Its hard to tell cuz she's drawn so much older than we're used to seeing the gaang. And in my opinion, Tenzin doesn't really look much like Aang or Katara XD So who knows... My vote is Zuko as baby daddy Could be Haru tho...

Well...Byrke were Kataang from the start...they created them for each other. They admitted the appeal of Zutara, but they weren't about to rewrite their story for it just because it was popular, nor should they have to. Interestingly, it remains the only canon ship truly confirmed...the only one with actual decedents. The others weren't even mentioned...not even the characters involved, barring Zuko, who only seemed to be mentioned in his role of establishing the main setting with Aang. And they were teenagers in their first serious relationships, and how many people end up with their first love? Who knows what Byrke did with those...though I hope Sukka survived, it was the only one I truly liked.

I have been trying the place where those cheek bones on Chief Bei Fong reminded me of and when someone mentioned Haru as the possible father, I then thought of Haru's mother. It's a somewhat sad pic I know but judging from those cheekbones, they remind me of the same cheekbones on Chief Bei Fong. Granted Haru's mother's face is a little more heart-shaped than lean and oval shaped but the similarities are there from what I can see.

I'm hoping it's someone entirely new...someone specifically created to be her match. It seems rather trite for them to just go 'oh...we'll just pair her up with this guy...that'll do'.

I agree with Nandi. Toph was quite young in the series and while people sometimes do meet their match at that age (like Aang and Katara obviously did) it's really not the norm. So it would be nice to see that Toph went out, did her own thing and fell in love with someone outside the "Avatar group". And on top of that none of the characters really fit Toph's personality very well so it would kinda seem like the creators just said well these two need a match.

Its fun to speculate Maybe we'll find out in those books to be released in early 2012.... I wouldn't be suprised if it was some new guy, but I woulnt be suprised if it was one of the avatar guys. I don't see any resemblence of Sokka in Chief Bei Fong, tho. (As much as I'd like to!) She quite pale like Toph, and Sokka had a deeper skin tone. I would think if they had children they're skin tone would be somewhere in between. Glad there's something to keep us busy here again ;D

I stand corrected on my statement that no one had cheekbones like that in A:TLA. I honestly forgot about Haru's mother. But that helps in my suggestion of Haru as the baby-daddy. So I don't mind being corrected. And is she actually named Chief Bei Fong? That seems to indicate that there was no father in the picture. Or that, if there was, they were okay with taking Toph's last name...likely because she had such high status.

Do the less affluent in the series even have last names? Toph was the only character given one at all.
Also, Toph was the only child of the Bei Fong family. She probably had to have an heir as much as Zuko did...the name was probably needed to officiate that.

And is she actually named Chief Bei Fong? That seems to indicate that there was no father in the picture. Or that, if there was, they were okay with taking Toph's last name...likely because she had such high status. That's a likely possibility especially if she married a young idealistic rebel like Haru who was practically a peasant as far as comparing status to her went. Or it's just as likely that she didn't marry and had a love child which would then still qualify her daughter to carry her family name. A bit out there and over the top for this show I know, but Bryke never did mention that Toph got married. Only that she had a daughter. If Chief Bei Fong is the chief of police then how does that still make her the heir to Toph's family fortune and estate? Wouldn't there be a possible conflict of interest? If Chief Bei Fong is a love child and someone else is the heir running as head of the family fortune and business, then that would also make sense. But then as fun as these speculations are I just remember Occam's razor and settle back down.

What? A rich kid can't have a job? Aside from running a noble house' business and estates as the heir goes? Nope and that's the point. Being the chief of police to a possibly distant metropolis in addition to that is somewhat a conflict of interest not to mention holding down two full-time jobs that you can't possibly do well at the same time even if you are a bender. I believe I've heard that it's illegal for a publicly appointed official to serve in a public office/position and still own a business? Can you imagine Paris Hilton inheriting her fathers empire and still run a police precinct? Nevermind the impracticality or ethical implications of holding down those two full-time jobs, it just wouldn't fit at all with being a rich heiress.

My bet would be that Toph did get married, but that she gave her daughter the first name Bei Fong to at least pass on her name in some small way.
As far as the Bei Fong estate goes, Toph really hated all the rules and regulations that came with her position, so I would say that she probably didn't keep up with all that. While I'm sure that they still are wealthy I'd say there isn't exactly an estate to run.

Who's to say Chief Bei Fong is Toph's first born?
And the cheekbone thing...I think that's just Byrke's way of showing that she's an older woman...she's lost the softness of youth.

Well granted there is the possibility that she's not an only child but Bryke did unwittingly give the impression that she was an only child by mentioning "Toph had a daughter...". No mention of any other siblings unlike Tenzin who was mentioned as the youngest and has two older siblings and that's about it.
But you have a valid point that Chief Bei Fong may have siblings we don't know about that Bryke neglected to mention because they might be characters who aren't relevant to the overall story in LoK and thus weren't mentioned in the panel.
