Everest.”
”Mount what?” He looked at her like she was insane.
“Umm, just some really tall mountain I made up when I was a kid…I say that sometimes.” She looked away, Mt. Everest! Great, now he’s going to think she’s even more of a lunatic.
They got up and kept going. The waters of the ocean below looked gray, and were churning the waves up against the rocks at the base of the mountain.
Soon, midday was turning to early dusk, and Jay couldn’t help but ask again “Are we there yet?”
He was shocked at her response, “Yes, were here, were finally here!” She had begun running up the stairs now; how she could she didn’t even know.
They were rounding the last corner of the stairs, the sun casting its last golden rays upon the ancient temple.
“Its amazing.” Aria whispered
“Its beautiful, so what do we do now? Look all over the place for this guy?”
“Well, you don’t have to, I on the other hand would like to find him!” She started toward the building when they heard a strange sound echoing from the temple, Jay held her back.
“What are you doing! The sound has to come from something, it sounded like it came from over there! Lets go.”
“Aria, You have to be more cautious, we don’t know anything about this place.”
He let her go, and they walked carefully over the wall and crept around it to peer at what was on the other side. Jay was taking out his swords when Aria just left the walls cover.
“Excuse me, but are you the guru?”
”Yes, I am Guru Pathik, what brings you to this mountain young girl? Not many people come to these parts anymore.” He went back to meditating.
“Well, I had a dream, to come here you were in it. So I “
”Came here. Smart girl. So what is it that you need assistance with? Tell your friend its ok to come out” he added, motioning toward the wall.
Jay stepped out, swords in hand and studied the guru, he was still on edge about this place.
Aria sat down across from Pathik, and began to explain her dream.
“Oh, so you want me to help you figure out what nation you are!” Strange not knowing, but I think I can help. “He exclaimed long after Jay had fallen asleep. “Come with me, were going to the meditation pools.” He got up and quickly began to walk over to one. “Try to feel the waters energy, how the waves push and pull with every breeze, see if you cant change how they move-even slightly.” He motioned for her to try.
She gave it her best effort, but without success. “Maybe I’m just not a waterbender”
“Then lets try earth. For earth bending you need a strong stance as rock is a stubborn element, A good motion for you to try is this” he demonstrated a kicking move where you stomp the ground and a chunk of rock would come up. “ I’ve seen many earthbenders use that stance before.”
She took the stance, trying to feel the earth, nothing.
“Don’t lose hope Aria, we still have Fire to test.” This time he demonstrated an arc of flames move.
She tok up the stance of a firebender, but nothing prevailed. She dropped to the ground after nothing happened. “Maybe I’m just not a bender.”
”Nonsense! You have the energy of one. Come now, lets try air.” he mimicked a move that he had seen Aang do just weeks before. “See, not so difficult, just give it a try.”
“Air! There hasn’t been any Airbenders –besides than Avatar- for a hundred years, what makes you think that she can bend it?” Jays voice came over to her clearly.
“I just have a feeling” Pathik said smiling at her.
She took her stance, and did the movements. She circled her hands; this time she felt something different, something amazing. She directed her energy at a bush nearby, and the circle of air in her hands blew over it.
“I don’t believe it.” Was all Jay could say, a living airbender, right they’re in front of him, and Aria at that! He was speechless.
“See, I told you that with a little push, you would find your element. I think that you should stay here, at least until you can get some bending techniques down, even if there the basics, theirs murals all over the temple that show the masters at their trade. But for now I think that sleep is good for everybody, especially after that long trip you took to get up here” He laughed to himself.
Once they Guru Pathik left, Jay came over to where Arai was setting up her sleeping bag for the night.
“Guess your kind of like the Avatar now, huh?”
“What, I don’t know Aang, just because I’m an airbender doesn’t mean”
“You’re going to want to find him. And if you don’t, someone will probably tell him once word gets out that there is another airbender. Aria, he thinks he’s the last one, don’t you think it would be hard to hide from him if he found out?”
“Your right, but he’s the Avatar, in the Fire nation don’t they teach you to hate and constantly hunt him or something?”
”You know, you pretty much catagorize the Firenation as a whole, were more than just people who do what the fire lord says, we have our own wants in life as well. Not everyone goes completely by the laws of the country.”
“So you don’t hate the Avatar, or the other nations, that’s why you didn’t leave me earlier when you could have.”
“Duh, how long did it take you to figure that out? Plus, I wouldn’t leave you anyway, I don’t think I could.”
He got up and walked away. Leaving her puzzled as to why he wouldn’t leave her. But in her heart, she hoped she knew the answer.

