My band doesn't play at any Thanksgiving Day parades. We have a Halloween parade, and 3 Memorial Day parades

Not all in the same day I hope...we just had to do a back-to-back parade day yesterday and I do not wish that on anyone...

Our marching band plays only at the major home football games and a festival which we hold for a guy that killled and robbed people. Every September!
I got informed a few days ago my band concert is on December 12th. Can't wait! We're gonna play the Ukrainian Bell Carol! One of my all time favorite Christmas songs!

We have the Memorial Parades all on the same day. Back to back, in usually over 80 degree weather (heavy polyester uniforms). Not fun.

My old director once signed us up for a 4 mile long parade in May. Let's just say that he isn't our director anymore.

Eh...4 miles isn't that bad...we did the Philly parade which is around 2 1/2...but we were stopping and going alot because every other group that passed through the camera area just had to give a 5 minute performance...

We had no stops. And our director had lied beforehand and said that it was only 1/2 a mile. The drummers were about to murder him

hahaha...revolt of the drumline....now, that is a funny image if you think about it or at least it is with ours, we have about 15-20 people in drumline and about 2/3 of them fit the stereotype for drummers....

We have about 11 drummers (we're a small band). And about 7 of them are potheads.

Lol yeah I play Xylo so I hate marching cause I have to carry the xylo for miles. I'd die if I had to march 4 miles. I can see why the drummers would revolt.

one of my friends plays xylo. She took a spill down the stairs off the loading dock the other night and hit her head on her bell set she had on. luckly she's ok. We have about 11 drummers (we're a small band). And about 7 of them are potheads. I feel your pain, one or two of our drummers used to do acid. I think we have 4 or 5 potheads, the rest are straight edge I am thinking....

^ Ouch....
My brother plays marimba (in the pit)/quints. He's one of the only non-pothead drummers. The only reasons the other 3 drummers aren't potheads are because one is in 7th grade, and two are actually good kids.

eeek......hahaha, but the drumline is cool though except for one or two people who are jerks. I find it slightly embarrassing that i'm in my sophmore year and still don't know if we have practice rooms or not in our band room....
