Alright, so, I think I got these right. It's all stuff I was toying with, but never put in.
Name: Kagome
Age: 9
Bender: Water
Nation: Water (natural parents) and fire (adoptive parents)
Parents: Two unknown water tribe members are her natural-born parents; her adoptive parents are Fire Lord Zuko and his wife
Hair: brown
Eyes: blue
Clothes: a red Fire Nation dress. It’s very beautiful, expensive, and adorned with many decorations
Flaws: She’s a really bad bender, no matter how hard she tries; she can never get it right. She also is very sensitive to any criticism about her father.
Description: Kagome is a nine-year-old Waterbender. When she was just a baby, she was adopted by the Fire Lord, Zuko, when he found her on the side of the road. Zuko’s wife had recently given birth to a baby girl, but she had died only a few hours after birth. The only people that know about his daughter are: his wife; his sister, Azula; Azula’s son and husband; Iroh; the Avatar; Katara; Shiro; Sokka; and a few ‘trustworthy’ soldiers. She knows that she has to be hidden from the outside world, but the only reason that she knows about her adoption is because she overheard her parents talking about it one night. Most of the time, they live on a ship, because it’s easier to keep her hidden than the palace. Kagome likes it when they visit the palace, though, because it means that her parents will have a little more time to play with her, and because her cousin, Miko lives there with them. Kagome is defiantly a “Daddy’s Girl” and can’t take any criticism about him. When she learns about the War, she storms off in fury. She develops a crush on the Avatar’s son, Shiro.
Name: Shiro Age: 12 Bender: Water and air Nation: water (technically air, too) Parents: Katara and Aang Hair: light brown Eyes: grey-blue Clothes: water tribe stuff, as only the Avatar himself is allowed to wear non-water tribe clothes Flaws: He pretty much hates his parents. He has nothing against them personally, but he hates the fact that his dad is the Avatar. He is also pretty manipulative, and will do almost anything to get what he wants (it comes from being the Avatar’s kid) Description: Shiro is the 12-year-old son of the Avatar. He despises that his father is the Avatar, since that made him an instant celebrity. Due to his father and genetics, Shiro is an excellent bender, and, his family moved from the Southern Water Tribe to the Northern one so that he could interact with other bending kids his own age. He still despises his genetics and wants to go back to the Southern Water Tribe where he was born and his favorite Uncle lives. When Kagome came, he tried to use her to gain access to the Fire Navy ship where she lives. Appa, his father’s flying bison, is too old to fly and Shiro wants to get out of the Northern Water Tribe – and fast. After a while, he starts to like Kagome (not the way she likes him), and starts to enjoy teaching and helping her to master her bending, though she’s pretty much a hopeless cause.
Name: Miko Age: 7 Bender: fire Nation: fire Parents: Azula (yes, I mean it) and her dead husband Hair: short, buzzed brown hair Eyes: brown along the outer rims, but, near the center, his eyes are a very bright red Clothes: red shirt and matching poofy black pants (his mother dresses him) Flaws: He's 7! What all can 7-year-olds do? His immaturity eventually drives Shiro almost crazy. Description: Miko is Zuko's nephew, making him Kagome's cousin. He loves his cousin to death and is one of the few people that know about her existence. After the death of her husband, Azula turned cruel to the outside world. Only her family sees her as the caring person whom they love. With the help of his mother and Uncle, Miko mastered firebending at the age of 6.
Name: Alaya Age: 12 Bender: earth Nation: she thinks earth, since it's her bending element Parents: none (orphan) Hair: brown Eyes: slanted green-brown eyes. Like Miko, they are brown on the outside, but, instead of red, they are green on the inside. Other than that, the only difference between their eyes is the fact that the green in her eyes is more dominant than the brown. Clothes: whatever she can find. normally it's a green dress Flaws: She longs to find out about her past, and she can't bend well, due to her lack of teaching Description: Alaya is a 12-year-old earthbender. Miko gave her the name, and, normally calls her “Lay-Lay” The only memory of her parents that she has is looking into her mother's eyes and noticing that they matched her own. She was very young when her parent disappeared (not gonna say ‘died’ because they *may* make an appearance) Alaya only knows simple earthbending things, enough for her to manage to eat. (Like bending a tree so that it bears fruit faster). Every now and then, she manages to meet someone who will invite her into their home and feed her a nice, hot meal. Other people will give her money, and, whenever she has enough, she buys a loaf of bread and shares it with other orphans. Shiro, Miko, and Kagome meet her when they stop at her city on their way to the South Pole to meet Uncle Sokka (everyone in the story, except for a few, call him Uncle Sokka).
Note: In the sequel to Kagome's story, (Meteor Destiny), the gang spends a little of the story traveling alone. They were gonna travel with Zuko, but he had to do something (haven't decided what yet), so they're stuck by themselves, but only for a little bit. If they had traveled with Zuko, they most likely wouldn't have met Alaya. Meteor Destiny is still a work in progress, so I'm still fine-tuning Miko and Alaya. Alaya's story will most likely be revealed in the story, so I don't wanna give away too much. Miko and Kagome will talk about their lives a good bit, too. Shiro, however, won't talk much about his, since he hated it.

