This is the first i'm hearing that the entire generation is dead. This is a hard concept to wrap my head around and I don't know if I can completely believe that it's true. As previously stated I feel they would have to be murdered to all be dead. I dont find it fair that the gAang and others from the generation would all have died out within 70 years while Bumi lived to be 112 and Avatar Kyoshi was over 200. EDIT: Okay I just read the think with Andrea Romano. I know obviously she's a credible source, but I feel like because she only did 3 episodes at the time of the recording, how does she know the entire generation has died out ? The question she was asked was whether or not Aang would be in the series and she tells us everyone has died out. I can't find it credible that she would say everyone has passed on in the series. Maybe from her viewpoint everyone has passed on and from what she hears and casts voice actors, but I still feel like some of the original cast might be alive just unseen but spoken of in the background, or maybe easter eggs like something dumb such as a poster saying "Come to Sokkas joke shop for a live autograph signing by the hilarious warrior himself" Ya know something dumb that tells us they're still alive whether we see them or not. I agree that while we don't have anything that can be defined as "definitive proof" that the Gaang have all passed on, I would have to say that Andrea Romano is a very credible source since she does work very closely with Bryke in the story and creative department. Just saying... And as far as King Bumi and Avatar Kiyoshi goes... while it may be common for certain people in the Avatar's world to live on for centuries, it has been stated that this is still the exception and not the norm as far as normal lifespans go even for humans of this seemingly magical fantasy world. Not to mention that Bryke have pretty much admitted that they wanted to tell new stories with new characters in a new setting. As far as I know, while I don't like the idea that the Gaang have all kicked the proverbial bucket, from a objective stand-point and given the setting that they all lived in... it's still entirely plausible.

Maybe i stated that wrong =/
I mean I know Andrea Romano is a credible person, but I feel like she responded to the question in a quick and non credible way like..."Obviously Aang is dead, it's 70 years later whole generation is dead!!!"
So I feel like she might have said it and then not even realized how drastic of what she said was.

Sadly no matter how she said it, considering how close she is to the creative team and the process, that doesn't mean she's wrong. But like I said, there's no definitive proof yet so it's not out of the realm of possibilities. My objectivity has trouble discrediting her testimony, but for my money, I hope you're right.

While I'm sad that the gAang we know and love is gone I have high hopes for the new series. The new characters have some big shoes to fill. Republic City sounds like an interesting location. A city with high crime rates maybe it has bender gangs running around. The bender vs non bender thing feels like its been done before, but it could be pretty fun.

New York Comic Con is coming up right? HOPEFULLY/ maybe they'll give more inside scoops about the new series I kind of want like a little trailer even if it's like 5 seconds (a lot can go into that!) or maybe more pictures

M. Night will be there! The presence of Katee Sackhoff & Tricia Helfer already covers the price of admission in my book.

One of my goals in life is to meet Mike and Bryan and get their autographs. If it doesn't happen this year, I guess I'll have to patiently wait longer.

It may not be technically Avatar/Korra related, but Giancarlo Volpe is going to this NY Con to promote/announce the secret project he's been working on. In his DA blog, he says: He's not working on Korra, but it'd still be really cool to meet him. (I of course never get to go anywhere, so no cons for me. Good luck/have fun to those who do get to go, though!)

Oh yes, I saw that on his DA journal! I hope I get to meet him, because that would be really cool! I've never met anyone who worked on Avatar before, unless you count nick magezine people.

I absolutely hate getting little tid bits of information, because my mind loves to jump to conclusions. There is just no way that we can know if any of this is true or not unless we are talking to the creators themselves. So hopefully at Comic Con they will come and bring a little more information with them and share it with all of us Avatar fanatics. *crosses fingers* here's to hoping.
