Well i'll have to agree with earlier statements, the beginning is rather boring. But you do miss out on some plot points.

That guy dies..... What about his wife who could not talk? That is just sad........ *SPOILERS* I suppose I think I might have cried when Will and Martha died, but at least Martha died smiling EDIT: To whomever was asking if the anime and manga are different, the answer is yes. in the manga Eureka doesn't get turned into the rockish thing the same way, and there are slight character personality differences. Anemone is A LOT weirder.

That part of the show was the turning part for me, where Eureka SeveN finally started picking up and becoming a better show.

I thought it was just some kinda coincidence. Ah well.

I guess you could call it an Evangelion rip-off, but it is not hard to find parallels with something as influential as Evangelion. Watch Martian Successor Nadesico, RahXephon, Gasaraki, Fafner, Full Metal Panic, Vandread, etc. and you will definitely see parallels, but that is because there is only so much you can do with the standard stories and themes of mecha. Evangelion is deeper, but it is also denser and not necessarily good material for casual viewing. These other "Eva rip-offs" provide for lighter material. Complaining about this sort of stuff being an Eva rip-off though is very similar to likening every anime fantasy to Record of Lodoss War.
And that "proof" video of copying Eva is pretty flimsy. Wow, glowing eyes, mechas that stab their opponents, etc. This is all pretty standard in many mecha shows. Do you want to pull out some videos comparing 1st Gundam with Evangelion? I am sure there are many "proofs" of Evangelion being a rip-off of Gundam in all that footage.
BTW, Gasaraki is better than Neon Genesis Evangelion; it just never gets any love. But hooray for its realistic mecha and politics! And NGE is a bit overrated. If you remove and look at the religious symbolism, it really does not amount to much. So part of NGE's "deepness" is quite artificial.

The glowing eyes and stabbing was just filler. The point is that scene was lifted from episode 19 of evangelion and and some of EoE. But the show as a whole borrows too heavily from Eva. They arent robots! They are really strange godlike aliens outfitted with armor and stuff! LIEK PLOT TWIST! Strange enigmatic blue haired girl actually turns out to be one of teh aliens too! ZOMG! (Rei was made from Lillth btw)

So, I was just wondering if anybody has been watching this series lately. Adultswim is airing the entire anime again and it's almost half way done. Episodes 23 just aired on Friday. It would be pretty awesome to meet a girl where I could I have a relationship similar to Renton's relationship with Eureka. Considering that I'm a guy, it feels really weird saying that. Anyways, here is the complete series of dubbed episodes on veoh. The channel has all 50 episodes. www.veoh.com/channels/eurekaseven-dub

Because there are 50 episodes, you may anticipate character development to be stretched out. The art style is stunning, and the mechas are incredible. People despise Renton, but you're not paying attention to the tale. With 50 episodes, the world-building and character development truly shine, and there are some excellent arcs (Beams Arc for example). There's a reason it's rated higher than 8 on MAL and is the 15th most rated anime on Anikore.
