I found this to be a song with powerful lyrics and the video is just as provocative. I thought it'd be a good place to derive arguments about pertaining to its meaning. Discuss. www.youtube.com/watch?v=AuK2A1ZqoWs

I'm not so sure this belongs in CT. It's a thought provoking video, but it doesn't press on a specific issue for debating. Moved to General Board.

I must admit, I like the song. It's rare I find a meaningful rap song.
The basic meaning I'd say is control. To what extend will we go to in the name of a good cause? Hmmm.
And when does such power begin to corrupt?

I gathered the video was about the limitless abilities human beings have. Talents can range from simple stuff like tying a shoe or disassembling a remote to ultimate domination over society.

The impression I got was that people want to be good at everything, and impress everyone. That's why at the beginning, the two guys were like "Oh, I can do this and that."
But they took different paths in life, and one of the men wanting to be the best took it too far.
I just got the feeling it was a warning of the disastrous effects of human overachievement, and that some of the worst things that can happen to us are caused by us.

lol I was just listening to this song, my brother likes to fall asleep to loud music at night and I can hear it too and eventually I apparently learn to like his music =b So now I have this song on my playlist and it literally just played
I havn't seen its music video yet, that will obviously be an interesting one, I wonder if I could force this guy to prove he is able to do these things and if not then sue him for false advertising!

Here are the lyrics, if you would like to read them:
As for the meaning, I think that it has to do with the government, and it's own corruption. It's their opinion of the government.

That's what a lot of people are saying, but I don't think it has anything to do with the government. I think it has to do with the power of human potential. Humans can do anything they want, from riding without handlebars to blowing off the face of the world. We just have to be responsible for our actions, cuz our actions can be beneficial (heal people with lacerations) or destructive (kill people with assassinations).

The first time I heard the song/saw the music video, the power of the lyrics and the imagery of the video blew my mind. 0_0 I ended up sending the lyrics to my brother via snail mail in boot camp for the marine corp. reserves. He thought it was pretty cool. I was thinking about making a flipbook of like a small clip of the musical video and mailing it, but that sounded like a LOT of workkk...
I definitely agree with 2X on its meaning though. It starts out so whimsical then begins to build to such a serious topic. Starting without something as simple (or hard in my opinion, I can't do it!) as riding your bike without holding onto the handlebars then that same person destroying mankind...human potential for sure.

I think it shows how currupt our world is that two people who used to be friends turned to enemies, and despised what the other stood for.