[shadow=red,left,300][glow=red,2,300]Chapter 10- Twilight’s Secret[/glow][/shadow]
It was early the next morning, just before sunrise. Aria awoke startled by a noise. She looked about, still nothing visible in the utter darkness that surrounded her. She must have fallen asleep after jay had taken off. She sighed, and lay back down. There was the smell of the ocean blow, the distant sound of the waves crashing beneath her on the shores far below. She sat up strait again, this time more awake, she hadn’t been imagining that sound. There it was again…but what was it. She sat there perfectly still listening. A cloud gave way in the sky to let a sliver of moonlight fall on the earth.
She was alone as far as she could see, but she sensed it was false. She stood up and began to search around for jay, where had he gone anyway? And what happened to the Monk? Surely they wouldn’t just leave her here all alone! She was walking across the large stone clearing when she felt a hot breeze on her shoulder. She immediately stopped, and stood rigid. But when it came again, and nothing happened to her , she turned.
Jay had run over to the edge of the clearing , the moonlight showing him in the shadows. She trembled trying to stay strong, not knowing what was behind her. “Aria, don’t move!” Jay called, he stepped closer to her softly. She heard a deep growl behind her, as if from a very large dog, She kept trying to make herself move, but it was as if she was paralyzed with fear. Jay was only an arms length away when the creature made a sudden movement. A swift breeze sprung up behind her, clearing the haze as she turned. Jay quickly grabbed her arm and pulled her toward him while making an arc of flame to illuminate the night. Even if it was only for a moment, they saw the creature. It was massive, It was almost floating in the air, and as the light passed over it, there was a gleam of mistrust in its eyes.
“Are you ok?” he whispered to her softly, never moving his eyes from the large intruder.
“I’m fine…” was all she could say. The flame had gone our leaving the misty twilight to set back into darkness. But that flash played I slow motion in her head. Then the pictures of the wall murals of the temple came into her mind. She removed Jay’s hand from her arm and moved away from his protecting grasp. She stepped closer to the creature, examining it in the shadowed moonlight. “So it was true…”She barely whispered, “A sky bison. I-I don’t believe it.” She kept walking softly not wanting to startle the bison. She stopped when she was an arms length away and put up her hand slowly. IT took a bit for the bison to react to her, first lowering to the ground.
“That’s it, slowly now…” She said softly trying to calm it down. Surely the flame had frightened it.
“Aria are you nuts!” Jay said still at a distance.
They stood like that for a long time, gaining each other’s trust. Jay never leaving his spot, and never putting his guard down. The first golden rays of the morning’s dawn crept over them, chasing the shadows away. The Bison moved back its head as if it wanted her to do something, but she was unsure of what it wanted.
“Bison are an Airbenders companion for life…maybe if I airbend…” She let her thoughts trail. She would have to try it at least. She took her stance, and made a gust of wind to lift her up, the Bison seemed to understand as well. Now she was atop it, just like how you were supposed to ride.
“Your not!” jay thought, still thinking she was a lunatic.
It seemed almost now as if she had known the bison for years. A name instantly came into her mind, Ve’ar. “jet, its ok now, you can come over.” She called.
“Ok, You’ve lost it, that thing tries to eat you, and now your its friend!”
“Sky bison don’t eat people!” She said taking the bison’s defense, “ this is Ve’ar. The Sky bison were the first Airbenders.” She said. “Where’s Guru Pathik? He should see this!”
“The last I saw of him he said he had to go do something for a situation that had come up or something late last night.”
It clicked in her mind now, like a puzzle piece just sliding in. She should have seen it from the start. Pathik had wanted them to stay longer for more reasons than for her to study the murals, he had a secret hidden-a well kept one- that was just waiting to come out.
“Jay, were going to stay here until he comes back.” She said looking down at him.
“But it could be hours before he’s back! Di you not hear what I just said?”
”I did, and I know what it was. He kept this bison in hiding for years, don’t you see, that situation was an airbender that was alive-other than the avatar- he kept this from the world!”
So they began to pack their things up a bit while they waited, and Ve’ar was enjoying the sunshine when Pathik walked up.
“Ah! I’m glad to see your encounter was good.” He said smiling. “I tried to keep her with me, but she took off. Its crazy what animals will do once they hear what they’ve been waiting years for.”
“ You kept a good secret Pathik.” Aria said, but how did you come across a bison?” Aria asked putting her bag down.