Just for kicks... this character’s in continual development, so why not get some feedback. Name: Amaya Gender: Female Age: 17 Nation: Fire Appearance: img.photobucket.com/albums/v159/kaligargoyle/amayaoutfits.jpgActually, my sig is a more current look. Personality: Amaya is (generally) tactful and polite, but not openly friendly, and has become more introverted as she aged. She’s only truly open with those she knows and trusts, and even then it’s sometimes hard for her to express her emotions with language, and will usually do so with actions, even if they’re small ones. She really just wants to do what makes her happy, is enough of a realist to see how the world really is, but still tries to do the “little things”. She understands other people rather well and is very diplomatic. Her sense of right and wrong is based more on intent and reason rather than the particular action. History: Born in the heart of the Fire Nation to two highly esteemed artisans, she’s spent her life studying art in many forms. Her parents were favored by many noble families, and at five years old, she started traveling with them, met Zuko, and they became friends and played together whenever her family was in the area. Amaya’s family is loving and supportive. Both parents are alive, but her older brother Matao, a soldier in the Fire Nation army, is currently MIA (missing in action.) At 16, Amaya traveled to the Earth Kingdom under the reason of wanting to study the arts of the culture but slowly slipped farther and farther away from FN occupied lands. Skills: The arts, of course. Drawing, painting, clothing design/making, and woodcarving/burning are her favorites. She’s a beginner at jewelry making. Cooking and music seem to be out of her grasp. Other than that, she knows basic self-defense, is competent at projectile weapons, such as throwing blades and bow and arrows, and prefers taking advantage of the fact that most people figure she can’t fight at all. (In short, she’d get her butt handed to her by most of the main characters in the show, but would probably manage to escape before that happened.) Misc: Amaya is very fond of tattoos and has a Fire symbol on her left shoulder blade. At seven years old, sick with fever, Amaya had a brief visit to the Spirit World. She has an attraction to Zuko, but their friendship is more important to her.

Review of Kali Gargoyle's OC:
Heh, I like the name ‘cause it’s the same as one of my OC’s daughter ^^;
Personality- Good
History- Well, there’s the connection to Zuko, which could possibly create a problem. However, if done correctly, it can be interesting…
The only problem I have with her history is that she travels to the Earth Kingdom. Growing up in the Fire Nation, she would have been raised to believe that the Earth Kingdom is inferior, so why would she care about their culture? It would be more plausible if her family moved to an area of the Earth Kingdom that had been taken over by the Fire Nation…
Skills- Good
Misc- I don’t really think a tattoo would be acceptable in her culture. Also, visiting the Spirit World just because she was sick is a bit much. So far, it seems only the Avatar is capable of visiting the Spirit World.

History- Well, there’s the connection to Zuko, which could possibly create a problem. However, if done correctly, it can be interesting… So far, no one’s complained about their friendship. I understand though, I know lots of “Mary Sues” plug a connection to Zuko (and/or other characters) - usually one that doesn’t fit with canon. I’ve described Amaya’s relationship to Zuko as “that girl who sometimes helps me with my homework” rather than the “OMG! BFF! I LOVE YOU! I LOVE YOU TOO!” that shows up on the avatarsues LJ so often. I don't think you can stereotype all Fire Nation citizens as believing the Earth Kingdom is inferior. Take Iroh, for example, even as he was breaking down the walls of Ba Sing Se, he still commented on how magnificent the city was. It’s respect. Her family also isn’t military, they’re artisans, a different class somewhat removed from the war. As an individual, Amaya loves art, no matter where it’s from and was as thrilled at the idea of being able to learn the mediums and techniques from other cultures as she was learning Fire Nation styles. Amaya also had a lot of other reasons for leaving, studying art was just her “official” excuse. Iroh visited the Spirit World, and he’s definitely not the Avatar. Sokka and other people were also taken to the Spirit World by Hei Bai. Out of body and similar experiences are not uncommon in cases of those who are very, or even deathly sick. I added it to misc. because it does not effect her daily life, but I intend to do something with it. As for her tattoo, I never said everyone accepted it, or even knows it exists (obviously, it's covered up,) but we have no proof either way of what other people’s attitudes would be. Tattooing is, after all, another art form. It was a subtle symbol of rebellion on her part, as well, not just getting it, but the symbol she chose.

