I know everyone was rather ummm frustrated by the lame review in entertainment weekly but I think this review is fair more accurate. From what I've read this person has actually watched the episodes before the final and actually understands Avatar. So here you go. There are no spoilers but still a great review to get you pumped. news.toonzone.net/article.php?ID=25010my favorite quote

I didn't see any criticism other than "No other avatar tale can live up to it."
That must be pretty good then.

I like that he said "serves as a reminder that life is messy." Guru Patik, anyone? I bet the author watches the show.

Toonzone has written about Avatar many times in the past; they have experience. I'd rather trust a site that seems to at least be a fan than some random person from EW that seems to only have reviewed the finale because it's their job.

Heh. If I wanted to read something unbiased, then that other review would be okay. But see, I don't WANT to read something unbiased. Because I will be watching the show with a definite bias, having watched all the other (amazing) episodes. So it doesn't even make SENSE to have someone review it who doesn't know what they're talking about. It is very nice to know that SC will satisfy the fanbase - at least, in the eyes of this person.

That was a great review, I was happy to read it. Although hearing of the unresolved plot lines and unanswered questions made me a bit upset. In the real world things are messy yes, but this is a cartoon, they could untangle everything for that, they wrote it! I just have to wonder what they leave out! It better not be what I think it is or I'll be truely disappointed.
Thanks for sharing that BB! I'm almost pumped for tomorrow, almost cause well, I don't want to disappoint myself too much, and I know I'm in for it!

I'm guessing the unanswered questions has to do stuff with: The Facestealer, Iroh's Lost Days, Irohs journey into the Spirit World, Lu Ten. Anyway, I'm sad to say im not as excited as I should be, someone spoiled the ending for me, which I won't do for you guys. And that teaser aired during every episode didn't help either, since I kind of know what happened to Zuko. URG. I wish I came into the finale spoiler free. I didn't even look for spoilers!!! Other than that, I don't know really much else. So maybe I'll get a huge surprise tomorrow. Like an OH CRAP suprise!! Anyways what do you guys think the review meant when they said: "Earlier two-part episodes of Avatar haven't always been very tightly coupled to each other." I'm guessing their story isn't as tightly intertwine as the last two part?

I read about this 36 hours ago at 4:00am but didn't post it cause I wasn't sure where it should go.
I'm excited as crap for the finale, but I'm trying not to build it up so much in my mind that I'm disappointed.
I focused on 2 things in that review the moving reconciliation and the new character. I'm going to speculate (cause I'm unspoiled). That the reconciliation is Ursa & Azula and the new character is an Airbender!!!! But thats hoping for too much. I bet the reconciliation is Zuko & Iroh and the new character is I have no idea.
How could they possibly do a new Avatar show without any airbenders at all. They would have to call it the 3 nations then.
So excited I had a dream about Avatar last night.

The reconciliation would most likely at least be between Zuko and Iroh. Since that part has been rather set in stone ever since they seperated a few episodes back. If I ever saw Azula start saying, "I'm sorry for all the terrible things I've done, mother," I'm going to shudder badly. I highly hiiiiighly doubt that it would even come to pass. Further reasoning though has been explained already in the Theories section.
