I know I hardly ever post on here, but I have watched Avatar on and off since the beginning. It changed me in more ways than I can count. When it first came on, I was childish and kind of naive. But as the show got more mature and deeper, so did I. It has been a major crossroad in my life, and as I contemplated Iroh's quotes, laughed at Sokka's antics, mimicked bending moves, and fantasized about how Aang's relationship with Katara was kind of like my relationship with my love interest, somewhere along the line I grew up. And I grew up with Avatar! I am very sad to see it end and felt empty when it did, but now whenever I need the motivation to continue my life, I look to Avatar. It was not only a T.V. show, but a work of art and a friend. I know I may seem a little over-emotional, but what can I say? It had a big impact on me. So how did it change you (assuming it did of course)?

Wow. Yeah I agree with you on all those points. Avatar changed me mainly in the way that it taught me to appreciate my family and not take them for granted, when you see what characters like Aang, katara and Sokka have lost you begin to realise that not everyone is lucky enough to have a Mum and a Dad.

It expanded my imagination. It gave me inspiration for ideas and stories.
It also helped me come here where I met the coolest people.

Avatar has taught me to respect old men. Even when they're old guys they still have muscles and kick serious butt.
It has also taught me to steer clear of creepy old women *scoots away from Hama* XD

Just like you aang 23 it changed me almost exactly like you. I also mimicked bedning moves, thought about Iroh's sayings, laughed at Sokka's hilarious personality, and i also looked up to avatar when i felt down and sad. Haha im gonna miss this show and will always be watching reruns on tv and on my com. It also opened my eyes to art and drawing. The first serious drawing I attempted was avatar. I grew up with avatar also and sad its over but hoping on what M&B said that there are not done with avatar and look forward to it.

It really did change me and my life. When I was really sad or mad, nothing couldn't make me happy except for Avatar. I popped the DVDs in and I got super happy instantly. It's even part of my personality and the way I am. Mostly everything I did in school and other things had something about Avatar. It kinda the reason why I'm always happy and having a great time.

Avatar has helped me make wonderful friends, inspired more than ever to become a writer, learned to look at things with a more critical eye and thoughtfully back up my opinions, and yet it showed my the joy of such a satisfying narrative. Oh show.

I can't really put how avatar changed me into words.. But, I'd have to say, this person (on livejournal) did an spectacular job on saying how much avatar means to him/her. community.livejournal.com/14_avatar_days/32967.htmlThe only other thing than that, for me, is that my passion for art is all because of avatar. It started because of avatar.

It has REALLY changed me b/c I've grown up as have the characters on the show. I have met so many new people b/c of it. Avatar has been there for me whenever I needed it. [lol]
