Depeche Mode(pronounced "De-pesh Mode") is a British trio consisting of: Dave Gahan, Martin Gore, and Andrew Fletcher. They've been releasing albums(11 in total, plus some compliation albums) since 1981 and are still going strong.
They have also influenced many of the bands that exist today.
Anyone have a favorite Depeche Mode song or album? Why?
I need to narrow mine down...XD

Oooooh, I love Depeche Mode. "Violator" to me is a classic - so many of their iconic songs come from this album.

Yes, Violator was spectacular, my favorite songs from that album would have to be...Enjoy the Silence, Halo, World in My Eyes, and Personal Jesus.
But mainly the first two. XD
I also LOVE Strangelove. I forget what album it's on. XD

Ah! Another fan of "Halo!" Was that every released as a single? I didn't hear it until I bought Violater (many years after its release) and thought that if it wasn't one, it should have been. One of their more interesting songs, I think - it's great lyrically, sonically - you name it!

I have nearly all there records. But me, being a lover of the indie cult scene can't seem to press stop on Black Celebration. What a fantastic record. My next favorite is probably Music for the Masses.

Besides ripped jeans, I never got into any of those fads back then. Even then, my jeans were ripped because I was too lazy to go out and get new ones. PS: Now I'm afraid to go read what grangran posted after me in Kyatto's TAG thead. =x

Guys, the song "What's Your Name" from Speak&Spell makes me think of Jetko. It's so silly. XD
I've been listening to some of the 80s Depeche Mode albums(just started), and they're good so far. : D
