Ehh, tell me what you think, I'm kind of rushing a bit to use the really pretty words xD
Chapter 2
Dear Diary,
I love how everything seemed to deteriorate more the last few days. The screaming has been crazy lately, continuing on until the wee hours of the early morning darkness casting over the palace. Things haven’t improved much since we got here; beginning with the night that Azula barley bled me to death with her razor sharp fingernails that ripped through my frail skin. It seemed like the most unnecessary things ticked her off, for no reason whatsoever.
Well basically it started off with her yanking the hell of my lifeless body that night. I guess I must have been deep in passionate dream for her to have to dig her cat like nails into my fair flesh and muscle. But besides that point, I don’t think she had a good enough reason to get all furious and stressed as she did.
It was pathetic, all over me falling asleep, and not watching over the palace for secret agents still following under the rule of Long Feng, or even the avatar. It was a once in a lifetime chance, and besides Ty Lee was up; it wasn’t really even a big deal. I just wish sometimes that the avatar would just tear her thick fleshed and muscled body from limb to limb. Just to see the tears river down her pale cheeks and drown upon her cold heart would just intrigue me. Just to see the revenge, the revenge of me, but more importantly Zuko.
“C’mon Zuzu, we don’t have time to be fooling around.” Azula said in a plastic tone. It was the next morning, and there she marched, early as the morning sunrise with her fatigue looking as royal as ever.
Zuko on the other hand looked as a peasant, granted into an amazing palace from a gift of a god. He eyeballed all the rich jewels that were crafted into every piece of the upstanding palace.
Just like home. He smiled to himself as he quickly trailed behind his younger sister. She was walking a bit fast, but just at the right pace for Zuko. He knew it was just like home, once again.
Soon, I’ll be atop of my throne, and I shall divide my attention to the war, and yet hopefully a beautiful queen. He thought as he paced his way towards the throne room of the palace.
It was more beautiful than the rest. The room was enlightened with dazzling gold on every piece of stone that shadowed the two. Inside the stones held emeralds, the most famous jewel in the Earth Kingdom. It glistened in every crack and crevice that came into Zuko’s view.
“We are almost there Zuko, and you will be yet again prized as an honored hero, and will regain the love and affection that you always desired, once again.” She pronounced without taking a single look into the golden eyes of her banished brother.
“We’ve been walking for awhile don’t you think Azula?” He shook at the thought of what his metallic minded sister would have to say in response. “Zuzu, this is an Earth Kingdom palace, not a little peasant shack that you and uncle occupied in.” She smashed out.
Off of the palace throne room marked a large vague stairway upwards. It was dark and very musty, as if it hadn’t of been opened for decades. It was cold; icy as the bitter air pierced Zuko’s skin like needles stabbing him over and over, continuously, but so much that it numbed the pain away.
“Azula what the hell is this place?” He asked, curious of what the answer might be, but she only smirked in excitement.
“Zuko, this is going to be your room for the time being. I mean it’s furnished richly, and the structure itself is the king’s bedroom.” She lied without hesitation. She was an expert at lying, and manipulation.
“Why is this stairway so dark and depressing then?” he asked still not in belief that it was the king’s bedroom. “Zuko, my dear Zuko. Would you expect the king to have his bedroom somewhere where everyone could find him?” She lipped as she finally reached the last layer of stairs that headed onward to a heaven so unknown.
“I guess so… but…” “Zuko, we’re here!” She said in an excited realistic tone, that only a fool would believe.
The Princess swiftly intertwined her fingers with the door handle. She twisted them for a moment, making sure Zuko was in total belief of this being the King’s bedroom.
“Ready…?” She asked. He didn’t say anything, but slowly approached the room, he went in first with the courtesy of Azula holding the door for him, and leisurely closing it behind the two.
“What the hell!!!” His voice echoed.
-- Later That Day --
“Mai have you seen Azula anywhere.” The pinked girl asked in a sweet tone, expecting Mai to know the answers. When Azula wasn’t around, Ty Lee always followed everything Mai did, like she was in charge.
“No, Ty Lee, I haven’t… seen her around.” She answered in a bland irritated voice. “Oh, okay, just thought I would ask.” She only blended out a large cheerful smile, and summer salted down the long hallway toward the king’s throne.
Maybe she fell off a cliff. Mai considered as she tapped her long black painted fingernails upon her diary cover.
The minutes seemed like hours, and every second seemed like a lifetime as Mai stared consecutively toward the designs carved into the ceiling of the palace.
There were so many different pictures she could make out. A king sitting upon a large gold plated throne, a group of citizens all praising the king bowing their heads in his respect, and indented past avatars carved above the king in a sky like view.
The thing that caught Mai’s attention the most though, was a simple carving. It was a handsome man holding hands with a beautiful woman. They wore detailed clothing that must have taken hours to carve into, and they smiled at each other with a true loving passion.
How I wish that were Zuko and I just together, holding hands and smiling at each other, just for a kiss. She imagined as she closed her eyes to the staring reflection that blurred in her mind. Oh how I wish…
“SLAM…!” The large emerald door slammed as Azula dashed out from it. “Azula! I was looking for you…” Ty Lee smiled, hoping Azula would say something in return, but she didn’t.
“Ladies! We have something to discuss.” She smirked as she stared deep into Mai’s curious eyes. That meant trouble…

Chapter 1
Dear Diary,
The questions have been dragging me down, and tearing me apart. Azula hasn’t returned yet from fighting, and Ty Lee is just hanging about, doing dang cartwheels again. I really wondered if this was necessary to be doing, but hey what can I do, this could be my only chance, my only chance to see Zuko, and talk to him, once again like I did in childhood.