“It was a long, time ago when I came here, I was to help the Avatar find his control of the Avatar state. I found this bison here in one of the rooms over there” he said pointing. “ it was just a little youngster, its mother probably taken by the Fire Nation and killed. I took it in, in case an airbender would come along. I had to keep it hidden though, or the Firenation would get suspicious again. Im sure that the Avatar will be very happy once he finds out you’re an airbender! And Appa about what did you name her?”
“Ve’ar”
“yes, he’ll be excited about Ve’ar. Im sure that you will want to go of now, but before you go, take this.” He handed her a small whistle.
“whats this?” She asked holding the small whistle in her had
“It’s a bison whistle of course! It’s a sound that she knows and will come to it. Just in case something happens. Tell Aang hope that he finished his last chakra, and that if he needs to to come back. He knows how to find me.” He said smiling.
They put a saddle they found in one of the old rooms of the temple on Ve’ar before saying their good byes. Aria wasn’t sure of what their future held anymore, but this discovery was one that would be carried throughout the world in no time. And in fact, she may be mistaken for the Avatar for a few weeks. This was not what she wanted to think of. But now, they had to find the Avatar first. If they were going to be of any help in this world, she was going to need a master!

[shadow=red,left,300][glow=red,2,300]Chapter 11-Darkness Previals[/glow][/shadow]
Aria’s future here was now beginning to take its true form. So she was able to bend air here, she never would have guessed, her being an outsider from another world would actually be able to do things that those who lived here could do. She smiled inside as she looked out over the horizon. She looked over at Jay, he was still asleep and looked so peaceful lying there. They had flown all night, deciding that flying under the shadows of the night would be good cover and to travel on the ground, or rest during the day would be best. No need to cause any unneeded speculation to arise. After all, it would be possible for the firenation to mistake her for the Avatar. She would be no match, since she only knew the basics at air bending. And hten what about Jay, what would they do to him if they were caught?
“Aria? Did you stay awake all night?” Jay asked sleepily sitting up.
She turned, “uh, I didn’t wake you did I?”
“No” he said quickly. “How long was I out?”
“I don’t know, maybe an hour or two.”
A small sliver of moonlight passed over them, jay caught her glance and she quickly shifted her gaze as the light faded again. He wouldn’t dare admit it, but he like it when she looked at him like that, when her eyes sparkled in the night.
“So where exactly are we going?” he asked
“I don’t really know, I mean, its hard to track the Avatar. They must be experts at hiding by now what with the fire nation constantly after them and all.”
“We should be landing soon, dawn will break soon, we don’t want to be seen do we?”
They landed quickly, and began their long trek through the woods.
“This isn’t good, its as if were being watched by someone?” Jay thought once they had been on the road for a few hours, and instantly raised his guard.
“Aria, get down!” he said, nearly tackling her to the ground. Time seemed almost to be in slow motion as he did so, the zing of sharp needles rang above them, as they sliced through the air in search of a target, before hitting the trees.
“Are you alright?” jay asked getting up.
“I-I’m fine. But how did you..”
“Well, well, Mai you missed! But that doesn’t matter. These are just some brats, where’s the Avatar?” Azula’s voice rang through the air with a vicious tone.
“The Avatar, how would I know?” Aria said getting to her feet.
“Because, you have his bison, you can’t lie, that’s our proof.” Ty Lee said coming into view from a tree branch.
““That’s not his bison, its mine.”
“Really? That cant be unless you stole Appa from him, since only Airbenders have them, and all the Airbenders were wiped out.”
“Is that really what you believe? Then take this, Phoenix Cyclone!” At that moment Aria let loose a wave of air that Jay and her had developed in case they ran into trouble, he infused his Firebending into it making a swirling whirlwind of wind and flames, allowing them to retreat tot the bison and escape.
“Azula, what do you want to do?” Ty Lee asked,” you didn’t fire after them.”
“ Were going to use them as bait.”
“As interesting as that sounds, when will something happen?” Mai said
“You always so down Mai, why cant you be happier?” Ty Lee asked.
“They’ll be bait if we keep making them fly in the daylight. Sooner or later they’ll be seen. Once the Avatar hears, he will more than likely come running to see if their really is another airbender. We’ll just have to keep them flying. And it doesn’t seem that that girl is to skilled with her bending…. so we’d win against them anyway since we know their technique now.”
“Azula your always so smart!” Ty Lee said in her usual happy way.
“Yeah, but didn’t you notice that boy, who saved that airbender girl? He used Firebending to help escape.”
“So, she’s got an accomplice, no matter, we can take him down no problem. A traitor is a traitor, he obviously had to know who I was.”
“That was close! Im glad we came up with that technique!”
