I just wanted to make a thread to discuss the awesomeness that are Jinora, Ikki, and Meelo.
Meelo is hilarious and definitely reminds me of sokka, as long as they don't over use him and keep the humor mature (please don't force poop/fart jokes on them nick) he's probably going to be one of my favorites.
and I loved Jinora's line when Tenzin asked her not to grow up to act like Korra, "I will make no such promises."

I think Tenzin's family is like Pachas family(The Emperor's new Groove/School). I like Jinora.

Meelo is hilarious and definitely reminds me of sokka, as long as they don't over use him and keep the humor mature Meelo is adorable! He's a precocious little child for sure-so young and yet so skilled at Airbending and Snowbending but I think the Sokka-esque roll will be filled by Bolin. His lines and mannerisms definitely reminded me of him especially when he side-whispered to Mako, "I think this girl is the Avatar!!" while pointing to her when Korra was right in front of him. That's something Sokka would definitely do if he didn't actually-I swear I could recall something like that actually happening in ATLA. But Meelo is a cute kid-about to be an older brother too! I'm excited to see when the fourth child will be born which I expect will probably be by the end of this series. Perhaps sooner. He adds humor but he's more than that too. Ikki bears an uncanny resemblance to Ty Lee. Her persona at least. Her relationship to her sister Jinora also bears a slight resemblance to that of Ty Lee and Mai's friendship to me. Just a little. Katara and Aang's grandchildren are cute nonetheless!

I am loving these children. They are each different and interesting in that you have the bookworm and more thoughtful Jinora, the chatterbox Ikki, and the adorable Meelo. I can a little of both Aang and Katara in these children which is nice touch.
The only thing that makes me sad is that Aang didn't live to meet these children. I think they would have adored him and he would have loved them .

I do like the kids and wonder if they will take more active roles as the series progresses though I doubt that Bryke would distract the focus away from Korra and company that long let alone Tenzin allow them to come in harms way with what's been happening in the series lately.
Maybe they can have one episode focused squarely on what sort of mischievous adventures airbending children can get up to in the big city when their parents aren't watching.

They will probably do that in the second season, when they have a little more leeway with time. Right now they seem dead set on keeping the plot flowing as fast as possible.
That bothers me a bit, but what can you do with such a short season?

That bothers me a bit, but what can you do with such a short season? Make tighter and more focused stories. Which are more pluses than cons IMO.

Which is fine, but I sometimes feel that the series is TOO tight at times. Sometimes you need to stop and breath, or at least allow some time to flesh things out. Its not that bad of course, but I wish they had a few more episodes so they can slow down a bit. I don't need lots of fluff or anything, just a little more time for exposition and plot. Don't get me wrong though, I am impressed in the amount of information they put into each episode despite the time limit.

Well, it seems the kids took a more active role in the latest episode. Would anyone like to make a guess as to what Rohan's personality will be? I'm thinking he'll be more like Jinora or Tenzin than Ikki or Meelo.

I absolutely love these kids, well Meelo not so much because of the whole 'fartbending' thing, but the girls are amazing. Glad that they got screen time in the final episodes but I never want to see them in that situation again, it was almost heartbreaking!
The whole airbending (and non-airbending) family are my favourite cast members and I do hope that we get to see a lot more of them next series. As much as the kids are somewhat one dimensional, their scenes are usually fun to watch and they always add something to the scene they're in (in my opinion). Again, can't wait to see them next series and hopefully a lot more of them too!

They were pretty great, but I don't like the fact that Bryke made the decision that they were the ONLY airbenders left in the world. It puts a lot of pressure on all of them to have MANY children when they get older.
It also means that all future airbenders will be related, meaning that NO airbenders should ever have children together. Sorry just a lot of ICK a bad story decision.
