My English teacher's wife is pregnant (or was, at least) and my English teacher wanted to name the baby Beowulf because her due date was the day the movie came out. His wife shot him down, though, because it was a girl. He could've named her "Grendel's Mother" instead.

Why is Grendel's mum all seductive and stuff?! I always thought she was a giant scaley green troll-thing with vaguely feminine physical features, and definetely not played by Angelina Jolie. She could always have just called her Beowulfa.

I saw it yesterday. It was boring and interesting at the same time. I was with one of my friends and he was like" Here comes Angelina Jolie!" I think that was the only part he actualy liked.

John Gardner's "Grendel" would have made a better movie than "Beowulf" I love that book, but I don't think it would make a very good movie. What makes that book so wonderful is Gardner's prose, which you couldn't transfer over into a movie. And outside of his language, not much happens in the book. It's mostly just Grendel's thoughts and ponderings. (And his emo-ing out XD) Though I agree, I didn't like Grendel's design for this movie at all.

I saw it yesterday too... It was really interesting what they did with the stories. I'm not sure if I liked it or not... it was entertaining though I guess.

But still films like that r aimed at women they shoudl cast men women are likely to lust after....... e.g. troy was not a good film but women liked it coz nice hunky men like eric bana were running around in armour smashin each othe rin........ ooooo

HEY! I LIKED TROY! Ugh, I HATED Troy. I get why they left out all the Gods' part in the story, they wanted to make it more realistic, historically accurate, etc etc. But that war lasted TEN YEARS! Not a few days! Why was Hector's newborn son still a newborn at the end of the movie!? *headdesk* It was just frustrating, is all... There, I have to agree with you. The beauty of animation is that it relies on the actor's voice talent, not their looks.

It's ANIMATED, as in the characters look NOTHING like the VOICE ACTORS. Winstone: Beowulf:

Why would they try to make Grendel's mother all sexy, to me Angelina Jolie isn't even sexy! She has fish lips!