“yeah, but now they know what our strength is. That was Azula back there, she’s probably plotting something now that she knows there’s another airbender, and a firebender who’s a traitor to his country….This is bad Jay! She’s gonna use us as bait for Aang! Ve’ar, we have to go faster, there’s no way we can let them.”
“But where can we lose them, its daylight, someone’s gonna see us, were like a moving target!”
“we’ve got bigger problems than hiding right now!” A huge barrage of fireballs was heading their way-but it was to late to block them as one hit Ve’ar and sent them spinning into the trees.
“This was way to easy!” Azula said laughing maliciously. “We should just take them into town and let the gossips take care of the rest. Ty Lee, Mai, tie them up, we’ll hear from the Avatar soon enough if this plan works. And if not, it was a good back up, to keep her from learning to much about air bending and its techniques. We don’t need anymore aerial attacks than we’ve already had.”
“Yes”
They all three had hit the ground hard, and were separated in the process. Aria struggled to get up, she had hit a good many trees on her way down. She managed to get on her knees at least, and grabbed her whistle, not only would it let her call Ve’ar, but if it was even possible for Aang and Appa to be in the area, then….
“What are you doing?” Mai asked, whipping her needles out pinning Aria to a tree to be tied up.
“None of your business! Now put me down!” She said quickly hiding the whistle.
“Ha! That’s a good one. Mai stepped over and took out a long rope, but she knew that Aria would probably put up a fight to get away. “Your gonna try and get away arentyou?”
“What do you think I am, an idiot! OF course Im gonna get away from y-“
Mai had knocked her out, Arias figure fell to the ground as she pulled the needles out of the tree. She then quickly tied up her prisoner and took her to where Azula was.
Jay’s landing wasn’t much better. It was as if he had hit every brach on every tree when he came flying through the woods. But he still got to his feet. Almost instantly Ty lee was flipping in.
“You! Don’t come any closer!”
“I’m sorry about this, but Azula gave me an order.” She delivered several quick jabs to his arms and legs making it impossible for him to move. He fell to the ground and she tied him up.
“What have you done with Aria?!” He demanded.
“Aria? So, that’s her name huh. What’s a cute guy like you worried about her for? She’s not even firenation!”
“She may not be firenation, but…”
“Don’t waste your breath! Ty Lee, are you going to take all day in questioning him or take him to Azula? Mai aid passing by, Aria knocked out on her rhino.
“Aria…”Jay barely whispered. He tried to move against the ropes that now bound him.
“You know its no use, I temporarily paralyzed your arms and legs, its hopeless.” Ty lee said strapping him down to her rhino. Before taking off to where Azula was.
But when they came into view, it was obvious that she was trying to capture the bison, blue flames were everywhere, but she had no prevail. That’s when it happened, Jay saw mai reach for her bag, and put the needle into the tube. It was then he had given up hope. Sheershu spit darts, it was over, there was no use in fighting it any longer.
“Im sorry Aria, I wasn’t much help to you.” He thought

[shadow=red,left,300][glow=red,2,300]Chapter 12 – Desperate Escape[/glow][/shadow]
When Aria awoke, it took her a moment for her memory to come rushing back to her. Suddenly the realization of where she was made her start.
“JAY!” she called in a failing attempt to find out if he was ok. She struggled against the chains that held back all her resistance. “Jay” she whispered again, as she sat still in the dimly lit stone room, that no matter how hard she tried, would withhold her screams, a secret of her misery never to be told.
As time passed, she began to think about how she had corrupted this world with her sudden arrival. If only she had never met jay, he wouldn’t be here, and Ve’ar would still be out there, saved for someone else worth the cause, who could actually help against this war.
The minutes turned to hours, which to her seemed to blur into days and eternity. Alas the torch on the wall had burned almost to the point of total darkness in the small room.. She began to wonder of her life was going to continue like this, would her captors really just leave her to die here? And what happened to Jay?
The door creaked open a little suddenly, and she lifted her gaze from the floor to the figure standing in the shadows. To her surprise, she saw it was -, no it couldn’t be, jay! But how had he gotten out?
“Jay? I-is that you?” she asked the strange figure just to make sure that the shadows weren’t playing tricks with her eyes.
He came over and put his hand over her mouth, and she understood to be silent.
In a low whisper he said, “One thing my dad made sure I knew, was to escape from impossible situations. So that in case something happened in the war that came our way we could get away. Lock picking was just one of those ways. Sorry it took so long to get over here, I had a run un with the night watchmen.” He said as the last chain was set on the ground. “From what I understand, they haven’t tied Ve’ar down because their using Sheershu spit darts.