I know this isn’t a problem because I’ve seen your work on DA; I was just pointing out that everyone who has a connection to canon characters should handle it delicately, that’s all ^^ Okay, I can see how she could be interested in Earth Kingdom art/culture, but I doubt that Earth Kingdom citizens would be very accepting of her (case in point: “Zuko Alone”). That’s why I suggested that she go to an area of the Earth Kingdom that had been taken over by the Fire Nation. Alright, these are good arguments. I’m still not sure about the Spirit World thing, seeing as how Iroh is much older and Sokka was taken there, but I can see this happening. Again, I’ve seen your work on DA, so I know that Amaya isn’t a Sue ^^

Um, don't we need people telling us if these are Sues. *sighs* I'm dying to know before I go too much further into my story. Especially since Alaya is *currently* a MS. Alaya is one of the KEY people in my story. She's a lot like Toph in several ways.

I have a qustion that kind of relates to this and kind of doesn't. Sorry:-[ I'm thinking of using Malu from the TCG in a story, but i was wondering if that is sue-ish, because she is a surviving airbender, and a powerful one. So it would be a pretty big stretch of the canon. I read something that said if your character is an airbender, she's probably a sue.
I intended to have her help aang & co, but not join up with them. Still, I'm worried she might just be too powerful and ruin the story.
But of course, no romance at all cause she would be waayyy old. What do you guys think?

Having Malu in your story doesn't make it sueish, but having her in the story with Aang and co just might. Malu is supposed to have lived back at the beginning of the war, aka ~100 years ago. So her beign in the present and helping Aang would be very weird. Unless she is super old like Bumi. But even that doesn't help you on the "last airbender" issue. If you can come up with a good way for her to meet the gang and a good explaniation for why she is in the present, then it may be alright. @others. I have seen that some of you are waiting specifically on me to critique your OCs. Sorry, I wasn't aware of that. I really only did the critique before because I felt like it on the spur of the moment. I noticed this now though and will get to it ASAP. I may have something for you guys tomorrow night.

This is out of curiousity, since he's a major character. I wanna know.. Round face with the tradtional airbender eyes. He's missing his left arm and has several scars. Here is currently: www.deviantart.com/deviation/33612246/ art done by Damunch Here is what he might look like in the temple...Art done by Youkai Slayer www.deviantart.com/deviation/33585820/Personality: Chiko is a sweet tempered child. Very compassionate and gentle. He tries to see the good in people, and is easy to forgive. He very loyal to his brothers and loves them dearly. Though he maybe sixteen, he still acts like he's thirteen or twelve, the result of mental retardation. He is easily frighten and fooled, and often hides behind Yomi who acts like father to him. He may seem ignorant of the world. But he still understands and acknowledges many concepts, the conquences of them. He loves to be around people and is eager to please them. He smiles and laughs alot in the daytime, but at night, suffers from nightmares and flashbacks, giving him a difficult sleep. Slow learner, but he has an excellent memory and few hidden talents. Background: Infancy Chiko came from a poor family. His father Toji and mother Umi had fourteen children before Chiko's birth, most of are bison herders like there father. Chiko however was the straw that broke the camel's back. Umi and Toji couldn't feed him so. Toji took their two-year old to the woods and left him there. Hoping that the gods will take him back. The monks found him in forest almost week after he was left there. He was naked, crying, hungry and sick. Monk Tang and Gyatso didn't know he will live, but they took him to the Southern Air Temple and tried to nurse him back to health, and make him an acolyte of the temple. Yomi, who lost his biological brother two years prior. Helped Monk Tang with the fussy baby. It was he who suggested the child to be called. "Chi-ko" or "Earth Child". Childhood Chiko love life in the temple, but it wasn't easy. The Monks relised that Chiko wasn't an ordinary little boy. He was very different. I think that Chiko is a very well developed character and is not a Gary-Stu.
Now here's mine. Name: Kitsu
Male
Age 12
Hair: He has black hair cut almost in a pudding bowl style but much messier.
Eyes: Brown
Nation: Northern Water Tribe
Bender: Waterbender
Level of Skill: He is an okay waterbender, average for his age.
Family: He has a caring mother, and his father is in the army.
Friends: Giya and Yuki, both female. They call themselves the cloudbursts. He does NOT have a crush on Giya or Yuki. They enjoy combining moves but are not very good at it.
Background: He tried teaching his two best friends, Giya and Yuki to waterbend when he was 10 and in return, they taught him to heal. Master Pakku caught on and berated Kitsu for that. He forgave Kitsu eventually because he was so young at the time, although Master Pakku seemed a little colder to him since that day on. Kitsu seems to have a mental block with healing so he is only able to heal the most minor cuts and burns. He saw when the avatar went into water spirit mode in the siege of the north, and soon after finds out that Yuki is missing. He knows Yuki’s secret that her mother is actually a fire nation woman who died giving birth to her, so he thinks the avatar kidnapped her. He is now on a quest with Giya to find Aang and make him give her back.
Personality: He is a quiet and shy boy. He loves his mother very much, but never really go to know his father because he was always training. He loves waterbending, and loves to make sculptures by bending the water then freezing it.
Please tell me if he is a Gary-Sue!

