Its a pretty good anime. Amazing music, one of the best soundtracks ever. (well to me) And eureka looks like twiggy.

I just got the first dvd for Christmas and watched the first 5 episodes tonight. Pretty awesome stuff, I especially love the animation, which is blindingly beautiful. *_* eureka looks like twiggy. Heeeey, you're right! I love Eureka, she's so odd. ^.^

Im watching this on Youtube, im up to episode 30.
The music is reminescent of "fight with seymore" from FFX in some places. Thats a good thing. But the opening songs are terrible.
Im really trying to love this show, but so far i only kind of like it.
I dont like Renton, I dont like the pink explosions, and i dont like the surfing robots.
But my main problem witht he show is it gives me this "Iv seen this, and iv seen this done better"
Vodarek= Ishbaal The whole Vodarek thing, and the stuff with Holland helping in the genocide of the Vodarek people just screams Fullmetal Alchemist at me. Im waiting for Holland to whip out his special gloves and incinerate some Ishbaalans.
But what really pisses me off is how they rip off Neon Genesis Evangelion. Eureka IS Rei Ayanami. Blue hair, white outfit, pilots Unit 00, and she's an introvert. And guess what, it turns out she isnt even human! Gasp, that would be a plot twist if i hadnt allready seen Evangelion.
And then the robots turn out to actually be strange aliens with mechanical attatchments. That sure was innovative. A decade ago!
Dont even get me started on the scene where the Nirvash goes berserker...

I think I can explain the pink explosions , It might be because of the trapper (the stuff the lfo's ride on , it's green ) or it could be the living thing inside of the lfo (because lfo's are just aliens with mechanical parts on them) because LFOs bleed, like in episode 20 the heat from the rockets or lazers that they get hit by could heat up the LFO's blood to the point where it turns pink .

The pink explosions are blood mixed with smoke.
(but that doesnt explain how half the other exlposions are pink too)
Iv been watching more, and the last 10 episodes dont seem to rip off Eva that much. But the first half of the series was almost painful to sit through. They were the rebel group that didnt do anything. Fortunately im enjoying the final 20 or so episodes.
(Evangelion was much deeper though)

The series for awhile was mostly full of mysteries... and at the point it's up to on adult swim, alot of stuff has been revealed and I think it's really starting to get alot better now that it's less mysterious, though there are still some things we don't know yet. Anyway, I don't compare it to anything else, though if I did I'd probably say I like it better than Evangelion. That show's kind of overrated IMO. But it's still good.

Plot: Eureka 7 > Evangelion Characters: Eureka 7 < Evangelion Depth: Eureka 7 < Evangelion Evangelion pulled off the "Sentient mech" thing much better. Also the EurekaxRenton stuff gets annoyng after 40 episodes. Probably because Renton pisses me off. They need to die.

I think RentonxEureka gets better once Eureka finally realizes she likes Renton.

haha well I haven't seen the last episode so I have no idea about what you are talking about. I'm just going along with the dubbed eppies weekly.
I have seen Evangelion and NGE: The End of Evangelion the tone of the show is different, shiza every single character except for maybe Fuyutsuki had some major issues. Evangelion was an exercise in utilizing psychological theory/knowledge in an anime (notably this is after Anno Hideaki got out of a severe depression)
I suppose you could say that these are two of the same... coming of age (shinji and renton) mecha (evas and lfo's) apocalyptic (need i say more) but neon genesis has that psychological stuff that messes with the viewer's head as much as showing you how the characters are dealing with their own issues. Eureka 7 puts alot of emphasis on love, more so than evangelion (all the characters had their issues b/c of a lack of love)
hmm... i can't say any more tonight my head is about to explode from one hideous headache.

Quick question. Is the Eureka 7 manga the same as the anime?