“How did you get that information? You would have had to-“
“I did put the night watchmen at knife point before knocking him out.”
He led her around the dark corridors, past corner after corner, and clinging to the walls of another passage. When they were in earshot of hearing voices Jay stopped and put a knife in her hand.
“This is where we may have to split up, in case something happens. There are at least two guards at the door, and who knows how many on the inside.” At this, he drew his own knife and it was on. He ran from the corner charging the guards Aria close behind him. Jay quickly ducked close to the ground, sending flames racing toward the guards. Aria instantly knew what to do, and sent a sharp edged blast of wind at them. This technique had become her own by air bending from the blades edge. Creating a stream of wind that was sharp as a swords edge.
The guard stumbled back, taken off guard. Their weapons broken by the blast, now lay on the floor. Fear quickly became the emotion on their faces jay took no waste of time and overtook them with a quick series of jabs that knocked them out.
He motioned for her to follow as he quickly entered the room, clinging to the walls. There in the middle of the room lay Ve’ar. Quickly Aria took out her whistle and gave it a soft blow. This wore off the rest of the spit darts effects from earlier. Aria ran over to the bison and made sure that the saddlebags were still secure. The few items that had seemed to still be there. Aria got her staff out, folding it to fit in her pocket. (This was a modification she had made to conceal her weapon/glider.)
Suddenly a small slit of light appeared on Ve’ar just in front of her, she froze for an instant and immediately backed off. The bison just lay still, as the light spread throughout the room, revealing a large trap door above. The figures of two people could be seen on the ledge above.
“See princess, the Sheershu spit darts last quite a long time.” Said a strange mans voice.
“Well then, just keep an eye on it, we don’t need any strange happenings around here. And why is it not tied up!” Azula’s voice rang through with its razor sharpness.
“Yes princess.” the man said as he walked away.
The window was being closed now, Jay suddenly grabbed Aria’s hand and ran for the bison. Just as they heard a voice above say that a guard had been found knocked out in the passage, and that Jays cell which was nearby was found empty.

[shadow=red,left,300][glow=red,2,300]Chapter 13 – Close calls[/glow][/shadow]
The light from the overhanging window was diminishing to a slight sliver as they rose out of the prison.
“Their escaping! Capture them!” voices rang out in confusion below, as attempts were made to bring them to the ground. Huge Fireballs crashed all around them, sending them spiraling out of the way. They had almost made it past the prison walls when a flash of blue zipped through the air, crashing into a watch tower as it narrowly missed them.
Aria looked back to see Azula, her stance ready for another attack. Whirlwind arcs of lightning were thrust across the ever growing distance as Jay urged Ve’ar higher into the cover of the clouds. Azula was not one to give up easily, and once led to pursuit, showed the skill of a master tracker, for she was used to tracking the Avatar and her exiled brother Zuko.
But the distance was now too great for her to hit her target. She would have to find them another day. For now they were safe, but getting out of the Fire Nation like this would be hard, messenger hawks would be dispatched with their wanted posters, and the nation as a whole would be on the lookout. Not to mention their colonists in the other nations, how would they get around now?
“The Avatar is bound to notice where we are at now” Jay said, as the clouds blew past them. “Our wanted posters will be by his soon enough.”
“Sure, but now we’ll have to be on our guard all the time, Azula will track us down, and it’s not hard to find people who go around flying in the sky.”
“Relax; she can’t track us if we fly with cloud cover, and at night. We’ll stick to unpopulated areas. Besides, you still need to work on your airbending skills a bit more. IF we’re going to have any chance against Azula, were going to need it.”
Soon they had reached the ocean. But its vast horizon set more problems; they were going to have to get more supplies if they were to make it to the earth kingdom. Azula had ordered the saddlebags be ransacked. Only a few items remained. This was going to be a lot harder then she had anticipated.
“Keep heading toward the earth kingdom, I’ll catch up with you in a bit.” Aria said taking her glider and jumping off the bison into the setting suns light.
“Aria, that’s not a good idea!” Jay called, but it was no use, she was already gone.
“We need more supplies, and if I land on the beach and walk to a town from there I should be fine. They wont even notice.” Aria thought to herself as she lowered from the dense clouds. And besides, she was getting better at landing from her glider anyway, practice is a good thing, as Jay had pointed out only moments before.
But just as she was descending, something caught her eye. A figure was steadily moving toward her, a bison. Jay had led Ve’ar back for her? No, it wasn’t Ve’ar, but it was defiantly too soon for Aang to have found her here.