I want to get my OC judge, the last RP forum I join went done so I plan to join a new one any help on my oc would be appreciated.
Name: Jiang Ku (chinese surname first, given name last) Age: 35 Nation: Earth Kingdom Bender?: Yes --> Earth Appearance: Jiang Ku stands at 5'8'' and has a medium size built. He has long brown hair that goes to his waist untie. He has forest green eyes and his unique feature is that he wears an eye patch over his left eye. He looks very young for his age people usually asume he's in his early 20s.
Jiang Ku wears a long white coat that has green border trimmings he fastens his coat with his green belt that has a gold dragon head adorn on it. The belt also holds in place the only armor Jiang Ku wears his green/grey stomach guard. The guard coloring also matches his scarf that he wears that resembles a scarf that a thief would wear. His pants are a dark grey while his shirt is a light grey with gold trimmings at the bottom. His shoes are white boots that have gold trimming at the top and have the same but smaller in size dragon head that is found on his belt.
Weapons/Fighting Styles: Jiang Ku perfers not to fight though he is handy with his sword. He carries a Dao Sword with a gold phoenix adorn on the handle. His home is filled with massive amount of books that he has gather through his travels. Also there are is a good size collection of miniature models such as Ba Sing Se, Omashu, The Southern water Tribe before it was destroy, and many other temples. Ku enjoys teaching children about the outside world and feels anguish when he can't really go into more detail to them about the Avatar, Air benders, or the Fire Nation. He began to go weary of the fighting, death, and orphan children. The final straw came when his girlfriend a fellow traction Tan Fei was killed. Afterward Jiang Ku resign from his post, with a promises from the council that if he ever wanted to return the post would be available for him. He quietly return home and began to study again. He soon resume his first passion in life traveling. Sense then he's been traveling the world hoping for the war to end and maybe to one day run into his mentor again.

Well, I've never done anything like this, and I'm pretty sure my character is a complete Mary-Sue, but, oh well, I'm bored...
Name: Sen Nation: Fire Gender: Female Age: 16 Bender: Fire Skill level: Good for her age; shows potential, though still learning Hair: Black, pulled back in large, braided bun Eyes: Amber Clothing: Layered fire nation clothing (two red/orange dresses), glass-beaded headband Personality: Generally quiet, submissive in relationships and friendships. Intelligent, though sometimes too trusting for her own good. Can be very stubborn in her thinking, and often has a hard time recognizing people's flaws or bad intentions. History/Life: Born in a poor fishing village in the Fire Nation, in a large family that could barely support her. She was scorned by her family as being lazy and selfish, as she often skipped chores to practice bending. She was discovered by a Fire Nation admiral when she was 13; he saw her bending in the forest, and realized that she could be a very skilled bender if she was trained well. Later, after seeing how poor Sen's family was, he offered to take her off their hands and train her. They graciously accepted the offer. The admiral was planning to boost his reputation as a firebending master by providing an example of his work, a simple peasant girl molded into a perfect fighter. My story begins when she is 16, and nearly finished with her training.