Something is telling me though, that I will be making a mistake, just wrong again, and have to suffer again, just like I did on Zuko’s banishment.
That witch, she actually had enough nerve to laugh, laugh in front of my face as I watched him being pulled away by the firenation soldiers. The tears flooded my eyes, and the bitter devoured my mind as she laughed at me, and laughed at him.
What I would have done just to shut her up, just so smack that smile off her face, just to kill her…I thought hard and long about what I could do to repay her for her “courtesy” but everything that came to my mind was brutal and cold, At that time, it wasn’t me, but now, I think it is…
“Hey Mai what are you doing?” Ty Lee approached with a cheery mile wide smile upon her face. She always seemed so cheerful, but it seemed like there was no reason why, just a natural appearance, or maybe a mask, covering her true face.
Mai looked at the bubbly girl with a blank expression and rapidly closed her life away. “Nothing, Ty Lee, goodnight.” She said as she quickly walked away toward her guest room, holding the diary close to her heart, protecting it from all dangers, just like she wished she could have done for Zuko.
She quickly darted into her room, her quiet, dark, mysterious room. A few candles were lit, but nothing was lighting the few corners that stared upon her.
She slowly collapsed upon her soft bed, and stared up toward the darkness, the silence left the room isolated of thoughts, and feeling. Mai felt paralyzed upon the fluffy bed, she felt a cold rush run through her skin, but no windows were opened, and the kingdom was indefinitely warm.
Tears lavished her eyes as she thought of nothing; it was like the room, isolated, filled with nothing, no one at all. She never cried in front of Azula and Ty Lee, it would be both embarrassing to herself, and Azula.
Azula, that dang b***h! She thought as the tears began to river down her blushed cheeks. Her face felt hot as she placed her ghostly hand upon them, she dragged her nails down her cheeks softly, and relaxed her hand on the fluffy pillow her head laid upon.
It was only moments before she fell into a darkening sleep. She laid asleep silently, and traveled with the dreams that approached her through the night…
~Dream~
“Haha Zuko, you’re so pathetic! What a loser!” Azula laughed as a wicked grin appeared on her devilish face. “I mean, I knew you were pathetic before, but boy does this take the cake!” She continued.
Her words hollowed into Mai’s mind as she watched Zuko wrap his fingers into a fist. “Azula! It doesn’t matter anyways! You can be better, but I’ll be the one who takes the throne after father! You’ll be the one begging me for help, and I’ll just laugh in your face!” Zuko responded in a furious tone, he was shaking all over his body as sweat dripped through his black hair and done his flushed cheek.
Haha, she got told! I knew it would come one of these days! Mai thought as she watched the argument with Zuko and Azula continue.
Azula was looking at her dangerously sharp nails, picking at the blood red nail polish that scorched them.
“Are you done?” She asked. “No and another thing Azula!” “Shut up, you loser! Urgh! You just annoy me so bad! It’s pathetic! I mean Zuzu I don’t want to laugh, but it’s just funny!” She interrupted.
“Why you…” “And another thing Zuzu, we’ll just see about your little throne theory” She wisped as she turned and sauntered away into the palace.
“dang her…!!” Zuko muttered to himself as he walked the opposite direction. “Why can’t I be the better one for once, why?”
Mai looked over, not knowing what to say. Ty Lee apparently was gone with Azula, but now it was just Zuko and Mai, Mai and Zuko. The words just left butterflies in her stomach as she smiled a bit and began to blush.
Oh no, I’m blushing! She thought as she hid herself away from Zuko. I hope he doesn’t notice!
“I will be Firelord!! I will be Firelord!! I will be!!” Zuko screamed as he blasted a fire spark through the back wall of the palace.
I wonder if he’s okay? He looks pretty upset… Mai thought as she stood up from the grassy surface below her. She looked toward his direction, he was still and alone. She knew he was furious, she would’ve been too if her sister would have disrespected her like that.
She began to stroll over towards him, she crept over quietly step-by-step, inch-by-inch. Maybe I can calm him.
She began to tiptoe, not to disturb Zuko’s moment of tranquility. The air was clean and fresh as she inhaled and exhaled softy with every step she took towards her love.
Step by step inch-by-inch, step-by-step inch-by-inch. She thought as she moved at a faster pace with her tiptoeing.
She was merely inches from Zuko until it happened…
“Ahhhh!” Mai yelled as a strong gust of wind blew over, and knocked her aside. She could feel her heartbeat pounding and pounding, racing with every bit of time she had left before falling face first into the ground.
It went dark…
“Chirp…Chirp” Am I dead? What is that? She thought in a space of black, everything seemed swirled up in black, but was scattered across a red tint, that brightened the darkness.
“Are you okay?” A voice asked. Mai rapidly snapped her eyes opened as she wriggled her eyelids around and looked above her, she smiled.
“Uh… yeah… I’m fine…” She blushed as she looked into Zuko’s golden brown eyes, they enlightened her.
“Well that’s good, we don’t want you falling now do we?” He winked.
“Oh no… I … guess not.” She managed to stutter out. She felt her temperatures rising, and she felt his warm touch expand across her back.
He reached for her hand and gently lifted her up into a normal stance. She blushed madly, trying to hold her emotions in, but it didn’t work.
“I’m sorry…” She rushed as she dashed away into the palace doors. Zuko watched as she ran into the palace, the dreaded dungeon that Azula lived in.
“I’m sorry too…” He frowned as he continuously resumed watching the wall, just as he did moments before the incident.
~End~
“Mai! Wake up now!” Azula yanked her. Mai looked up to see an angry face that was too common to recite.
I wonder what happened now… She thought.
