Frankly, this is one of those movies that I can't wait to see. What's better than two Kung Fu legends duking it out........ but thats not all that looks good.
I'll admit that I'm a sucker for Chinese-Themed movies. I love House of Flying Daggers to Curse of the Golden Flower. I now this is to be based more for an American adience......... but frankly I dont mind. Movies and books such as "A Kid In King Arthur's Court" turned out well. TFK looks however to combine the martial art detail of thing's such as HOFD with the American "Karate Kid" theme.
Anyone else waitin for this to hit theatres?

Not going to lie I lost all credibility for this movie when the trailer introduced the token white guy.

The movie lost credibility as soon as it introduced the stereotypical, generic Chinese kung fu theme. Seriously, kung fu movies are all Asians do and all they're credited for.
Asians are normal people too!!!! That's one reason I liked Harold and Kumar. Harold was a stereotypical white guy for once, instead of a kung fu master.

I would welcome some chinese films about something more modern. However, its hard to sell in the American market. Memoirs of a Geisha and Letters from Iwo Jima are closer to that... but even then. Its not like we get "Juno" type movies coming to theatres from abroad.

One of the main reasons more modern set asian films don't get world wide releases is because of culture. It's not uncommon to have Americans, Australians or the British be the main bad guy. A completely over used theme is when it's asian vs asian only to find out later that some rich white guy was pulling the string.
Also, every day cultural influences they are completely used to just don't translate well. Drama wise, well most of those movies get their rights bought and get remade with American actors if they're considered really good.
