Heyla! I'm Shauna. I'm wondering what references to other shows (movies, books etc) people can find when they watch Avatar. It can be funny, serious or just a moment that hit you.
Like, my friends and I watched The Boiling Rock today, and when Azula lifted off with her blue lightening I started wondering just when she managed to meet up with Iron Man...
Or that Moshi, Iroh's nickname, remind of the character Mooshie in RA Salvatore's Drizzt series. ( Mooshie is a blind old ranger the renegade dark elf Drizzt meets who teaches him how to be a better person and a ranger- the interaction is quite a bit like Iroh and Zuko's)

It was Toph who reminded me of Iron Man when she bended that metal around her like armor in the finale. XD I absolutely loved it when Jet and Zuko got into their sword fight in the tea shop because I was instantly reminded of Mugen and Jin (Samurai Champloo) who got into an eerily similar sword fight in a tea shop... and they were also interrupted, so the real winner is never known. Jet, himself, consistently reminds me of Mugen from Samurai Champloo. Mostly in character design and sometimes in character. Zuko is no Jin, though. Jun always makes me think of Faye Valentine from Cowboy Bebop. They don't look too similar but they act very similar. Beautiful bounty-huntresses that wear form fitting leather and like money and bars? I think Mike and Bryan knew what they were doing. I could go on about other Bebop/Champloo stuff, but it's already known that Mike and Bryan like Shinichiro Watanabe's work, so I'll calm down XD.

If I'm remembering this correctly, Mike and Bryan also told everyone to watch FLCL (Fooly Cooly) before they started working on the show. So when Sokka drank cactus juice......
