Hey folks! I'm on the hunt for another hack and slash game that I can play with my husband. What can I say? Some couples have Monopoly, we have dungeon crawling games to help us bond. The ones we have and like are Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II, Dungeons and Dragons Heroes, and Champions of Norrath 1 & 2 (though we don't enjoy those two quite as much, mainly due to the game mechanics, which are somewhat clunky and prone to slowdown). Now we'd like to try another game, since we've beaten those several times. But so far we've had a tough time finding anything that fits the bill - maybe we just haven't looked hard enough. So I'm looking to you guys for inspiration! Here are the criteria - the game has to be for the PS2, XBox, or XBox 360, and we'd like it to be two-player (I'd heard that Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone, was good too, but regretably it's one-player only). Any recommendations are welcome! We're itching to nuke some bad-guy butt together!

BAH.
Go out and get a DS each, and then Children of Mana. Huge potential in that one. Not to mention you have the added bonus of having a DS for all the OTHER amazing games out there...
Past that, can't help you, I only know of single player DCs.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance, it's fun and it incorporates 4 people. Also you can get an upgrade on the X-Box Live which includes more characters.

We'll it's not out yet but Hellgate: London is coming out pretty soon and it's a action rpg type game but I don't know about the mulitplayer.
There's always the old Gauntlet series, i know there was a version on the PS2 that got decent reviews and definitely has co op multilayer.

Gears of war is not a hack and slash or a dungeon crawler.

I don't have a PS2, but the closest thing to Dungeon Crawler I know of is Tales of the Abyss which is two player. It's most likely a 50+ hour game, so if you and your husband are willing to play that much together, then go ahead. I hear it's an AWESOME game. The controls might need some getting used to, but I think that it's a great game...Now...To buy myself a PS2 and play TotA...(Luke is soooooo HAWT! Go men showing midriffs!)
