Heh, I redid my first post on LJ 4 times.
With about 20 icons to it each time.

Can someone tell me where I can download Paint Shop Pro 7 for free? Yep, right here! But the most you can ever get is a 30-day trial.

^ That's because she gave you a link for Adobe products, aka Photoshop, not Paintshop Pro. If you're sure you want Paintshop Pro, and not Photoshop, I'm not sure you're going to be able to find a trial of 7, because its outdated. I think here is the place to download a trial of the newest PSP, though. But I'd recommend you try Photoshop, unless you know you really want PSP.

Whoops, my mistake. '^.^
Yeah, take splendoris' advice. I've heard most people prefer Photoshop over Paint Shop Pro.

To be fair though, as FireMasterAzula says, the PSP learning curve is like running up a brick wall. The Photoshop learning curve is like running up a brick wall backward.

Awww... But once you've made it to the top by crawling with hand spikes it becomes easier and easier to run up said wall backwards! Too much metaphor, sorry. Look at it this way; You can eventually be paid $$$ to work Photoshop for those who were never willing to to try it. It's not just an investment and learning curve, it's a career in the making. ;D It worked for me and shoot, I started with Photoshop 3... Layers hadn't even been introduced yet!

I could get paid for teaching people to use Photoshop?
Well, I'm glad I know how to use it then. ;D

Heck, Photoshop is used for SFX in actual movies.
Not just second-raters, either- along with other programs, I saw techies using PHOTOSHOP in the making of PotC2.
They used it to give Davy Jones' skin the proper texture or something.

Go for it. You certainly wouldn't be making icons and sigs, though- probably website design and the pretty graphics you see on the cover of brochures. Just to letcha know.

Welll, I kind of sort of made a tutorial while telling alpacs how I made my current sig and icon; I'll quote my PM and post it here when I have time. xD
